    Great Tutorial on this engine. This is same set up for R350 Mercedes too.
    Very precise and right to the point on explanation.
    Because of this video and your channel. I was able to do my very first. Thermostat replacement. I went ahead and did the water pump. I changed the gaskets only for the oil filter housing. I changed a new belt tensioner and new idler pulleys. I went ahead and cleaned the EGRs and replace those gasket since I had everything in the front off.
    Im a huge fan of your channel and thank you so much for providing these high quality tutorials for us. I always had my buddy mechanic to work with but now I can solely do it myself. I have been buying professional tools for a long time so it makes the job easier watching you do it. I really appreciate you giving us so much confidence to this these jobs. It really isnt that difficult to do this fixes you have demonstrated a very good thorough and professional quality repair

    Hey man question ? So I have an 06 e350 that was leaking oil form oil filter housing. Bought new oil filter housing and new thermostat housing from Mercedes. As I was bleeding system, there is now oil in coolant reservoir ? Any ideas ?

    • @glasser2819
      @glasser2819 4 года назад

      if it is a lot of engine oil in coolant than your heat exchanger has reached its scheduled failure interval.
      Also consider investigating and servicing your "crankcase venting" system! Yours is likely plugged up causing your oil seals to get overpressured (blown up exchanger!) from engine blow-by gases not able to escape... Benz really good at designing system failures into a business model.
      Thank god low pressure coolant does not mix into high pressure oil or else the "mayo" would kill the engine cylinders.
      LONG STORY SHORT: Inspect under-sized BREATHER PIPES for blockage
      👍

    Can i just change the housing gasket instead of the entire housing?. I already changed the gasket on the cooler itself. That job was harder than doing this entire housing removal. Had i know i would have done it this way and changed both gaskets then instead of buying an entire new housing. This was a great diy and it allows you to change the thermostat at the same time while fixing housing gasket leak. Do you know if you have to drain the oil to do the housing replacement?

However, I noticed that there is oil remains on the oil filter housing so I thought that it might be the reason.
