I have modeled all my characters, after myself, and Qui-Gon. Liam Neeson portrayed him wonderfully. And it's too bad he's getting older, because a series done about him would be fantastic! Disney, are you paying attention? Liam could narrate the series, as if he's writing a journal...
I remember another former jedi master, wise and powerful, this master told me something about love, that it wasn't what lead to the Dark side, passion can lead to rage and fear, and can be controlled. This master told me passion and love were not the same thing, he told me that controlling passion while you were in love was what the order should teach you to beware of, but love can save you.
I remember talking with my brother and he brought up that with Qui-Gon Jinn there would have been no chance of Darth vader. When I asked for an explanation his response was that Qui-Gon would have made sure he was dead. I know that isn't what this video is about but I find that amusing.
So true, Qui-Gon would have done a good job of separating true love and attachment so that Anakin wouldn’t obsess over his nightmares of Padme. Any time he would have needed someone to confide in, Qui-Gon would reassure him that it will be okay
This is why Qui-gon will always be my favorite Jedi of all time. Even he knew that some laws and rules of the Jedi were ridiculous in the sense that the codes they set go against the very nature of what they are. Instead of mastering control over their emotions and allowing normal emotions to be a part of them, they just focused heavily on detachment which only enforced the rise of negative emotions that specifically drawn dark side influence. Their codes that they made essentially set them up for failure and prevented any of them to fully reach their potential because they locked away essential emotions that would fuel them and of course took away some of their humanity they had. For protectors of peace they did a horrible job maintaining peace within themselves and the Jedi. I guess that’s why only few force users was able to achieve Force ghost form aside from being taught how to do it and why few of them even used some light side abilities that others had because they cut out the thing that essentially makes them whole. Jedi should be in touch with their emotions always but not give in completely to it and especially the bad sides of their emotions like love turning into obsession and stuff like that.
@@Craftmon20 Thank you Craftmon, I appreciate your kind words. I always saw the Jedi as flawed and it bothers me that even after all of that Luke (at least shown with Grogu in Book of Boba) hasn’t learned that lesson yet.
Exactly!!! If I we’re to sum it up: The Jedi ignore their emotions to their detriment and the detriment of the galaxy. The Sith embrace their emotions to their detriment and the detriment of the galaxy. A TRUE Jedi recognizes emotions as part of themselves, both the good and the bad. They control their emotions rather than let the emotions control them. Becoming masters of themselves in all aspects and finding the balance within. Only by balancing themselves can they bring balance to the galaxy as a whole.
@@jeskerjames3260 my man you hit the bullseye right in the center!! A true Jedi would be able to balance the force within and I personally think that if they can use this balance, they could use both Light and Dark to achieve perfect balance, power beyond anyone has ever seen while using it to protect their loved ones and the galaxy as a whole.

You made excelent points in the video, Qui-Gon is also my favorite Jedi, so much so that I still mourn that he died so early. So I wanted to see a good future for Anakin with Qui-Gon alive, like a lot of Star Wars fans.
Cant wait for Tales of the Jedi coming out in September!! Where we get to found out about Qui Gon and County Dooku and their relashionship when they were younger.
What an absolutely fantastic and informative video my friend. Qui Gon Jinn is also my favorite jedi or Master Jedi. Your video does make sense in so many ways and it's why Master Qui-Gon wasn't so much about Jedi politics but was more into the force guiding him. Great job in this video my friend. Keep them coming, especially on Master Qui-Gon.
Qui-Gon is a different breed altogether. A very special Jedi who understood not just the force, but human nature, in all it's beauties and flaws, on a level most of his Jedi peers could never bring themselves to grasp or teach among their own, or were just too ignorant to understand, given their prestige. Poor Anakin needed a man like Qui-Gon more than anyone else to seek guidance and confide with, as he'd have truly listened and understood his struggles more so than even Obi-Wan, who I'd argue simply abided too rigidly to the Jedi's often virtuous yet close-minded teachings and outlook, especially towards human relationships, sometimes to an unrealistic degree.
Qui-Gon IS the best of the Jedi...he embodies what the Jedi should have been. To remove any and all temptation is no way to prepare for when it happens. Feel your emotions, recognize what they are and control them. Avoidance is not Preparation The Jedi did it to themselves through their own teachings...Vader was inevitable without Qui-Gon's
By seeing Qui-Gon as more of a father figure and also saw a bit of a rebel in him, Anakin definitely would've went to Qui-Gon and told him about Padmé and the baby. In turn, Qui-Gon would've done anything it took to protect Anakin from expulsion. Obi-Wan would've only done so much. As much as I like Obi-Wan, he is kind of a jerk.
Obi was disciplined and not a weak coward, only the best become Jedi, only the best fight evil urges ..... Qui-Gon got smoked 1 on 1 with Maul and Obi avenged him 2 times, Qui-Gon was awesome for sure but he was inferior to Obi in the grand scheme.
I wonder if had Yoda and the council had compromised with Obi-wan, if the galaxy could have been saved. Say, instead of Obi-wan training Anakin, they gave him their promise that Anakin would be trained, but with an older master who would be able to handle such a niche case.
Obviously Qui-Gon understood the importance of attachments. Anakin would feel willingly to ask him for advice, and he would've been able to aid Anakin in grappling with the loss of his mother Shmi. Stepping up to the role of nurturing him contending with those premonitions of Padmé, where Anakin learns to be less contingent on his feelings having more maturity
As much as people like making the joke that Qui-Gon doomed the galaxy for bringing Anakin to the Jedi order... Qui-Gon didn't fail Anakin... The Jedi did... "I have failed you Anakin... I have failed you..."
One of the greatest sacrifices of love is one's devotion to the other. The selflessness, the commitment. One of the greatest expressions of love is letting go. Accepting working though grief, sadness, pain while knowing it was the right choice. The Jedi failed Anakin on both parts.
I think if Qui-gon hadn't died he wouldn't be having visions of Padmes death at all, because as Qui-gon said "Anikin see things before they happen" so Anikin wouldn't go to Palpatine for advice, he would've stopped him, and Padme would still be alive and wouldn't die of a broken heart.
Looked yesterday on Ep IV with my kids. It would be perfect with a second season of Kenobi were the fundamental underlying theme is for Qui-Gon and Kenobi to together finding the answers to how to support Luke into becoming a jedi without making the same mistakes as with Anakin who fall to the dark side. And through that get the answer for what happened when Vader killed Kenobi. When looking at Ep IV Kenobis behavior always hints an underlying plan, ending up in himself letting himself be killed by Vader in front of Luke.
I can see why Qui-Gon never wanted to join the Jedi Council. He had the opposite feelings on what the Jedi would have. Had he been alive he would’ve told Anakin that having those feelings were normal. Especially when it comes to trusting a politician like Padme. I wish he could’ve told Obi-Wan this also.
I know it will never happen but I would love it if they did some movies or a show just following the alternate timeline of what if Qui Gon won and trained Anakin.
Explains why when obi wan had flashback of leia and Luke, he was able to tap into live and defeat vader, finally being able to see qui gon. This explains why he was finally able to se him
I really hope that if there is a season 2 of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ that it follows Obi and Qui-Gon and maybe they could be sharing story’s and we get flashbacks as well as training sequences.
This would be a great what-if storyline if Qui-Gon hadn't tied. Perhaps a world view ashoka could peek in on in her world among worlds? Idk, just throwing my thoughts out there
They need to do a Vader movie or series that takes place between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back where Vader finds out Luke is his son. I wanna see he how he handled that in the moment. I'm guessing he tried to keep it secret at first and went on a killing spree with any Imperial who knew about it so Emperor Palpatine wouldn't find out. But obviously he ends up failing because Palpatine knows everything.
Didn't the Jedi ban romantic relationships and other attachments because time and time again Jedi would turn to the dark side when they lost someone? And it worked, there was peace and balance for 1000 years before the clone wars and the sith's reign was very short in comparison.
They fell into the dark side because they were not trained to control their emotions on what is love and what is passion/Obsession. And let’s say that when they fell to the dark side it was probably because they wanted to seek revenge which would help them open their eyes and realize the actions they took to get to that point would be wrong and ultimately adjust themselves. However what probably happened was that at this point the Jedi were becoming to skeptical about the emotions and the connection to the dark side so they would forbid or prevent vengeance and or any way to absolve the personal conflict of the victim, thus leading them to a darker path since those who were in the light refused to help the individuals. A sad truth that the Jedi refused to believe was that where there is light there is always dark, and they tried to ensure that only light prevails by putting these codes and rules which yes worked for a time, but all it did was make the dark side itself stronger, more cunning and most of all, gave them opportunities to slip into the cracks of the Jedi and corrupt some of them from within to spread their influence. Balance is key for the Jedi, and with that balance between light and dark side is ultimately what would be proven time and time again as such examples as Mace windu, Anakin skywalker, Luke skywalker (at least in episode 6) and Galen marek “Starkiller” and many more from even Star Wars legends that would lead them being the most powerful users of the force and saber while protecting what mattered to them and even the galaxy itself.
They had a 1,000 years of peace because the Sith went into hiding. As for the Jedi Order’s part in it?: Their position led to a 1,000 years over which the Jedi slowly lost their connection to the Force to the point that they nearly stopped listening to it for guidance and such that even their strongest and wisest could not fathom that they were taking their orders from a Sith Lord whom they meet with regularly and all it took to bring the Order down was to ditch their charter to be peacekeepers and an emotionally troubled young Jedi afraid of personal loss that any level headed father figure or a good friend or a counselor should’ve been able to help straighten out if they cared enough to listen, really listen, when the boy came to them for help or guidance.
The thing about it is that possessive love to Lucas is what attachment actually is when he defines it in interviews. Possessive love, which Quigon viewed as the issue, is what Lucas has defined attachment as. George has stated that the Jedi can love but not to the point of possession. Anakin wasent wrong for loving Padme, but he by mouth of the creator had an issue confusing compassionate love with possessive love. He wasn't content with merely loving her, he married her and saw him in TCW being jealous and possessive many a times (especially with Clovis). I honestly don't believe that Anakin would not have fallen if Quigon was around still (which Dave believed), simply because the issue with Anakin in the end was his own selfishness. His visions of Padme dying were just that, visions, they were not concrete. He reached out for help while hiding the actual truth of his fears, but nothing could have been done regardless. Padme was fine medically speaking and no amount of force healing would have saved her, because the thing that killed her in the end wasent illness but Anakins own decision to sell his soul and the galaxy's fate to save her. The reason for Anakin's fall was his attachments and his inability to let them go when needed. Obiwan and Quigon's force ghost discussed the matter in Master and Apprentice. Anakin despite everything was a fully fledged knight and fought valiantly for years, his training was already complete,. He had the wisdom and power to make the right choice, but he didnt.
Here's a suggestion finally carry on the time travel animation where Luke and Darth Vader/anakin go back in time last year went off their going to go to episode 1 before Obi-Wan Kenobi is trainer died
Well, he's not from the original trilogy. And the sad fact is that he had to die, so anakin can become Darth Vader in the future. Also because palpatine had maul ordered to kill him, because it would foil his plans if qui gon lived.
Jedi don't allow love because offspring. It's too hard to keep track of all the force sensitives that could turn to the sith. Jedi was fearful of sith fear led to anger anger to hate and hate to suffering and not detecting Palpatine
There's a horrible issue of Star Wars Tales where Qui-gon explains to Obi-wan why jedi are forbidden to love, the reason was really stupid and Qui-gon acted incredibly out of character, he seemed to lecture to Obi-wan that jedi shouldn't love and suported it, if you know Qui-gon Jinn at all you should know that, that's not what Qui-gon would say to Obi-wan or anybody. The good news is the Star Wars tales comics aren't cannon not just to Disney cannon but neither to Darkhorse cannon either, so it's all good.
What if Bo-Katan Kryze was a stronger and better fighter than Maul and Pre Visla combined, thus defeating Maul and/or Sabine Wren in combat for leadership of Mandalore and/or the Darksaber?
So what the only Jedi in Star Wars who could have saved Anakin Skywalker and make him more powerful and be with Padme was Qui-Gon right not Mace Windu or Kenobi or any other Jedi
That's because of ideology within being a jedi. It's about ideology and belief not skill/power. Qui was unique as he, had a different perspective on what it means to be a Jedi. Something Mace and yoda disagreed with.
@@TheFirehands150 I agree he is what a Jedi should be but historically Jedi have been so afraid of falling to the dark side they try to go all the way to the other side of the spectrum which only itself leads to the dark side where as gray Jedi are tools for the force they are led by the will of the force instead of bending the force to there will like sith and the Jedi council do
Well, the name Qui-Gon Jinn can be roughly interpreted as meaning; ‘a spirit in balance’. But to answer the question; Canonically, there is no such thing as a Grey Jedi. That implies a disciplined Jedi that’s neither a Lightsider or a Darksider, or their actions neither good nor evil, and that just doesn’t make sense. Of course you can define it differently, but we’ll have to leave that as a philosophical debate since Lucas wasn’t entirely clear on issue of Balance nor about Jedi that were out of alinement with the Jedi Council traditionalists. My personal take is that a Grey Jedi is one that’s increasingly pressing the limits between right and wrong, in danger of falling to the Darkside. Examples; Anakin Quinlan Vos Jacen Solo The Revanchists Juhani And we saw a few others in the Clone Wars CGI series. It’s always a tossup as to whether they ultimately fell to the Darkside or came back to the Light thanks to intervention by their fellow Jedi.

@@Zypher2887 If I understand you right, that’s one way to define a Grey Jedi. A Jedi that’s out of alinement with the Council. A Jedi that’s likely on some Jedi Council member/s watch list for whatever reason. A Jedi that can scapegoated by the Order to save face with the public. Yes, Ahsoka would fit that definition of a Grey Jedi. Though she was definitely a Lightsider. No, I don’t think that Qui-Gon would entirely fit that definition since the Council had not only granted him the rank of Master and gave him the apprentice of his choice. They respected him enough to seriously consider his take on the Chosen One prophecy and to honor his dying request that Anakin be trained as a Jedi by Obi-Wan. Going so far to grant Obi-Wan the rank of Knight without trails and a apprentice without himself having a Master. Despite his differences with the Council, there was no mistrust between them. They knew that he followed the Will of the Force, but they didn’t have the same luxury as him to be fully trusting in it since they also had their obligations to the Senate. And Council seats aren’t for everybody. Just as some people are better suited as doctors or the military/police or as teachers or lawyers or financial managers or sports players and entertainers or cooks or seamstresses or…, to place them in something else will naw at them and drain their spirit, they simply won’t be as good, successful, focused or content as they could be.
Palpatine requested that Anakin be granted a seat on the Jedi Council and a promotion to the rank of Jedi Master. The Jedi Council meet him halfway by granting Palpatine’s request for Anakin to have a seat in the Council. The Masters correctly suspected that Palpatine wanted Anakin on the Council to spy in on them as well as to be his voice in meetings, and chose to play into that by giving Anakin a seat on condition that he spied on Palpatine. Either way, the Jedi of this era were answerable to the Senate and the Senate’s requests had to at least be considered by the Council.

I have modeled all my characters, after myself, and Qui-Gon. Liam Neeson portrayed him wonderfully. And it's too bad he's getting older, because a series done about him would be fantastic! Disney, are you paying attention? Liam could narrate the series, as if he's writing a journal...
That's just a wonderful idea!
He said he didn't want to come back because he's done
I remember another former jedi master, wise and powerful, this master told me something about love, that it wasn't what lead to the Dark side, passion can lead to rage and fear, and can be controlled.
This master told me passion and love were not the same thing, he told me that controlling passion while you were in love was what the order should teach you to beware of, but love can save you.
Qui-Gon is definitely one of the, if not *the best* Jedi. I hope we get to see more of him in Kenobi Season 2
is kenobi season 2 official?
@@rodriguezsamuel4591 for how popular it was and how the cast said they would do it again, it can be very likely
No he isn't, he lost to Maul EASILY and Obi beat Maul on his own TWICE
I like what Jolee Bindo says in KOTOR where passion leads to the dark side while love redeems.
Just look at Kanan.
He wasn’t afraid to embarrass his love for hera and his friends
Kanan is underrated tbh
Damn, A+ on that masterpiece of an essay!
@@joxyver I agree with you Luke felt off with Grogu but I think his test has some valid points considering Grogu would outlive Din and Luke so either way he would face lost love one in time if Grogu was in Luke Jedi academy legends he be happy. You made excelent points in the video, Qui-Gon is also my favorite Jedi, so much so that I still mourn that he died so early. So I wanted to see a good future for Anakin with Qui-Gon alive, like a lot of Star Wars fans.
Qui-Gon never gave up on Anakin, he knew that Luke's love for his father would bring him back to the light.
So ahead of he's time and many ways Saved the Galaxy by Anakin Skywalker, And discovery of becoming a Force Ghost💚⚡ Awesome video General Theory 🤘
Wow I’m never this early keep up the good work by the way.
Audiences watching Star Wars in 1977: 😀 "What a fun space movie"
Audiences now:
I would love for Claudia Gray to write a trilogy of novels about Qui-Gon’s life
Super excited for tales of the jedi, seeing a young dooku and qui-gon
Qui-Gon IS the best of the Jedi...he embodies what the Jedi should have been.
To remove any and all temptation is no way to prepare for when it happens. Feel your emotions, recognize what they are and control them.
Avoidance is not Preparation
The Jedi did it to themselves through their own teachings...Vader was inevitable without Qui-Gon's

Great video Theory, really enjoyed this one 🙏
Thank you for this video.
I don’t know why Obi-Wan followed what the Council wanted and not what his own master wanted.
Qui-Gon would have just told Anakin to leave the Order if he wanted to live that life. It’s really that simple.
I wonder if had Yoda and the council had compromised with Obi-wan, if the galaxy could have been saved. Say, instead of Obi-wan training Anakin, they gave him their promise that Anakin would be trained, but with an older master who would be able to handle such a niche case.
Qui-Gon could’ve single-handedly saved the galaxy
Watto not accepting republic credits doomed the galaxy

Damn Darth Maul killing him. How did he survive being stabbed in the chest and being cut in half, but Qui-gon was killed by a stab through the chest?
@@starwarsjoey228 Sorry, what?
Obviously Qui-Gon understood the importance of attachments. Anakin would feel willingly to ask him for advice, and he would've been able to aid Anakin in grappling with the loss of his mother Shmi. Stepping up to the role of nurturing him contending with those premonitions of Padmé, where Anakin learns to be less contingent on his feelings having more maturity
As much as people like making the joke that Qui-Gon doomed the galaxy for bringing Anakin to the Jedi order...
Qui-Gon didn't fail Anakin... The Jedi did...

Qui-Gon Jinn and Kanan Jarrus are what the Jedi should've been.
Qui-Gon spot-on as always
He sees things before they happen it’s why he appears to have such quick reflexes it’s a Jedi trait 😎
One of the greatest sacrifices of love is one's devotion to the other. The selflessness, the commitment.
One of the greatest expressions of love is letting go. Accepting working though grief, sadness, pain while knowing it was the right choice.
The Jedi failed Anakin on both parts.
This sort of detail is what’s missing in Star Wars nowadays!!👍❤️
To me, the coolest what if situation would be if qui-gon beat maul and maybe had a larger place in other events. Would be sick to see
I think if Qui-gon hadn't died he wouldn't be having visions of Padmes death at all, because as Qui-gon said "Anikin see things before they happen" so Anikin wouldn't go to Palpatine for advice, he would've stopped him, and Padme would still be alive and wouldn't die of a broken heart.
Him and Dooku are so underrated it annoys me that they aren’t as well known to the general public as Vader.
My fav Jedi and action figure
I know it will never happen but I would love it if they did some movies or a show just following the alternate timeline of what if Qui Gon won and trained Anakin.
Qui-Gon sure was fantastic.
Explains why when obi wan had flashback of leia and Luke, he was able to tap into live and defeat vader, finally being able to see qui gon. This explains why he was finally able to se him

I really hope that if there is a season 2 of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ that it follows Obi and Qui-Gon and maybe they could
be sharing story’s and we get flashbacks as well as training sequences.
Qui Gon's lightsaber btw is S tier

Any beginning of Star Wars stories? Like where it all first started?
Qui Gon is super wise.
Just think if the Jedi Masters knew about Anakin and Padme maybe Mace could have used that connection to break the grip the dark side.
Instead of Anakin killing him.
As for the Jedi Order’s part in it?:
Their position led to a 1,000 years over which the Jedi slowly lost their connection to the Force to the point that they nearly stopped listening to it for guidance and such that even their strongest and wisest could not fathom that they were taking their orders from a Sith Lord whom they meet with regularly and all it took to bring the Order down was to ditch their charter to be peacekeepers and an emotionally troubled young Jedi afraid of personal loss that any level headed father figure or a good friend or a counselor should’ve been able to help straighten out if they cared enough to listen, really listen, when the boy came to them for help or guidance.
@@joxyver didn't George Lucas say that balance in the force is the light side as it is the dark side that corrupts it and sends it out of balance?

Why not make a what if on this?
I don't get it why did- Qui-Gon Jinn die on episode 1 why did Star Wars decide that
Well, he's not from the original trilogy. And the sad fact is that he had to die, so anakin can become Darth Vader in the future. Also because palpatine had maul ordered to kill him, because it would foil his plans if qui gon lived.
So if they have attachment and made sure that they would not fall to the dark side of they lose it, it would be alright.

Jedi don't allow love because offspring. It's too hard to keep track of all the force sensitives that could turn to the sith. Jedi was fearful of sith fear led to anger anger to hate and hate to suffering and not detecting Palpatine
What if Ashoka was in the Siege of Mandalore with Obi-Wan and Anakin?
There's a horrible issue of Star Wars Tales where Qui-gon explains to Obi-wan why jedi are forbidden to love, the reason was really stupid and Qui-gon acted incredibly out of character, he seemed to lecture to Obi-wan that jedi shouldn't love and suported it, if you know Qui-gon Jinn at all you should know that, that's not what Qui-gon would say to Obi-wan or anybody. Is it fair to say qui gon jinn was almost a gray Jedi?
I'd say it's the opposite. He was the full embodiment of what a Jedi was supposed to be. I'd say everyone on the council is closer to gray.
But to answer the question;
Canonically, there is no such thing as a Grey Jedi.
My personal take is that a Grey Jedi is one that’s increasingly pressing the limits between right and wrong, in danger of falling to the Darkside. Examples;
Anakin
Quinlan Vos
Jacen Solo
The Revanchists
Juhani
And we saw a few others in the Clone Wars CGI series.
It’s always a tossup as to whether they ultimately fell to the Darkside or came back to the Light thanks to intervention by their fellow Jedi.
@@eds1942 so you wouldn't consider those who left the order like Ashoka or those who were forced out but still follow the light side teachings but just not as strictly like a post Jedi counsel Luke or even canin jaris who followed the teachings of the Jedi but obviously had a relationship had a child but was led by the will of the force instead of rules and regulations of the order? I'm just curious I honestly don't know and I like making conversation not trying to argue hahaha

Unfortunately, the only reason Anakin was put on the council was so they could use him to spy on Palpatine.
