This talk was not what I was expecting from the title but I couldn't agree more with what he's taken away from his experiences. A joy to listen to, thanks.

I love that he not only overcame so much personal adversity but also used his opportunities and success to create some really effective and impactful forms of change
Congratulations. If I may, I believe the best 'education' is found through the personal agency of humility and grace while seeking divine truth. The only institution one needs for that form of education is their body, mind, and soul. Second to that, is education in basic math, language, social studies, biology, history, alike. The wise understand opinion is prerequisite to knowledge of-which is prerequisite to Wisdom. Wisdom being deepest understanding of the human condition, every day life, and reality. A knowing increasing in depth and exceeding with time. Math does not establish discernment. Once any indivual or collective human body losses sight and sense of the true definition of "Humanity" there is nothing but regression into a never ending cycle of personal and social turmoil, division, animosity resentment, inner void, apathy, aggressive narcissism, scapegoating, sabotage, slander, and defamation. All of-which ripples through society destroying the whole of humanity globally.
Loved hearing about his mom being such a legend and especially bringing together all the siblings. That's something some women struggle with even when there's only like 3 kids and no other wives lol
Never realized how much early stress can mess with a kid's brain. Makes you think about the long-term effects of things you normally brush off as nothing serious
Waking up at 4:00 a.m. to work on the farm sounds tough, but it clearly built strong character and resilience not to mention a work ethic that he's obviously carries over into everything else he's done. Sorry I'm gushing a bit I know just in total awe of this guy
Using media for scaling interventions in child development seems promising, but I wonder about its long-term effectiveness in diverse cultural contexts.
I'm kind of blown away by the video in the middle... definitely a lot of cultural differences especially hearing from a mother that playing with the children isn't for fathers.
The airplane metaphor is spot-on. Using adversity to propel yourself forward is the only way to use it as a positive force instead of being dragged down by it

Couldn't help but reflect on my own privileges as he talked about the cultural and social challenges he faced... it's so unfair because comparatively I'm not really out here trying to do the kind of amazing and societally helpful things he is and yet he'll face so many more barriers. It' really unfair and I wish it would change
Wow! great! Turn mud into gold! It's very inspiring and an encouragement for those who chose to live in desperation instead of look to the way out whithin their difficults issues. Thank you Samuel. God bless you Bro'.
Hearing about his challenges with racial and cultural integration made me realize how important it is to support diversity and inclusion, sad that we still have so far to go
I was smiling so much at the start of this talk because his energy and mannerisms were so awesome, but then hearing about all the hardships and on top of that experiencing social and cultural injustices... I mean he's been through and overcome so much and the fact that he can still be so happy and positive is just amazing really
Thank you for sharing, @ianvantreight1615! Maintaining a positive attitude amid adversity is a significant step toward overcoming it. I truly appreciate your perspective.
@@SamuelKembou That's a really good point and something I try to do but struggle with. Very cool to see someone else doing it so well! Thanks for the reply
Very inspiring for some of us who passed through the same and still looking for a way to change the situation by God's grâce. Thanks for the speech and Glory to the Lord.
Thanks @daniellakamdj9957; Im glad to hear the story resonates with yours. I'm grateful to my mother for consolidating similar Christian values in me; they still carry me today. 5:07
Oh wow when he said he had 15 siblings I was like man his parents must have liked each other a lot LOL and then he said his Dad and his four wives 😂😂 honestly made way more sense.
so much respect to him for keeping it real about the challenges, even after getting an education. Success isn't always smooth sailing.
This talk was not what I was expecting from the title but I couldn't agree more with what he's taken away from his experiences. A joy to listen to, thanks.
I could listen to this man forever 😍😍
Could definitely relate to the way he described feeling powerless... I guess we've all been there at some point
"My past will not dictate my future" - everyone could implement that belief.
Okay but that video in the middle was too sweet and wholesome!
The media’s role in standardizing interventions is a game-changer. I'm excited to see how technology can help!
That dawn-to-dusk farm life sounds intense. Makes my 9-to-5 seem like a breeze.
The part about carrying food back home through tough terrain was intense. It gives a lot of context about his perseverance though, very cool
I can't even imagine growing up with 15 siblings. my one sister drives me crazy enough
The story about his mom being denied a visa was so frustrating. It shows how much work we still need to do on immigration policies.
Education was the key to his success. Truly impressive how he prioritized it above everything else
His passion to help in child development is undeniable, it's exciting to think how many he has helped turn mud into gold!

Definitely a journey lol he covers so much in this
This is the representation we’ve been asking for! Let’s turn mud into gold.
Great to hear this story resonates with you, @priscahildinger1879! Let's challenge our challenges!!!
I love that he not only overcame so much personal adversity but also used his opportunities and success to create some really effective and impactful forms of change
I was moved by his dedication to helping other children reach their potential. His work is making a real difference 💜
Comparing oneself only to who they were is a wonderful way to cultivate self improvement!
Transforming obstacles into opportunities - he's living proof it's possible.
Thanks for watching.
Congratulations my dear
@@marcelkogaing1474 thanks so much

Y😂
The story about the wooden bridges on the way back from the farm was so intense. It really shows the obstacles he had to overcome!
Loved hearing about his mom being such a legend and especially bringing together all the siblings. That's something some women struggle with even when there's only like 3 kids and no other wives lol
It's heartbreaking to hear about the passing of his father at such a young age. I see so much strength in his story.
"My past will never dictate my future" - such a powerful mantra. I'm gonna remember that one.
his mother sounds like an incredible woman! Her resilience and values clearly shaped him into who he is today.
It's crazy to think he could've dropped out or turned to violence but chose education instead. Such an amazingly strong move
Never realized how much early stress can mess with a kid's brain. Makes you think about the long-term effects of things you normally brush off as nothing serious
I love his attitude throughout the whole thing, such resilience and positivity is very rare and amazing to hear about!
What a story! Loved hearing about every part of it, especially the work you're doing to help communities
It’s incredible how he turned his challenging upbringing into a drive for education and success. Such an inspiring journey!

Man, growing up with 16 siblings must've been wild. Can't imagine how crazy that family dynamic was.

Turning mud into gold - what a perfect metaphor for overcoming life's challenges. I loved the closing message.
Thanks for sharing that feedback @hirominakahara2285, very much appreciated.
Change begins where you make it change!
❤❤❤❤ toute la gloire à Dieu 🙌🙌🙌. Vraiment bravo
The mud house building process was surprisingly interesting. Never thought I'd learn something like that from a TED talk!
The emphasis on resilience and overcoming adversity is commendable. It's a reminder that determination and education can truly change lives.
Thanks, @addisonpassini! I agree with you that education and determination are two powerful forces that can change one's life.
@@SamuelKembou Absolutely! Thanks for the reply
His commitment to education is super inspiring. Wish I had that drive when I was younger.
I'm glad you found my commitment inspiring @badkarma2005. Don't give up on anything-better late than never!
Oh what an incredible story!! His perspectives are so amazing
I love this, I strongly believe education has the power to end poverty and his story really speaks to that.
Glad to hear that, @valteradnan. I couldn't agree more about the power of quality education. Let's continue to advocate for it!

Was so glad to hear him say he placed such a value on education instead of taking all those "easy" decisions instead.

What he said about aeroplanes using the head wind to go higher... I don't know that just made something click for me
I suspect the number of people in the world that don't reach their potential is almost everyone...
Great content. Thank you
You are welcome, @kamdemarnault9802!
Learning that 250 million children are at risk of never reaching their potential is shocking. We need more initiatives like his!
