@Mage From the moment Barret refused Cloud's help with the Sector 5 reactor I knew this was going to be a vastly different retelling than the original. It hasn't disappointed so far.
I didnt like the react of the bottom right girl, she was clearly reacting to make reaction into her stream
U can tell by watching the 5 from middle to left, they were so inmersed into the ending they did react little absorving what the ending did for everyone
My state was exactly that of the girl who started crying nonstop, and even now, despite the fact that a whole year or more has passed already, I still can't stop crying for everything that wake up in my heart every time I see this scene.
Although I still have hope that there is still a chance that Zack will be alive this time, the voice inside me tells me it's just a false hope, this hurts more than anything I've ever known.
@Mage nah Nomura turned into Kingdom Hearts with that shit ending. The series will either be better or completely suck. I am very skeptical with the next installment, and will not buy it and only watch playthroughs on here to see what it turns into.
But it won't be different. And it's not a retelling, it's a sequel.
What happens in Remake happens after FF7. Even the title "Remake" doesn't actually mean "remake" in the conventional of the word when related to a videogame. That is one of the reasons why the second installment isn't called "Remake Part 2" but "Rebirth".
And still, they won't be vastly different, just as "Remake" wasn't. Yes, they added things, a chapter that wasn't there in the Original, a battle with Sephirtoth (a clone) that wasn't there, but what REALLY changed in the end? The team met in Midgar, they fought Shinra, they found out about Sephiroth, they escaped Midgar, they are heading to Kalm. Up to this point the main "checkpoints" are EXACTLY as the original. Even the Arbiters of Fate's sub-plot won't be relevant anymore after being defeated, it was just a storytelling trick to unlock a parallel path.
I'm betting here and now: there will be new things, there will be some kind of Zack sub-plot that they'll somehow tie in with ours (without compromising it), but they will all be irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, the path will be the same, the main events will remain (Yes, Aerith's too, maybe a bit different, maybe even at a different time, but it will happen..).
Just think about it logically: FF7 is arguably the most beloved game in history, they'd be mental to change it radically, it could cost them the entire FF franchise and they will never risk it.

I’m VERY new to RUclips uploading for my gameplay so I may be a itty bitty RUclipsr but on my streams I am always talking about my Final Fantasy love, collection and obsession. FINAL FANTASY IS LIFE!

I'm 30 now and this moment fuck my childhood but in the good way, I accept anything change they made to this game, I was shocked to see zack alive in maybe in other timeline and I am happy for it , it made cry on the last final scene . If the next game is change I will support it.

I found it insane that Sephiroth pretty much blocked Clouds Omnislash blow for blow. That was a cool sword fight.
Yeah, they recreated that scene from the original so nicely. From Cloud falling from the sky and Sephiroth looking up. The Samurai showdown with the quick cuts of both characters.So cool to see it recreated with today's tech.

One of my favorite moments seeing them come together like the Avengers!
The theory is, in another timeline, zack lives and if that's the case then at least I know that he got to spend time with Aerith more which makes me happy joe.
Will he be able to stay in Midgar, though? He and Cloud would be pursued by Shinra to the ends of Gaia.

i think when they went through the portal on the highway they went into an alternate reality. Defeating the whispers was a singularity event that transcends all time. so no matter where you are in the universe/universes or time ( past, present, future ) that singularity can be seen by all of it and it effects all of it. So now that the party have defeated destiny, things that already happened can now change ( zack surviving ) and things that were going to happen can now change. Mako poisoned Cloud will not survive in this reality that they traveled to so he'll die instead of Zack now is my theory. Zack being alive is gonna be a huge piece of this story. Maybe the most important piece. We'll find out over the next 5 years i guess lol
These reactions are all me during this scene. Theorizing, hoping, not understanding a thing that is happening, drooling over the characters and just crying for Zack. Actually that last one is just my life since I've known Crisis Core.

The Cloud vs Sephiroth fight is so well choreographed. I've seen many, but this easily takes one of the top spots in terms of animation quality, sound, choreography and the atmosphere resulting of all of them packed into one incredible scene..
This is one of most well done reaction mashups I've seen on RUclips! The audio is so clear for each steamer, and the balance between them and the game audio is perfect! Also, some of my favorite content creators on here :)

I am honestly surprised that they went off the rails in the final moments of the remake. I was at the edge of my seat when I seen Zack. I thought they were going to show his end but he is alive now. Alternate universe maybe? Those seven seconds. I wonder what Cloud did. This can only mean some good things for the rest of the Final Fantasy 7 remake parts. I hope.
the 7 seconds refers to the time it took for Sephiroth to murder Aerith.
It's definitely another reality, or they created a new one due to their actions. The last act of this game talks about fate, destiny, can you change the future, etc a lot. Not to mention all the quick glimpses of the future like Aerht's death, and Red XIII and his kid running through the desert from the original. Don't forget that when the crew walked through the portal, they ended up in Midgar, but another reality's Midgar, it seemed.

Just finished Crisis core for the first time a week ago and seeing Zack carry Cloud, passing him and Aerith at the end... It hit me hard.
SOOOO interesting to see the reactions of people who don't know who Zack is vs people who ABSOLUTELY know who Zack is.
God dammit, I know there are mixed opinions about the changes to the actual game but the characters are so spot on. Like when Sephiroth is smiling while deflecting Clouds attacks, that alone gives me more goosebumps than many other game villains I have come across. His intimidation to both you and the Cloudis felt so thoroughly in this scene.
I can’t explain how much I love the die hard fans reaction like max , nyxi and Aruuu , it hits even harder everytime watching it again

People who didnt like this game simply couldn't comprehend what was happening. I feel bad for people that never played the original or know about Crisis Core. The alternate timeline bit is BRILLIANT. Keep alot of the core events but keep us guessing to what happens. Zack being alive, Aerith Lives, different characters die. It's going to be a wild ride.

Almost two years old and I still weep when I see this.
My reactions to the end of this game were almost exactly like b_ri. Jaw dropped and repeating everything I recognized. Mix that in the reactions of CohhCarnage and the extreme surprise, especially when Biggs was alive and Zack came back. I was shocked when Wedge made it, and I wonder if we are going to see Jessie back as well. I am not going to lie, I was in tears at the end and kept trying to make sense of it like Aruuu. Yunalescka was right, seeing Zack just makes you want to cry. This game was very well made and probably the best I have played.
My favorite line that aerith says is “I miss it. The steel sky” AND IM LITERALLY GOING TOO BREAK IT DOWN FOR YOU!
I’m going to sound extremely nerdy but here I go!
She says “I miss it. The steel sky” this is because midgar is full of slums (areas with slums are extremely poor an dangerous) the steel sky gives her a sense of safety from the big outside world. So her missing the steel sky suggests hat her home and safety was taken away from her.
Also the steel sky she refers to could be a metaphor for the security of knowing how the original FF7 timeline, as we already know Aerith seems to have some connection to fate. By defeating the whispers of fate, they have defeated whatever blocks them from acting dissimilarly from the original timeline- thus giving them “boundless, terrifying freedom” to act of their own will and “make it right” or whatever Aerith meant by that. The steel sky symbolises the security of knowing future events, and thats why she misses it: she knows the party will probably go through events unmarked in the original.
Just a theory though.
Because of this game I became a ff fan, ff7 remake is my favorite video game of all time

FF VII Remake was my first FF game and it's definitely one of my favourite games!
My favourite is Persona 5 Royal, but FF VII Remake is up there for sure! Alongside Persona 4 Golden, Final Fantasy XV - Royal Edition and probably Final Fantasy X.
I really liked Final Fantasy IX as well, but I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite games.
I haven't watched Aruuu and I've played this a ton since release but her reaction alone at the end got me all teary man.

I just love that when Sephiroth "explodes", it explodes in the same color scheme as his final boss fight on the OG

Hmm, well Sephiroth did want to invite Cloud and did not take it too hard when Cloud rejected that offer.
Obviously in his conscious Cloud still knows the old Sephi was the one that murdered his hometown but his Jenova Cells react to the "Reunion" which doesn't seem to be fazing Sephiroth anymore (That is a big hint. While he still did a few things according to "canon" he remained much calmer and collected when executing them. He even killed Barret only knowing he would live).
Meaning Sephiroth is back being the one in Crisis Core. A man of pride and even honor. A Man that is very likely trying to break the chains that are being cast on him by Jenova. Because his fate is bound to her, he needs to go against destiny. But for what reason does he need Cloud will be seen in the next games. Maybe?
He seems only to be able to influence the events in those that he lived and had enough power to act or else it would be simple for him killing Hojo before he injects him with Jenova cells.
I really have to say Hojo is a fuckin maniac. Injecting his own son with Jenova Cells like that...
I only just realized, today, that the nebula in the distance in the final confrontation between Cloud and Sephiroth looks a lot like Bizarro Sephiroth and even has his color scheme, to a degree. Probably nothing, but it was striking in the moment.
Last year was such a great year for games. I don’t know if I’ll ever have the experience I had seeing this ending play out ever again. I can’t believe it exists.

From an OG FFVII player perspective, I have absolutely no clue how this is gonna pan out and that makes it that more perfect which I didn’t think they could do.
Do you know what I just thought of? We should count how many attacks Cloud makes in the ending cinematic and compare it to how many strikes are supposed to happen in Omnislash from the original? Did Sephiroth just *block* Omnislash... because he knew it was coming? ;D Food for thought.
He did, he blocked all of them. Your theory is right. Although the original had many more swings and was pretty frontal. Could also be that he disrupted it and said "Not yet!"
I really like the fact you didn't went mainstream and actually chose some actual quality streamers. Yunaleska underated. Louise is a jewel, Maxi and Cohh are wise. This is a great streamer roster
When you take note of all the amazing details that they *chose* to implement in this remake, it really, really gives you the impression that people that love(d) this game, MADE this game and that seems incredibly important to me. At the end of all things, when Cloud and Sephiroth square off, it's amazing the funny, creeping details you can get in the flippin' nebula in the background at various points - they resemble Sephiroth in his final forms (not his human form) and then, not only that, they give you a chance to recreate, full-on, the ORIGINAL GAME'S MAIN MENU if you take the Buster Sword into the final battles and have it end up quivering in the ground after Cloud is disarmed. They knew what they were doing and it was (is) beautiful.
And the nebula - look at them. Their color schemes, their shapes (especially the really colorful one, blue/white/gold) : )
Seems like the main theme of the game was fighting against “Fate”, & they defeated “Fate” & managed to change the storyline?
Cloud was never a Soldier but he wore Soldier’s uniform at the end. He was supposed to wear a normal foot soldier’s uniform. (Cloud changing his fate?)
Zack wasn’t supposed to be alive. (Aerith’s fate was changed?)
This is one of the best game that I’ve played so far! Can’t wait for part 2. Maybe eventually in that game they’ll realise that they can’t change Fate and the storyline will be back to the usual one. Hahaha

IDK why this only now dawned on me but... with all the other shit that's getting changed... what if Marlene wasn't reacting to Barret at the end? I know the cutscene shows Barret, but... with all the changes... could we see "the other man with a gun for an arm" see a similar change of fate to Zack and the Avalanche crew?

Only the ones that played the original, had the true reaction to this when we played the remake. The scene where you go in the “tunnels” from that first second WE KNEW.... what lies at the bottom. The rest was completely unexpected for sure. If they never played the original, they will never understand.
