Also based on the reading of these various segments, I'm REALLY thinking that the new Khorne Lord is going to be the Bloodspeaker that is mentioned to an almost absurd extent during the lore for the Wrathmongers. Considering that they summon Daemons and such, sound essentially like Lord level cultists. No rules or art for them, but that's where I'm puttin my money.
I wonder if this might be an indicator that GW and CA have decided to do a Total War: Age of Sigmar game.
@@loremasterofsotek I would be very happy if this is the case
@@Hauke-ph5ui AOS isn't ready yet. Too many factions aren't developed enough yet to have any DLC. Post 40k Total War, its 100% on the table though.
@@Hauke-ph5ui Age of Sigmar needs more time in the cooker imo. Maybe after a TWW 40k it could be a viable product.
@@loremasterofsotek Well if they'd now decided to do a game it's at least 4 years away anyway - the normal development cycle for games these days.
So we'd talk about a 2028-2030 release date if they'd started preproduction now.
I think the End Times thing I am most excited for is Gutrot Spume. I would love to play as a true Plague Fleet.
Honestly I would 10000% want Gutrot Spume as a LL instead of the Glottkin, which I know won't be a popular opinion. Feel like a Tentacled Plague Fleet lord would be more interesting than just ANOTHER big guy joining Tamurkhan & Ku'gath.
@@loremasterofsotek hell yes that would be awesome I love the Glottkin but Spume is a better choice for this but I always saw him maybe filling out the Norsca roster with access to Nurgle units and plague fleet raiding Norscans. Just cause it is hard to think of good Norsca lords in the hope that they get an update eventually or do you think he would still be better on Nurgle cause I was really hoping for Valnir as the 4th Nurgle lord.
Not only that but I also think CA should expand on the pirates in the game
Make them more agressive; actually attacking port settlements, and more varried (add Nurgle fleets, Chaos dwarf pirates, Ogre barges, Slaaneshi raiding parties,...)
A love a good ol' Sotek narrated lore story. (I do also love the more chatty videos - but this scratches a certain itch)
I’m super, SUPER excited for the prospect of End Times units and characters!
Yeah we all know that the narrative sucked balls, but the beauty of Total War is that WE make our own narrative. At the end of the day, it’s just more toys to play with 😊
yeah as a chaos player i love end times
Archaeon summoning the Skaramor Tribe is basically bringing the World Eaters Legion in Fantasy just without the guns
It just reads like bad fanfic writing. "You thought Khorne Chosen were powerful, but there's always been this ridiculous faction that puts Bloodletters inside of them too, and the only reason you didn't know about them is because they think your favorite faction is too weak."
It's a cool idea, and maybe it could've had a great reception, if only it hadn't been part of the End Times. But as it stands, it's just another in a long line of units introduced out of nowhere in a single edition that apparently can wipe their butts with everything that came before them, and for that reason their existence comes across as more of an insult than anything impressive.
Not a unique take in the slightest, but Nagash and Thanquol are musts if we’re doing End Times. They’re probably the last two real heavy hitters CA is planning on adding.
Ive always said since the early days of Wh2 and its not a question of if we get Nagash and Thanquol but more of 'when we get'
O thanks so much i literally started looking up end time units but didn’t really have the time to look at them so this vid is really appreciated
My only problem with the Blood Reapers and why I never had them in my BOK army is they really suffer from Late Stage GW Overdesigning. They don't need to have spikes on everything.
Your rage fuels Khorne.
You can tell that GW was planning for them to be Age of Sigmar models, because they have such ridiculous and un-grounded designs.
"Who can stand against men who have subjugated daemons with nought but their sheer willpower?"
A line of handgunners:
I hope this means we get Gutrot Spume, a naval Nurgle Faction would feel very unique I think compared to the alternatives. And the oceans of the games do feel underexplored or underutilized, so I think more factions that actively use them or even could get rewarded for using them would be neat.
CA being able to add End-times units and characters is exactly what i’ve been waiting for since WH 1!
Personally I think it is good that we have confirmation regarding ET stuff as it does mean characters like Thanquol and Nagash will get their big models. I am fond of the Skaramor because they were the beginning of the Blades of Khorne whose mortal side I consider Khorne's best mortal representation model wise. Fun fact: in terms of release date Skarr is the youngest of the playable characters.
Now the question is regarding ET is which Nurgle characters we will get and which versions of the Skaven units we will get.
In terms of what I am looking forward to with the ET stuff it is certainly Skreech for Skaven, Nagash, and the Maggoth riders.
Really wish we got the Blue Avian Tzaangors in Shadows of Change. I would have loved a Tzaangor Bray-Shaman of Tzeentch with Lore of Beasts, Tzaangor Archers on Discs of Tzeentch alongside their infantry. Really think that would have fleshed out that sub race nicely and given Tzeentch a unique caster hero and a new Lore for the Tzeentch race.
Please let the Tomb Kings get Bone Dragons.
I misread the title as “Ska Bloodtail.” Queek needs his domestic life partner.
3:35 this is what i was saying they need to stop the divide it shouldn't be fantasy and aos it should be old-world and aos under the name fantasy so people are like "Oh you like fantasy what part of the timeline do you like old world or aos"
I wouldn't be surprised if GW gave us these End Times units as an excuse for not allowing anything from The Old World in Total War. Their policy of keeping settings separate is absurd.
I'm hoping they have got past their odd desire to separate things and we'll see some of the new old world Bretonian stuff in their update.
Interesting, I didn’t know the Silverin were first mentioned in End Times. (I’m sure some content creator mentioned it, and I just forgot). But I totally understand why you don’t count them. They didn’t have a model release, or even rules; and there’s nothing particularly exotic, advanced or strange about them. They’re just spears with better protection.
So hype for this!!!!!
Woot woot! So happy to be seeing the End Times units without having to play out the story campaign in the game, haha
I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series!!
I never realized how demonic the new khorne stuff was. Digitigrade feet is top tier design.
Sotek, I was wondering if you could make a video abut missing content for the wood elves, I found they have, surprisingly, a lot of units that could still be added.
-Spites
-Chariots
-Kindred: Laith-Kourn (shapeshifters)
-Naiads
-Wildcats
-Horned Hunters
-Incarnate elemental of life
There´s the lore of Athel Loren too.
And besides Araloth and Naieth the Prophetess another very cool character I think could be in the game is Cyanos from when he had wings.
Maybe they could add a proper update for the faction, giving it a second mechanic, perhaps related to seasons, update some of the old models like the eternal guard and give us 3 or so proper Athel Loren forest battle maps.
I also think Orion should be as fast as the cavalry since he runs alongside the wild riders and it´s also the perfect tool for a hybrid character like him.
Is there anything I´ve missed?
For the resurrection i can see a few options. You could give him the phoenix resurrection, except it (almost) always activates but he needs to be in melee for say 30 secinds before it becomes useable. You could do something like tarmukans drain, this seems the mist likely as he would need a lord, hero or single ntity monster (aka a worthy opponent) around for it to proc. Or lastly something like the sisters of twilight where he rapidly regenerates when he gets low but only while in melee. Lastly he could have "immune to die" or what it is called for a time as long as the battle is in your favor, simmiliar to grimgors immortals.
Great video buddy once more!
i got an majormini ad before the video mans doing well
Finally the chance for Verminlords and Thanquol is better than ever. Not sure if people would want another DLC for Skaven but there are enough units for a lord pack.
There are a few good moments in the end times books but no one of them is great. The worst I think inarguably is the 3rd elf book, which decides to waste reader time on 20+ chapters of Malekith being a dick and Teclis being a traitor, then spend 3 chapters covering a supposedly 300 + year war that they have little to nothing to say about.
But did you know about the Silverin Gu.... - Cheers sotek!
sold going to go do another Khorn camp with all the mods that already add all this. Figure it will let me judge the DLC better.
I hope we get wrathmongers just for new animations
what i am more interested in is how old world units play into wh3. Especially with the long lived/immortal races like the tomb kings or dwarfs. since every unit in the Old World would still exist in the timeline of wh3 probably right? i mean like half the characters in wh3 are alive during the old world so i hope it makes sense for it to bring new content
This has me concerned for my boy Greasus one of the things i despise about the End Times is how they killed off Greasus and the fact that it was Grimgor who did it which was cheap he got to do so much shit in End Times and to be honest Greasus would not have gone down that way. Also has me concerned that Ogres won't get anymore DLC afterwords if this is the case and I get the roster is close to full but I was hoping for a Ironggut rework and perhaps variants
I wish we got a story narrative heavy dlc/expansion at some point that officially retells and retcons the end times lore, but in the game, as an epic conclusion to the TW Warhammer trilogy. TWW3's tutorial campaign is so incredible, it's the best story content I've ever seen in a TW game. I wish they would make that, but longer, and with branching selectable story paths for the forces of order and the forces of chaos. The green skins and undead could get lumped in with order and the skaven and norsca would be lumped in with chaos. I want an actual cutscene fight if you're playing as Grimgor or Archeon where you actually get to see Grimgor kick him in the nads lol. I wanna see the actual moment Franz sacrifices himself to become the avatar of sigmar. This expansion content would be at the very end after most all the end times units are already added to the game, so this final story narrative dlc would only come with one or two more units per faction.
That would be so cool! If we could get more stuff like the tutorial campaign, that would be awesome. I think it's a lot more likely when they get to Nagash, they slap on the tagline, "Make your own End Times" lol. You've given me hope for something way cooler, though!
i love the story narrative experience in total war warhammer 3
Since skullreapers and wrathmongers are pretty similar in terms of model count, how elite they are and in function, I have a feeling that we are not getting both of them as fully fledged units. Probably something like skullreapers being 32 model count AP magic attack unit and wrathmongers being an RoR variant with bonus vs infantry. Honestly khorne isn't exactly starving for more melee infantry or monsters. What I'd hope to see is ranged pressure options, even something basic like reskinned norscan axe throwers. And light cavalry with better mass than flesh hounds for countercharging other cavalry.
When do we get night time stories with Sotek where he's just reading the end time books?
I dont understand why everyone is like END TIMES CONFIRMED FOR WH3, just from 1 unit being confirmed that so happened to be in the End Times? CA just chose a hero from the lore to add. Doesn't mean anything is confirmed?
I'm not sure I'm too excited for the End Times stuff. Some of it - mainly the characters - is cool, but a lot of the units, at least from a lore perspective, feel like self-indulgent power creep where the writers were just tasked with coming up with the most ludicrous unit ideas possible to the point where they could wipe their butts with the heroes and other elite units of the mortal factions without breaking a sweat.
You thought Khorne Chosen were scary, with their hero-level stats? Well now there's a hither-to completely unknown faction that puts Bloodletters inside of them too, and they're stronger than either!
You thought Rat Ogres were scary? Now they're even more drugged up, and they have ratling guns fused to them!
You thought necromancy was limited to mortal monsters and infantry, but actually Nagash turned the angels of a god into undead units!
And so, so, so much more...
Perhaps all of this would've been less offensive if written over a period of 40 years, but the fact that all of it came in the span of a single edition and pretty much made most formerly-known units in the lore impotent by comparison is a giant middle finger to everyone who ever cared about the franchise. At least that's my opinion. And for that reason, I'm not very excited about the possibility of these units being added to the game.
Did you just manage to make something from the end times sound cool?
Are you olanning to do similar video's type for other race like vampires for example?
Sotek has done a series about what each bloodline could add to tw which included units. I assume that these kinds of videos will show up when we learn what is in a dlc or when inspiration strikes him.
Wrathmongers seem a bit op😅
What can stop them? 😅
Faith, Steel, and Gunpowder!
Glotkin should be a legendary hero
Thank you for that reading, reminding me what terrible garbage the whole endtimes "writing" was. However, more units are always welcome and if it means we can get Verminlords and Stormfiends then I'll be happy.
Alcohol poisoning speedrun any%,
Take a shot every time the word "bood" or "skull" Is said 😂
I'm a bit worried about End Times units feeling a bit out of place since they are, imo, more AoS looking than Fantasy looking.
I think you are dumb if you think the game is better off without the insanely great nagash sculpt released in the end times!
You can tell that GW was planning for them to be Age of Sigmar models, because they have such over the top and un-grounded designs.
@loremasterofsotek I've heard others say Skarr Bloodwrath should've been a LL instead of a LH. I was curious what your thoughts on this were and if it makes more sense one way or the other.
No i don't want AoS Dorghar I want it's horsey form left alone
What’s an End Times? I’ve been assured by many (Perhaps most) content creators that End Times never happened, it never existed.
It's a well documented trauma response
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOOOOD!!! KARNETH DEMANDS SKULLS!!
So there is hope for tzaangors beaks
They didn't have beaks in the endtimes so probably not.
@@devinphillips8085 you’re right, my bad.
It seems that aos and old world have two different competing executives, aos one also woke. And fb one is broke. They even didnt gave us new fb minis
Here is a hot take. I don't want these khrone units. Why you ask? We already have plenty of melee blenders in khrone. What niche is this going to fill? If the WoC units where not added to khrone then I see this being a good addition, but now? I think they will be immediately forgotten about. Honestly more excited for the characters for Khrone more than the units for this reason.
Ka'bandha has a chance boyz pray for it!
if they give nurgle more stuff i want ka'bandha and more Khorne idc what they say.
Those guys are so edgy. 😂
i actually love separation of settings, so i can not care about AoS and like warhammer as it is.
If they can now use end time units. Does this mean we can get Araby and Amazon armys ?
What a boring characters honestly. The strongest, bloodiest, killed this and that, etc etc, yeah juts a Khorne guy then. Hopefully he will be a cool characters in TW!
The funny bit his how utterly pathetic and useless they were in the End Times. Like Skarr Bloodwrath got killed 3 times in a row without achieving anything or killing any important champions.Dont bother wondering why Khrone revieved his sorry ass each time.
You know, for a blood god, Khorne does not seem to like to let his warriors die. Kinda undermines his whole "Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows" kinda deal.
I know every fan in fantasy hates him but I want to see Kabandha
The End Times didn't happen. The characters and units on the other hand...
Gelt's Pegasus got a name in the Endtimes! And then a name in TWW. Hmm... they were always intending it! See! The Proof!
...Ugh. Khorne. I find them so boring.
Funny enough, I was responsible for getting CA to use Quicksilver's name from the End Times to put into game! Was one of the earliest contributions I got to make to the game when I had just started chatting with them
@@loremasterofsotek Ah yes, and now it is being used against you to prove CA's willingness, from the very beginning, to use End Times content! Haha! I am, of course, not serious. But it was a nice addition. Named mounts are always nice flavour. Lokhir getting a Dragon might have been odd, but at least it has a name, and Alberic's "Tempete" was a good addition too.
Give me my Ogres more Ogres and please please let them give Greasus a good rework hell give him a better cart and make him far more useful he is the Overtyrant damnit put some respect on my boy's name. Also considering the Ogres as a race are incredibly strong and were one of the Old Ones secret weapons am hoping for some decent buggs. At the same time now that i know they are using the End Times i am concerned very concerned that the Ogres are basically going to be forgotten or worse absorbed into the Greenskins MEAT FOR THE MAW AND FIRE FOR THE FIREMOUTH.
I think ca is very hesitant to use aos of 40k units in case that they make a age of Sigmar or 40k game.
So units dont cross over
All 4 soul grinders entered the chat
@euychua they are a warhammer fantasy unit too
Not a big fan of these guys.
Still kinda hate their look. Just seems out of place with the rest of fantasy and look like they belong to a different game. Which was indeed true.
i love them
am I the only one that hate the look of this guys? Like why are they wearing armored overalls? They where so close to being cool, all they had to do was get rid of the armored overall or just give them full chest plate and for the love of god PUT ON A HELMET. God I hate how few people wear helmets in warhammer.
