Hi. I have been using a Splashdrone for fishing here in New Zealand for years. A tip. Instead of using a loop to attach your line to the drone which requires opening and closing the release, I tie a small cheap aluminium carabiner to the line where the loop would be. Then to attach it to the drone all you have to do is lift the drone in one hand and snap on the carabiner. I just tie the carabiner onto the 2m dropper line with a uni knot at the closed end. The sinker is at the bottom of the dropper attached by a clip to a 3 way swivel and then the main line attaches to the 3rd eye of the swivel. This set up will never foul at the release and is quick and easy to use.
Totally agree. The backbones with snapper traces from Paul's Fishing Systems in Onehunga that go with drones are far better and safer than the setup in this video. No risk of any pendulum effect and superior control of the drone with sinkers directly under the drone's mechanical release due to a short steel trace plus the additional payload on a long-line setup.
@@therealrelationshipguy I agree (also in NZ) and Paul's system is great for beginners but not necessarily the best either. I drone fish alone all the time and change methods according to weather and species targeted. I've had plenty of issues with Paul's rig style (I make my own though but have copied his and tested it) too. To be fair it's a lot harder doing it alone and I get way more issues because of that.
Ooh man, completely agree with not attaching the line to the drone in the air, I don't do anything with the crone in the air, just fly it and land it. I crashed mine in the early days and the blades chewed through a 7/0 hook. The propellor wasn't badly damaged and is still in circulation but the hook was cut in half. Good point.
just a note, I have experianced that a big loop at the bait drop meganisme got caught on the servo nut to the pin and thus the bait did not drop, to avoid that I made a slipknot that at the bait release pin to avoid a snag, big loop potential for a snag at the servo.
I always thought by physics the biggest weight should me close to the drone. as swinging is a real problem when it's long, so it's totally wrong and easier if I rig the sinker or bait couple metres down ?
yes, it will take a little practice to get orientation right, but the new drones are super stable. They basically park steadily in the air until you give them an input with one of the sticks.
Great info, I have purchased a FD1 for fishing, however I have only been able to calibrate it and the fly about 20 yards before the "Battery Low" indicator came on and the battery won't charge. Have been attempting to correct this issue with the company for over 2 weeks, to no avail. Buy at your own risk.
Your measurements are all over the place, no offence, maybe an editing issue, some of it didn’t make sense. What do you mean by keeping the Drone away from the props? Once again editing issue not checking that you are making sense. 👋✌️
I don't wish the swellpro on my worst enemy!!!!! I lost mine, 3 other fisherman I know lost theirs. When retrieved it happened to have water damage. Swellpro did not cover anything. Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish
thanks for the heads up, are there other brands out there that you would recommend. Am contemplating getting one but have not committed yet. Cheers from Sydney Australia
What happens when the line gets a snag with that electronic release? Down goes your drone in the drink , better get the gannet sports. Mooi so Engels se boere.

Nice Work guys, great information as planning on buying this soon.

thiucker line or smaller loop will also work
same issue many times
Excelente material. Thanks for sharing
Excellent video thanks

Think of it like a ships anchor. They lay out a lot of chain to help keep them in place. Basically the same principle here.
Is there an English version of this video?
Wheres d sinker?
I’ve never flown a drone before. Are they easy ? I’m interested in one of these to target tope from the shore

👍👍👍
way too complicated... I drone fish all the time and don't do any of that crazy stuff and I do it alone too
Agreed.
darn, that was complicated...
yea way too geeky... I drone fish all the time without all that nonsense
@@bushmanphotoshow what drone
very good information Thank you.
There is no need to have that long of a lead from the release.. if your sinker is at the bottom it’ll hang below the drone..
Anyone else watch it go haywire as they tried to fly it out?
It did hey.
Looks like it jolted back. And the rod tip got into shot pretty quick.
Great vid though.

Just to let you know Fisheries just realised a law 24Feb2022...banning Drone fishing, motorized bait boats etc...check it out !
That's more than 2 meters i think 3🤔

Any one have a diagram of the rig set-up
Who says Drone fishing takes 2 people? Are you saying that i can’t do it alone? 😢
It’s possible but tricky and there’s greater margin for error
No fish or just working lol
Horrible explanation of that knot, been rewatching this video for hours and it slips every damn time
Science or common sense lol!

@@cococharliematenga4829 hi. Yes I recommend the cuta copter.
All my friends fish with them and never 1 issue.
@@cococharliematenga4829 I stopped drone fishing for now.
@@vincedumitru1465 Thanks mate, will def do some more research on these and thanks for the advice.
Real fishermen don’t catch n release, get your catch and go home. Catch n release is cruel, awful to see it in the intro video..
Cruel? Whats cruel is over fishing.
Thats humans for you. There'll be nothing left in a few decades. You need educating
@@paulmilsommusic catch n release has nothing to do with over fishing they’re both shitty..
