Go check out JJs triangle escape video. His last resort escape will blow your mind. Ive tried it and it seems to be really effective. JJM is an absolute legend.
Watching JJM move and roll is like watch a true master at work. If I'm able to understand 20% of what he knows and how he applies it, I've conquered life lol On 3, 1-2-3..... . OSSSS!!!!!
Great detail, I love to fall towards that side to attack but I was forgetting that the opponent can put me flat on my back and escape like this. Thanks for sharing.
Notes to self: In order of priority: 1. Pinch the opponent's 'under' arm with our armpit, and monitor the opponent's 'over' arm with our hand; to delay the choke. 2. Push off both our feet to the point where our body is parallel to the floor; to raise our shoulders (difficult angle for the opponent to choke). 3a. Tilt and shift our body so that our head is closer to the floor than the opponent's head. 3b. Our head should be in between the floor and the opponent's head when we flatten to floor. 4. Point our foot outward and flatten our leg the same side as the opponent's 'under' arm side so our back is on the floor (because that is the only direction of our escape). 5. Hip escape, push down on the opponent's leg to free our bottom leg, and work to get full or half guard (all while always monitoring the opponent's 'over' arm).
One of the worst things I see in BJJ is when some dorks watching the teacher's demo move around to see a particular angle only to block your view in complete disregard. Dorks. Before you show up to BJJ, learn respect. That said, the details brought up here are gold! Thank you master!
I never noticed he has no fingers on one hand. Holy crap. That’s incredible
Best instructional online for fundamental back escape
