Good video, as someone who has played since Vanilla, I like to watch videos like this. But I think you should make a Faction Guide too, for new players, where you explain a bit about the races, and morales of the Horde and Alliance, to give people an idea of what they are all about. Just like how you did with the classes. I think that would be extremely helpful for new players to choose what faction they like better. I know you've already made a basic part 1 where you briefly mentions it, but I think a more in-depth look like the classes, would be good.
"The power of christ compels you!" in your Holy Priest just caught me off guard! lol Aw gud. XD Also the hand on the floor at the right of the screen near the end of the video as you say peace.... the hand rises as if to say bye too. lol
i play wow for like 6 years but still watched the video. just wanted to say that you maked every class look really interesting and cool for new players. perfect video dude.
I thank you so much. I have always wanted to try WoW but never had a solid simple video showing how a game works out instead of being overly complicated. Wonderful video.
I actually appreciate this video so much, I played WoW for about a week a few years ago but was just so confused about it all. Watching this helped me get a better sense of what's out there. I think I might start playing again.
I just wanted to say thanks. I was out of WoW for some years and I basically forgot everything about how to play. This really helped me decide (because I did a class change) what and how to play when I came back. THANK YOU!
Sometimes I feel the urge to play WoW, but then I remember the overwhelming UI the game has and the urge flies off. Haha. But these are the classes I found interesting for my playstyle: Hunter, Paladin and Rogue. Thank you very much, for doing what the forums couldn't do, explaining the basics in a very friendly and easy way.
I'd actually recommend new players start with the demon hunter if they have played MMOs before and want to get into WoW, at least as it currently stands. They start with a fairly interesting starting zone and the toolkit is really simple to understand at a basic level. The tanking is a bit less intuitive but that is an option for later. Havoc (dps) Demon hunters are arguably the strongest class in solo world content currently being able to kill mobs that would require 2 or 3 players ordinarily through some specific talent-choices. They are also very competative in dungeons and i raids. The design of the class is to burst down stuff quickly and with powerful abilities and then calm down and use 3-4 abilities in combat to regenerate resources. Keep in mind that this is just currently though, when you get more deeply into WoW you'll get what I mean. The game changes and the class you picked one expansion might change when the next one hits and not only might the spells change but it might also change how powerful your class feels in the open world. One last thing to keep in mind when entering the endgame content is that you are pretty much expected to know what is going on after week 2 of an expansion in every raid and dungeon if you play on a competative level, or if you play a tank or healer. Now a less popular thing: i recommend not playing a priest currently as a new player. There is nothing wrong with them in a raiding or group environment but they are the weakest class when it comes to world content on low gearlevels, which is you when you are leveling and when you hit 110. Again, if you want a rewarding healer then disc probably is one of the best ones but it's hard to play and you can get a good healing experience on other classes.
Still pretty new to the game but I’ve got a level 30 troll hunter on retail and a level 20 undead warlock on classic. Thanks to your guides I’m getting the hang of the game more and more.
I would love to see another video like this only maybe like an hour or hour and a half long where you go into much greater detail because this video was so good.
i'll just add more information here about the classes Mage: Frost: a moving caster depending on either controlling your opponents, then aoe them while having to focus the most on your hp and your positioning since the low survivability. Fire: bursting them down before they get to you while moving. And arcane is boring, but good in lower lvls. Hunter: cool pets and all, not a lot of abilities to use, will mostly be spamming one or two buttons Warrior: rage ingame, rage irl. its essentially hunter just in your face with more abilities to spam on your keyboard Priest: everyone will secretly hate you for being shadow, but sscretly endorse you for being a (good) healer. not much more to say Druid: as a feral (melee) its extremely important to know what ability you used last so you can combo another ability, this requires a lot of focus if you want to do good dmg. Boomie (ranged) is about upkeeping dots, then do massive aoe or single dmg burst restoration: keep up the hots, and is more of the spammy type of healers. Guardian: building up rage to use abilities to reduce dmg or deal dmg, Demon hunter: havoc: one ability does damage (eye beam) the rest are mini dmg with few abilities but a lot of movement Tank: putting down sigils to either do dmg or silence etc... and is less spammy than warrior but with fewer abilities. Shaman: enchantment (meele) in your face, building up maelstrom, and relies on procs to deal dmg (yellow flashy ability) Elemental: essentially spamming chain lightning in aoe situation, otherwise lava burst and procs restoration: totems can help you heal, stun otherwise its spamming healing surge, healing wave or chain healing. Monk: Windwalker: built up on using multiple abilities to reduce cd on fists of fury so you can use it again, to do good dmg on both single target and aoe. Brewmaster: this require most focus of the tanks since you have to build your gameplay around stagger (damage over time on yourself) which you get when enemies hit you, you'll need to use abilities to make enemy dmg convert to stagger so you may remove the dmg. Mistweaver: totem, start healing, sometimes use cd's like enveloping mist if you have to Warlock: Demonology: based on getting soulshards to then summon lot of imps to convert them into a demonic tyrant. along with other summons to help you get there. Affliction: keep dots up at every enemy you see infront of you, then spam unstable affliction on one target to deal lots of dmg over time. Destruction: good aoe, somewhat weak abilities since its based around you getting the chaos bolt to do massive burst dmg. Death knight: Unholy: controlling undead army, closest to a necromancer, not much else to say. cant say what the other specs are (don't know) Rogue: Assasination: keep up dots, meele version of affliction with based on energy and points instead Subltelty: pvp based on bursting down an enemy right after popping out of invis. I made this mistake so I can feel confident in saying this, even though punching things to death sounds glorious, i wouldnt do monk as your first class like I did, it's easy to level up with the enlightenment buff you get every day but when you get the talent hit combo coupled with the mastery (which deals a certain percent more damage if the ability you used is different from your previous one) its really hard to manage your resources (chi and energy) while making sure your hit combo stays up, monks are a skill intensive class and should be your second or third character after you have reached level cap and experienced some of the end game content for whatever expansion youre on (as I write this legion is the current expansion but battle for azeroth is coming out soon)
