Just get rid of them. Write up, use disciplinary protocols. You'll be Amazed how many better employees you will lose if you keep someone like this at work.
So true. I know many healthy, conscientious people who have been driven to leave a job because of a narc & in most cases HR don’t help as they have deferred to “let’s get you 2 together and work this out”, which invariably leads to the narc gaslighting and playing the victim and the healthy person get’s nowhere & therefore leaves.
@@MeAmDirshin Well, yeah, of course. That's why when you are sure you gots yourself one of these narc-people on your hands and they are causing trouble, and you know they're the root cause, you play smart. NEVER bring up their narcissism. EVER. That will send the narc into defense over-drive mode to the max, predictably. Just go with the facts, their actions, and keep very detailed and professional records that are legally obtained. Know about the disorder and how to deal with them per the ways psychologists have found works best over the decades of studying these anomalies. That's all you can do. Though the best course of action would be to train yourself in narcissism and don't hire them in the first place. Because I have a diagnosed narc mother and have been exposed to this personality type since birth, I can spot one of them within five to thirty minutes tops of meeting one, and if you're not too sure, ask certain probing questions, or throw them "fluffing" praises and compliments that only a narc responds to in their signature way. Best thing about the disorder is that these "tests" go over their heads as high as Mt. Everest every single time mostly because you are "new" and they are trying to put their best mask forward, and they believe no one knows what they are. (though some are straight up about themselves by saying they may be crazy, difficult, etc, but they're fabulous, wonderful, loyal, whatever, and they can get wise to someone "handling" them once they get to know them and the "shiny" factor wears off, and it depends on the narc's intelligence level). They all run by the same core playbook. No exceptions. No way on EARTH would I hire an NPD willingly. That's just asking for misery.
Strangely enough, This almost seems like toying with people's mental emotions that they supposedly do the same but your also doing the same thing as well. So basically, A fake ass way of not letting them know you don't like certain things they do or say.. strange ass world we live in.

Easier said than done, my one staff member has gathered her flying monkeys around her. I just ignore her as if she is nothing
Pink slip.
That is all.

Not easy if in a unionized workplace
Work alone. Yes keep them busy.
Useful but please next time leave out the music. For me it distracted from the message.
So in other words treat them the same as a toddler.
