WOW! My Best LACING Yet - With Gorgeous METALLICS - Acrylic Pouring Swipe Technique
HTML-код

- After my last video where I tried to swipe with paper towel and failed. I resorted to using the palette knife and noticed it was working better. So I decided to go all in and do puddles with a big swipe and stretch. I was so happy to see the lacing opening up. Then to stretch and it to maintain a good shape! I finally think I'm getting somewhere with this swipe technique.

I must say, I never heard of lacing. At first, I wasn’t impressed with your color choices. HOWEVER…the longer I watched, the more mesmerised I became. This piece is GORGEOUS! So much movement and texture! I LOVE your art! Thank you for sharing your talent.👍❤️
Thank you very much Cindy 😊
Fiona, that stripe with no lacing is just fine. It adds a little variety, interest… draws the eye to move around. The whole thing is beautiful.
The natural colors are so appealing to me. thank you,It looks like our colors here in Utah
Thanks Kathleen. 😊 I'm thinking about exploring these colours again 😉
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING . ONE OF THE BEST LACING PAINTINGS EVER !
Wow, thank you Gary! So glad you liked it 😊
Don't expect perfection! That's what piece of creation is. Don't need to be ruined w perfection. Enjoyed it greatly. As many as I watched, this is a finished piece. Though it's not my favorite type of art. Thank you. It's very talented
Thank you 😊
Beautiful. The space without lacing gives it variety.
Thank you :)
I think you were being too hard on yourself. The lacing should never cover the entire painting. The streaks and lines without the lacing break up and enhance the overall artwork. These colours are gorgeous and I am really looking forward to using them myself. Great job.
Thank you 😊 I'm learning that I quite often change my mind on a price after I step away and look at it with fresh eyes. 🙂
I agree.
I was thinking the same thing!
Agreed
I love it❤
After its cured four 3-4 weeks, a coat of varnish may bring your metallics back to a high shine. Lovely lacing! 😊
That's a good idea Angel. Thank you 😊
It's definitely worth a coat or two of varnish to bring back the shine. As you get deeper on your journey, some paintings will scream for resin. ❤
@@emilyflotilla931 Thanks. Yeah one step at a time 😉 so many things to look forward too 😊
@@emilyflotilla931I was thinking resin as well to give it that depth.

It amazes me how long you can do this stuff and still it's a thrill when something comes out perfectly. It's a very difficult artwork but it's I'm addicted to it I have to keep going back to it I don't know why. Because I don't know what to do with the abstract so I'm not selling them I sell landscapes and portraits don't have a market around here in the country for abstracts. Thank you very. What I like the most was your humility.❤
Thank you very much! Some art you just have to do for yourself! I would love to do some landscapes. I don't think I'd be very good at portraits. 😊
I enjoyed watching the process I found myself holding my breath a few times I was truly captured . You inspire me I look forward to trying this technique! All the best . One Love 🙏🏽💙
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
It's beautiful! I would love to even come close to making something similar.. My dad would love one like this. Plus, you give me the incentive to try a technique I'm scared of. Thanks for showing this beautiful piece of art.
Thank you very much! 😊
This is so beautiful! I will have to try this technique. And the top where you mentioned you hadn't done anything with that area, in my opinion, that area gives the eye a chance to rest and it came out beautiful.
Thank you Clarissa 😊. Yes you are right about giving the eye a chance to rest. I'm going to make some pieces soon with some deliberate negative space I think 👍
I agree, sometimes the negative space of the bits without lacing where you have blocks of plain colour are necessary and take a painting from beautiful to a whole extra level of stunning.
Шикарная работа! Шикарное сочетание цветовой гаммы!!!
Thank you ☺
Just gorgeous Fiona! I've viewed this a few times and have finally got around to commenting! I love the shine. Love the cells. Loved watching it being stretched... and the magic happened! It's all so beautiful. 😊
Thanks again Marian. This is quite popular this one 😉 glad you enjoyed it!
It is absolutely finished piece of art. Don't be critical, that's what art is about! ❤
I actually like the lacing "bunching up" because as it opens, it creates more movement in the piece❤
👍 Thank you 😊
Beautiful job! Definitely keep on creating beautiful works of art like this one. Would love to see how things progress!
Thank you Jacqueline ! Will do! I definitely want to practice this some more 😉
I like the strip without lacing as well. It really sets the lacing apart and I think makes for a nicer painting. Very beautiful
Thank you 😊
هل الأبيض به سليكون
WOW Fiona, you nailed it! Beautiful colours, some dreamy soft areas and some really sharp contrasts, I really love that about your piece. Looking forward to seeing how the next piece goes with different colours. So good you are enjoying your art journey. Thank you for sharing, take care.
Thanks so much Lisa! It's great when the practice finally pays off and something clicks. I'm glad you liked it 😊
Oh my Goodness that is so beautiful x
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous outcome on this cell painting. I love cells!!!
Thank you so much Maria! 😊
Your piece is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your process🥰
You are so welcome!
I love that you used a chuck! 😂 So clever! Not many people even know what that is
Lovely colours
Thank you! Cheers!
It came out absolutely beautiful, I love it! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Very pretty piece.
One tip I have learned from other fluid artists (such as Molly from Molly's Artistry and Johnny from J Mo Painting) is when stretching a swiped piece, stretch to one area and then bring the weight of the paint back into the centre and before you stretch out in a different direction. This makes the lacing less fragile and prone to breaking and bunching.
I'm no expert so this may be completely wrong but it looked like you had a lot of paint on the canvas (it could also just have been the camera angle etc) so that also may have contributed to the cracking that you got? It could also be the brand difference like you said so maybe it's something that will just need trial and error?
Molly (Molly's Artistry) has a couple of videos where she has done metallic puddle pours very similar to this and I would definitely recommend having a watch of those as she's amazing (and such a sweet lady, so much fun to watch!) and maybe you can get some tips?
This is really gorgeous though, you are very right to be proud of it! 😊
Thank you Littlewings 😊. I follow both those artist they are great 😍 I'm still trying to understand the tilting process and how to achieve the look that I want so thanks for the tips and I'll keep practicing 😉
@@fionascreativecanvas yeah I thought that part was going to be way easier than it is! Haha! It's just pouring paint off the canvas, how hard can it be? 😂 😂 Answer: actually quite difficult! 😂
They are brilliant. Molly, Olga Soby and Rinske Douna were the first fluid artists that I found and started following and they're just brilliant. I am in love with Rinske's Dutch blooms, Molly's swipes and Olga's space scenes and blowouts - they're so talented! I am also really enjoying the clear/invisible swipe series Johnny (J Mo Painting) is doing at the moment - it's so unique!
@@Littlewings1211 I found Rinske more recently but love her and Jo's invisible series is awesome 👍
Can you tell me what makes the lacing effect? I’m new to this, would really appreciate knowing. Thank you.
Gorgeous is an understatement more envious than ever lol❤
Thank you Michael 😊
Your work with swipes over metallic paints is inspiring!!!
Thank you so much! 😊
Intense work with spectacular outcome! Simply stunning!!!
Thank you very much! 😊
Definitely the best pour I've seen. Georgious!!!
Thank you so much 😊
I love this piece! The area you didn't like as much, I thought it added a depth to the piece. Great job!!❤
Thanks so much Tonya. 😊
So beautiful. I love the colors. I'm always draw to the earth tone colors. Shiny metals, pearls & iridescent paints really make a pour beautiful.
Thankyou. ☺ My favorited is the Liquitex Iridescent White 😍
Very pretty, Fiona. ❣
Thank you Linda 😊
I love this distinctive technique, using the varied pallette-knives.😊
😊 Thanks
The areas without lacing are a perfect contrast, a resin topcoat will give you the shine you want.
👍😊
Stunning work, simply beautiful!
Thank you very much! 😊

Thank you Maggey 😊
It worries me how much paint is used in these beautiful things and the wastage. Lovely work❤
Thank you. There are ways to minimise wastage.
Simply gorgeous!
Thank you Louise! 😊
It’s beautiful Fiona! Great job on the lacing and beautiful colors! ❤
Thank you Laura. I'm glad you like it 😊
What is the mix for the paint? Its so pretty
I used Australian Floetrol and Liquitex pouring medium. I think this one was 2:3parts I'm still playing with the formula :)
How these bubble created.
INCREDIBLE! What a beauty of a masterpiece!
Thank you 😊
so beautiful and highly satisfying!
Thank you! 😊
Oh that is the most beautiful paint pour. Love it

I can’t get over, with as many comments you make, just how helpful you are to the amazing amount of comments you must receive after each of your projects.. Also and MOST of all, How encouraging You are to those of us are in doubt of ourselves..
You are simply Amazing Fiona 🍀
Fiona! This is amazing! You make it look so easy. So when someone ask you how long did it take you to create this masterpiece, you say kindly, "My whole life." ... If you are like me who has been doing art my whole life. Again, so beautiful! I love it
Oh I like that 😉 Thank you so much Laura 😊
I was wondering to something cheaper. Maybe 40% water, 60% paint and some drops of silicone? Tell me your opinion.
@@happytripteam6657 It will depend on the paint you use on how much water you can ad as it will break the pigment. I can't really advise on this. As for silicone I haven't had any luck with it. But you can always experiment on a small canvas and see what effects you get 😉
....I always wondered why people ask how long it took to make........why?
Simply beautiful. Great color combination. I’m wondering how you got all those cells. Would you mind sharing the secret? Thanks.
Very beautiful piece. 😊❤😊❤😊❤
Thank you so much 😊
Absolutely gorgeous 🎉
Thank you Vicky! 😊
Omg! My first time seeing this! Incredible!

Oh my gosh; it's gorgeous!! That first big , slow swipe- amazing!
Thank you so much Julie!
So beautiful!!! ❤
Thank you!! 😊
Stunning! Looks like an abstract beach landscape
Oh cool. Thank you 😊
Gorgeous! Armchair quarterback here, I really liked that "sunspot" and black streak corner at the 10:08 mark. I might've stopped right there. But the final composition is really tight and not as busy. Must be agony to pick the right stopping point 😊!
Yes I think knowing when to stop takes lots of practice and experimenting. Thanks for watching 😊
So beautiful. I’ve tried this before and I can never seem to get the correct ratios between my paint and the medium I use. Would you mind sharing the type of paint and medium you used as well as ratios? I would really appreciate the help.
Hi, I used a mix of 2 part Aussie Floetrol to 3 part liquidtex pouring medium for this one and then I mixed roughly 1 part paint to 3 parts pouring medium. I'm still learning this and it was the first time I achieved a result I was happy with. I'll be playing around with the mix a bit more though. Still trying to find the best mix for me :)
Very very beautiful art work 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you so much 😊
I love it! I need to learn to slow down with my swipes. I see it changing and I habitually speed up! Beautiful job!
Thank you! 😊
Love,love,love it!
Thank you Debbie! 😊
As I was watching you do the tilting I thought to myself that it might be an idea ro get some long screws and partially screw one into each corner as feel, so that you could hold onto these while you tilt and when it's all dry you just remove them. I just that this might give to more control during the tilting. I have to say that I'm not a painter (yet), but I'm feeling very inspired to put my stashed blank canvases to good use! Thanks for sharing that. I love that lacing effect!.
Thank you. I actually have small push pins in the base. I've tried the bigger ones but one fell out and I had all sorts of issues as the painting was wet so I couldn't turn it over to get it back in 😥 Screws would probably work ok so long as they are not too long I think. I have recently bought some paint stands for my bigger canvases. They are quite handy 😉 Thanks for watching and sharing your idea 😊
Beautiful!!! I love this one, those are colors I don't usually use and now I am completely inspired and I am going to have to try them!
Thank you. Please do 😃
Reminds me of African animals tiger, cheetah, leopard, giraffe etc very interesting amazing lacing effect. Definitely one of a kind!
Thank you 😊
GORGEOUS FIONA!!!
Thank you so much 😊
Love love love it
Awesome. Looks really pretty! What ever you do I’d superb! 😉
Thank you 😊
Love this painting Fiona. Hope to see you do more of these. I like how you swiped all in the same direction. Some that I have seen do them in all directions, but I think yours is better. Glenis
Thanks so much 😊. I will be practising this technique for a little while. 😉
Oh wow c'est magnifique qu'elle belle couleurs et beau design felicitation madame fiona la transparence et la brillance très jolie ❤❤❤👍🥰🥰

The metallics are beautiful! A clear coat epoxy might go incredibly well over the metallic paint. It would definitely shine and preserve your stunning work.😊
Thank you 😊 👍
Wow that is beautiful.

That looks incredible, I love it.
