I met Mark and Dave at a state freestyle wrestling tournament in california.. Dave was my favorite wrestler. I cried when he got shot.. their were so many rumors going around the wrestling community about Dupont. But the United States wrestlers were getting jealous that the communist wrestlers were basically professional athletes.. Dupont offered what seemed like the only option other than wrestling freestyle for the military..
Thank God for mma.. at least some wrestlers can now get money and respect.. thanks to Mark schultz, Kevin Jackson, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, etc..

I'd be interested to know how the fight would have gone if strikes we're allowed. In any regard Mark Schultz is so incredible. His Olympic Gold medalist wrestling combined with him learning jiu jitsu - he would have been a long reigning UFC champion and UFC hall of famer if he decided to. Absolute legend and class act.
