Ex-Mormon viewer, I feel so bad for JWs. It’s a nightmare to imagine taking seriously what these men say. Probably the worst mainstream religion to be born into.
My parents were Methodist in 1959 when I was four. My grandmother was in hospital dying from cancer. There was a JW patient in the same room that got my parents interested in JWs. Iooking back I believe that JWs take advantage of people when they’re at their lowest.

I was supposed to graduate high school in 1975. Instead, because "the end" was coming, I didn't go to college. It definitely impacted my life. My Mom and my sister are still in the religion. My Mom is going to pass away and "the end" will not have come. It's so sad.
I did not give a damn about their advices of high education. My son graduated in University and now has great job.

I was raised a Jw in the 1960’s and “the end” was preached as being imminent…especially around 1975. They say that “this convention was the best ever” every year.
When I was still a JW, I used to love messing with JWs who said, “this convention was the best ever”. After they said that and went on and on about all the great points that were made, I'd ask them what their favorite point was? Deer in the headlights stare. They couldn't think of one.
It just proved that they repeated the same old mantra without ever really thinking about it. It's how JWs convince themselves that all the time and expense that a convention costs is somehow worth it.

Adamantium Bullet used to ask same thing when they said watchtower study was best ever. Couldn't get a answer back. That's when I realised, hey most of this people are here just because of family and friends 😁. I didn't have family in org and just didn't cc really have reason attending meetings again.

A lot of guilt in these videos, they have made life like an episode of beaches with Bette Middler. I wonder if soldiers, who could die on their next engagement, or pilots prior to take off, went and moped around, would live have been better. If the Jews had known in advance re Hitler would they have benefited themselves by moping about it, or getting the hell out? Whilst one must take the good with the bad, how is it that JW's own lawyers have lied to courts dating back from Douglas Walsh in 1954 up to recent cases (Canada Randy Wall case, USA Montana case Phillip Brummell Lead JW Council fined 154K for a sustained effort to mislead the court, deregistration of the religion (Norway) and Finland (not able to collect personal data without consent). The closed community of JW's along with the shunning and disfellowshipping process which JW use is a evil, torturous and even murderous device. The bent and twisted reasoning to gain more members is psychological warfare, guilt, fear, doubt - opposite of self empowerment. This is not about God this is about deifying the organisation instead of looking at each case on its own set of facts. One can have bad habits but elders dressed in suits that spoke well molested children. They didnt look or sound like child molesters, but rather probably quite pious and convincing. Jehovah's timetable or the Governing bodies timetable. Lot of passive aggressive remarks used, lack of respect for other people and for intelligence. Thank you ExJW Panda, one can only use humour to deal with these people, they self sabotage.

The org manipulates words and gives them their own meanings. "Privileges" in JW world means something you should strive for when all it actually is.. is that you get to do work for the org for FREE promoting their agenda. I hate this cult....so manipulative!

I’ve been learning about this cult for different reasons, Im a Christian and I have a relationship with Jesus, I have seen miracles sings and wonders for the glory of God, and so far I see that the god watchtower preach is a distant, divider and punishing not the God that I know of, I have so many jw friends and they always seem to be and worry and fear about not getting disfellowship, I will keep praying so the Holy Spirit will tear down the cover in their eyes

Reasonable advice and it's not from the Bible. So I waited to see if they'd drag out a Bible verse to suggest that God's wisdom was behind that. Nope. Just says that someone 'slow to anger is....' Fine. But the point is he isn't slow to anger and doesn't know how to break that cycle. The Biblical advice is frankly useless and what passes for so much communication these days when it says everything and nothing.
