Because we Indians growing up as a child watching this sport just like European countries love soccer there is nothing wrong in it might 80% of the world don't even know what cricket is but we love this sport.
Exactly Americans are proud of their own sports, they don't care if the outside world watches them or not,for them winning their own sport is like winning the world champion

Bro test cricket is so boring half the people die before the game ends. India perfected cricket into what it is today. The adrenaline rush you get when your team needs to make 6 runs in 2 balls. That's what cricket should be about.
Cricket will grow because India is growing but it won't grow in countries like the US or Finland. Just like how baseball is so very popular in the US and aside from Japan not very many country play it seriously.

You can argue with me, but there's no denying that Franchise Cricket is the future just like Football. Don't bring the "Playing for the Country" issue. Cricketers are professional and most have very short career except some legends of the game. But they can earn by playing Franchise Cricket and have a prosperous future after retirement. Only International Cricket should be ICC tournaments. Only 11 players play in a match, but in Cricket Leagues almost 70-100 local player plays, get money and exposure.
What’s world cricket without game changers like Sachin, Kapil Dev, Sunny, MS Dhoni and many such greats who made game great success, success brings money

The single most important factor in the 90s for cricket to gain such popularity in India is Sachin Tendulkar. Without him, who knows what the interest would have been.
And this is why most of the players stay fit for IPL rather than the Indian national cricket team. Money does corrupt most of the people be it any profession.
It's not about being corrupt. Given an option, many of us would chose playing for a such a huge league & not boring bilaterals. However, every player want to play World Cup or any ICC tournament as it's the pinnacle
We should really have some more ipl like sports models in our country, like we have kabaddi and football. I would love to see the revival of old Indian sports and some other sports like basketball, rugby, tennis etc.
Cricket needs more international teams and more players playing for their respective countries. If ICC fails to grow this sport and bring in more nations then cricket will lose its appeal, especially in India.
Business is there because the game is fantastic, love cricket. Today’s cricket demand no less fitness than football, today’s cricket May be more absorbing than football. Thanks to India for making it happen❤
This video makes it look like cricket went straight from an amateur sport to IPL. They left out the fact that Kerry Packer made the game professional with World Series Cricket in between. Then later the IPL/India took it to the next level.
People hyping this up and saying it's bigger than EPL,should realise that EPL cannot be compared with IPL(read the details around it). The only thing that IPL can compared with in football is the ESL (and it doesn't exist yet). If it were to exist, here is the value. The current value of IPL is $ 6.2B. The combined value of just the teams in the proposed ESL would be $34.4B. There is no way shape or form cricket can trump football. Why? - Cricket is really followed by mostly Indians. - India has a low per capita income in dollar terms, and that means, even if you have high viewership , it won't translate into something close to what football would in terms of overall viewership. -Yes,India will grow to a 10T economy, and as Indian I'd be happy about it, but cricket's growth will primarily be in India, and Football will grow more organically across various nations.Imagine, the chinese league taking off,the middle eastern league taking off,the European Super League taking off. And what if Indian football takes off? The format of cricket and it's complexity will always take viewers away from it. Just look at the Top 20 richest sporting person in the whole world, you would probably find more American sports person,a few footballers, and possibly only one or two cricketer.
Thats just amazing...One thing I do not like is the LOW salary cap. 17 million per team? If your making 6 billion a year... Cap needsbe 100 million per team..
Awesome video ...my take on the origins of IPL is because of ICL who did what LIV did to PGA. Rocked BCCI's boat and made them more player centric rather than a bureaucratic calamity that it used to be. 😐
British kept fighting about the definition of Cricket, India kept enjoying the sport. To this day you will see English players trying to own the sport , even though they are loosing in each and every format badly 😂
India's only known for a few cricketers lol, and even with all that money coming in from the IPL your cricket team is nothing special. Besides, football is far more popular in England than cricket and we have many other sports we play as well so cricket's not our only enjoyment. I mean let's be honest India's not exactly known as a sporting nation, cricket's the only sport you're known to play and then that's only known by other cricket playing nations, not globally.
Need more teams in IPL though !10 ain't enough, need to involve cities like Trivandrum, Guwahati, Cuttack , Pune , Ranchi or Patna into the mix as well .
With the huge economy, population and being the biggest sports market on Earth, bringing cricket to the US makes sense, but is not going to be easy. It's ironic, that India is helping to fund the only market that could logically compete with the IPL.
We Indians are living for cricket. Also, How population is a power of a country this video is enough to prove. When anyone knows how to capitalise it, breaking world records are possible.

Not true, English county cricket formed the 20-20 before India & Pakistan. But India quickly conquered this format and changed the game of cricket forever.
The introduction of television in India & the economic structure revolution that happened in 1991, coupled with the wonderous rise of Sachin Tendulkar simultaneously propelled Cricket's popularity in India to the peak. The rest happened as a natural follow up.

Nali me ball gaya to lane wala murga, 😂 direct diwal pe laga to out😅, ye chize dekhte time TV me explode ho jati thi 😭 love the game of CRICKET from the bottom of my heart. ❤
Everyone is gangsta until the Internet Premier League(IPL) comes along, a cricket league for the internet.
Also for every foreign player play in IPL, 20% of player fees goes to that board which can be used to improve their own team. Everybody wins.
INDIAxCRICKET- a never ending lovestory❤
Cricket in India became popular because of one man - Sachin Tendulkar. 🏏
@@mehakdeepsingh4849 How come it’s BS?

Indians love cricket 💪🔥 it is a part of my childhood and it still is and will be
It's often said that CRICKET is a RELIGION in India. Majority of the Indian population loves this sport. I personally am a huge fan of the sport, and I feel happy to see the future prospects of this sport as BRIGHT.
Same
Cricket is an emotion for every Indian i mean let's be honest all of us as a child hoped one day I'll a big cricketer 😀😀
I am one of the minority traditionalist that still believe in the beauty of intellectual arguments and long test match duels. As a bowler myself I felt increasingly that the advantage of batsman have been increased year after year in name of entertainment. If you ever had the ability to play 4-5 day format you will know how much fun it is to play that format and how much strategy is involved instead of just slogging every other ball.
Well said the 4-5 days of test match have a lot of fun than the t20. And the strategy to build each session of the test match is 🔥🔥🔥
@@dkine5586 We all love test cricket but you know our life has become fast paced these days. We can't give 50 hrs of our week just for a test match. That is the reality
Me too 😁
T20 tournaments needed to let people like you keep enjoying test cricket, keep the game alive.... because without financial attraction less and less youth were playing cricket.
Bro test cricket is so boring half the people die before the game ends. India perfected cricket into what it is today. The adrenaline rush you get when your team needs to make 6 runs in 2 balls. That's what cricket should be about.
Alternate title- how IPL changed cricket
Before IPL also Indians are very passionate about cricket, giving credit to BCCI to get right out of it with time. ❤
Kabbadi and hockey also very famous
Days for Kabaddi is not far for global level.
@@shaileshpal8671they also play cricket😅
*CRICKET IS THE BEST SPORT* 🇮🇳
Cricket will grow because India is growing but it won't grow in countries like the US or Finland. Just like how baseball is so very popular in the US and aside from Japan not very many country play it seriously.
the next T20 world(2024) is going to be held in US so there's hope. Also this year female Cricket was part of Commonwealth games.
IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE WHETHER CRICKET GROWS IN THOSE COUNTRIES OR NOT SINCE MOST OF CRICKETS REVENUE COMES FROM INDIA. EVEN IF IT GROWS IN FINLAND IT DOES NOT MATTER SINCE FINLAND HAS A VERT SMALL POPULATION
No , it will grow their...... indian are everywhere.
In next Olympic cricket also included China even making its team !
Currently 40 countries have cricket teams
Cricket market is growing in US.
India and Mumbai Indians are my favourite teams 😊

NOT just Indians. The entire South Asia, the entire Windows, Many countries in Africa, England and Many countries in Oceania. Spreading to remaining Asian and African and European countries now. I learned that they even introduced the game to South America, especially Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.
Where r u from??
Ipl is destroying International Cricket
Many cricketers are quitting International cricket for IPL
Most of them will excuses such as injury, or personal issues but they will play all 14 Matches of IPL without any Injuries

Why don't u say same about American leagues or European football??
@@iameverywhere8551 European Leagues dominate football . La Liga , Bundesliga , Serie A , League-1 & EPL are its prime examples
What’s world cricket without game changers like Sachin, Kapil Dev, Sunny, MS Dhoni and many such greats who made game great success, success brings money
Cricket is in our blood 🤫
for some others your blood is there money…
indian football have football history, north people destroyed it, and south people respect football, what you know about indian football, is in our blood one day that came outside.
Thank Goodness for India keeping the beautiful sport of cricket alive
BCCI should support teams like
Ireland
Zimbabwe
Netherlands
And Afghanistan
We are supporting them in IPL nabi, rashid, sikandar raza, etc players inse hi unke desh wale sikh sakte hai jaise humne sachin dravid se sikha tha, important h unki country ke peoples. Australia me cricket dekha bhi jata h ye sikhna hoga bakio ko😂
The single most important factor in the 90s for cricket to gain such popularity in India is Sachin Tendulkar. Without him, who knows what the interest would have been.
Cricket 🏏 fans let’s go 🏏
The number of views on this video speaks of the power of cricket and how india has changed the game forever 😎🙌
Rest In Peace Shane Warne
The Goat 🐐
The OG
The Thumbnail should have been Of Virat Kohli instead of Rishabh Pant
Pant is really famous in Western countries since that gabba innings
More thoughtful and detailed than the CNBC video on the same subject.
India has given a lot to the world. Always appreciating this great nation.
EUROPE helped football to grow
Nd india did same for cricket
Sachin sir , MS Dhoni sir and Virat Kohli sir built the Indian cricket
No other cricketer comes even closer to them ♥️
Vroooo what about Kapil Dev???!!
It really doesn't matter as much as it boosts the economy
We should really have some more ipl like sports models in our country, like we have kabaddi and football.
I would love to see the revival of old Indian sports and some other sports like basketball, rugby, tennis etc.
Cricket needs more international teams and more players playing for their respective countries. If ICC fails to grow this sport and bring in more nations then cricket will lose its appeal, especially in India.

I'm a huge fan of crypto, I hold some few coins in my wallet.

Much awaited case study.
I personally liked the quiet period more. Well things change and evolve, so did the game of Cricket.

Awesome video ...my take on the origins of IPL is because of ICL who did what LIV did to PGA. Rocked BCCI's boat and made them more player centric rather than a bureaucratic calamity that it used to be. 😐
Truth is ipl was not in the plans for bcci but the rebel league ICL made them understand what untapped potential that they had in their hands .
In india, cricket is emotion
I wish we put this much efforts in indigenous games like Kabbadi!
Responsibility of bcci is cricket not other sports
We have the pro kabbadi league now
British kept fighting about the definition of Cricket, India kept enjoying the sport.

The prime reasonn of the popularization of Cricket in India is a Legend called Sir Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar :)
With the huge economy, population and being the biggest sports market on Earth, bringing cricket to the US makes sense, but is not going to be easy.
It's ironic, that India is helping to fund the only market that could logically compete with the IPL.
We Indians are living for cricket. Also,
How population is a power of a country this video is enough to prove. When anyone knows how to capitalise it, breaking world records are possible.

Not true, English county cricket formed the 20-20 before India & Pakistan. But India quickly conquered this format and changed the game of cricket forever.
700 million + Viewership
The introduction of television in India & the economic structure revolution that happened in 1991, coupled with the wonderous rise of Sachin Tendulkar simultaneously propelled Cricket's popularity in India to the peak. The rest happened as a natural follow up.
In India you can see people are playing cricket in every roads, grounds, park, appartments..The game rule is tough to beginner that the reason many people cannot understand the game but we are used to it and we love the game..
