mark is also now a black belt in jiu jitsu, he would be a nightmare to deal with on the mat given his wrestling skills coupled with submission ability
I can’t believe there was a time when Al Michaels called NCAA wrestling in national TV
where can I see all the NCAA wrestling matches since the beginning? Is there some sort of archive? Thanks

NY has produced some incredible wrestlers including Ed Banach, Lou Banach, Kyle Dake, Yianni Diakomihalis, and Vito Arujau just to name a few. NY, in my opinion, is definitely the most underrated wrestling state.
I know he's not in the category of those mentioned... but you gotta love Steve-o... & of course Jesse Jantzen
@@RG_cradle3 Stevo has been a legend since he was a kid, and he seems like a great guy, I believe he AA's next year, and I did some research on Jesse Jantzen, and apparently he was NY's first four time champ, which always makes someone a legend in their state.
This was awesome!!
Both guys were really classy when interviewed after the match.
Talk about going for broke.
Bonus points for the reaction of the Oklahoma dog mascot when Mark gets reversed in second period. Lol.
My favorite match of all time.
Hey NCAA...1982 was an amazing tournament. Any chance we could see the entire tourney?
Both guys are studs 👍🏆

By any chance can you put Dave Schultz vs Mike Sheets up? I can’t find the match anywhere
Hey Ian! Thanks for the request. We are looking into it.
awesome match!
Thanks for the watching!
Match was so intense it looked like it was scripted for a movie. Easily one of the greatest matches in NCAA history.

@@uberjackkde Search by years. Some of the finals have all the matches, but others have to be watched individually. 1991 and 1995 have the entire finals on them with some legendary bouts in those.
amazing match ed banach handled it like a man

Banach actually smashed some property in the Myriad arena in Oklahoma City after the match and his school had to pay thousands in damages.
@ 1:03 Dave came close to locking hands
I hate the boundaries in the old matches
Funny seeing you here
I like the ref slapping away the hold at the end. How it should be
Does anyone else think Dan Gabel vs Stan Abel is weird how close the names are?
And the reporter at the end stumbling through his words while trying to say "stumbling block"

"Ed tastes Da Feet today."
Oh. My. God. Did they throw the kitchen sink at each other or what?
Even though Banach was composed in his interview, after he left the arena floor he went berserk and destroyed thousands of dollars worth of property at the Myriad in OKC.
Schultz is an animal
Don't backflip stomp his head Mark. That's just cruel. lol
just juiced to the gills on dbol
Are these guys seriously 177lbs?
Old weight cutting rules. They’d be 184s now.
Typical Iowa biased referee. Way too many calls went their way in the Gable years...
Banach sounded composed in his interview but was in a rage after he left the arena and caused significant property damage at the Myriad in Oklahoma City. Iowa had to pay many thousands in damages. Knowing Gable he probably didn't discipline Banach at all. And when he coached the U.S. Olympic team in 1984 Gable helped his own Iowa wrestlers during the trials at the expense of OSU's Lee Roy Smith who rightfully should have been on the team over Iowa's Randy Lewis.
Not enough chest to chest connection by Banach on the last throw attempt. Mark go around too easily.
And yes, easy for me to say.
