  • This video shows how to replace the oil cooler on a Mercedes E350 (model year 2008) - W211 body style, M272 engine.
The oil cooler developed an oil leak at the gasket area impacting the engine components below it (such as belt tensioner and the serpentine belt). The repair required a replacement of the oil cooler gasket.

Great video. I need to do this to ours also. I figure i can replace a $6 gasket before I invest in a $300 oil cooler assy part replacement. Also liked the magnet 🧲 trick!

🤔So no need to drain coolant?

You told us the cap torque, but no mention of which cap (the size measurement) used on the oil filter housing. You also did not mention the torque on the oil cooler housing cap bolts or the size of the T socket used on the the oil cooler housing case. Torque is very important on Mercedes. To be the best servant you have to think of the people who need the service and be thorough.
