    This experimental lab training is very effective way to teach a technique, much better than just demoing a move with two people.

    My blue belt friend tells me not to pull peoples heads back when I'm working for the RNC, but I see Emily and Marcelo do it, seems to be one of the only ways to work for it, and I feel it's safe. Should I keep doing it? What are other ways?

    i dont know if its legal but instead of trying to pry loose their hands, could you instead shove their elbow up? front delt and pec vs internal rotation (essentially, as their elbow is far from their body). you'd have mechanical advantage and they'd expel a fair bit of energy holding you there. i don't do martial arts btw, just interested in it as an observer.

    She is flippin Class. Don't think she's irritated, she's just laying down the law, as in - ' Don't ask me 5 questions, cut down and only transition into 2 important questions!! 😄. Just like the techniques!! 👌

    As long as you are not violently trying to tear off their heads, a gentle pull to create space for your choking arm (which shouldn't require much space) is fine. Other ways to go about the RNC would be making room with the choking hand itself, which I've seen Marcelo do as well. Again, same principle lies with this method. Don't excessively carve open your opponent's chin/jaw, but just glide your thumb side of your hand in a smooth, rhythmic motion to create space.

    I was taught to turn the collar the other way, i wonder if it makes much of a difference, as that way makes it much tighter too

    She mentions the DVD, is this not in the DVD series? If not, then what is this footage part of? I already ordered the set, so I'm just wondering how much of this she delves into on the set.

    hey can someone explain me why the hell she don't cross her ankles together when she's in rear mount i never understood that ? I think it would be much harder for the opponent to come out of the rear mount right ?

    • @taggebagge
      @taggebagge 6 лет назад

      I think you are right in that it would be harder for the opponent to get out, vut crossing the ankles in rear mount is not a good idea since your opponent can simply ankle lock you.

    • @travellcriner6849
      @travellcriner6849 6 лет назад

      I'm FAR from a seasoned bjj practitioner. However, I've heard from experts that the ankle lock fear is, for the most part, superficial. You're only in real danger of an ankle lock if your legs are too low. Even still, in a real fight, what's a broken ankle when you've put your opponent to sleep?
      That said, my understanding of the hook preference in rear mount is a strong opponent could find it easier to make it to his feet without em. Your back mount won't save you from being dropped on your skull when that happens.
      Again, i am NOT an expert.

      This comment was SIX years ago but listen....don’t do that ln a grappling match. lm sure you’d be fine against someone ln the street but a grappled will ankle triangle you and break your foot ln a second. lts incredibly easy to do.

      so BBJ is kinda useless

    • @martinbarba7689
      @martinbarba7689 10 лет назад +2

      Ronald Book in that line of thinking, electronics are useless, you can´t stop a bullet with an ipad...
      There are some techniques against weapons in Judo and BJJ (and ALL martial arts) but if you are a 2 yards from the armed guy you need a gun too. The martial arts are focused in hand to hand combat; if someone wants to nuke your city, the krav maga, the shaolin don´t apply, you use a nuke too

    • @ronaldbook8179
      @ronaldbook8179 10 лет назад

      yeah but people don't buy electronics to protect themselves, people learn BBJ to protect themselves so your comparison is stupid.

    • @ZombiePanda501
      @ZombiePanda501 10 лет назад +5

      Ronald Book Most people don't learn BJJ for self defense. BJJ is for 1v1 unarmed situations mainly, most people just like the sport aspect of it. That being said don't ask such fucking stupid questions
