  • In this video I review my REL 1205HT 12" subwoofer.
Used for Dolby Atmos home Theater 7.1.4 setup!
I have lived with this subwoofer for just over a year now and I've watched most of my favorite movies and listened to tons of music on this subwoofer.
Watch this video to hear my thoughts on how it sounds and compares to my old Klipsch r-112sw Subwoofer.
REL vs Klipsch! Which one comes out on top ?! and sounds better?
    Sounds demos included!

I have 3 of the 1205 in my Living Room, and they Sound Amazing. Ive optimized them with REW and Mini DSP. Best Subs ive ever had.

    Interesting!
I have one of each of the subs you compared along with a SVS SB2000.
I have used all three at once on occasion. Usually the SB 2000 and REL 1205 in oppsite corners front and back. The Klipsch 112 near field behind my main listening position.
REL is definitely tighter than the Klipsch due to lack of slotted port.
3 12" subwoofer party is happy listening for me when life allows.
Thumbnail of the recognizable copper cone and slotted port of the 112 is what hooked me into watching and responding immediately.

Yes Until I upgrade to a new 15" sub I will probably just run the Klipsch with my REL

What crossover settings have you set and where? (SUB vs AV)

Great comparison! The REL has more depth, definition, and slam. I have an older REL Q108 and will replace it with a larger REL or a JL Audio sub.

Great video! If you like the clarity and “speed” (not really an accurate term) of a sealed sub, I would recommend checking out the HSU ULS-15 MK2. It is a 15” sealed sub that only costs $100 more than the 12” REL.
It has much more output and bass extension than REL. IMO, a lot of REL’s claims are marketing fluff. REL subwoofers are not “faster” or more “musical” than another competently designed sealed subwoofer.

You’re not doing yourself any favor with 1 sub in that nice theater. . Also I recommend not using your iPhone for sound recordings especially since you gave amble time to footage that did not convey your intentions. Look forward to your review when you have added a couple of 15s.
    Best regards
