Just a note: be careful with autopay if you tend to run your checking account down to near $0 each month! Overdraft fees and fees from your credit card company for a returned payment will put you behind in your goals! Another great video, Drew!

You have 83 subscribers?! Do you have prior editing experience? This is really well made. The title feels like a bit of a misnomer, as they don't necessarily feel like tips to simplify finances, so much as getting them under control, but other than that, I'm amazed by this video. You're gonna go far.

Thank you for the great free info! Also amazing production quality for having just started this.
I'll give you some info in return that may help you out with growing your channel: don't curse, at least not in the first third/half of the video. It sounds super stupid but it makes a difference in the algo.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been researching the algorithm and how to optimize for it so this is something I’ll definitely work on for my future vids.
I’ve got a background in photo and wedding videography so I’ve got a bit of experience :)

Thanks for the video, Drew. Not sure if you're open to people commenting things that helped them, but here goes. :)
When I was younger, what helped me tremendously was consolidating all of my credit cards into one card and then closing the other accounts.
What I did was I waited until I got some type of offer: "Get a cash advance on this card and get 0% interest to pay it back for 12 months!!"
I would then get the cash advance, use that cash to pay off the other cards, and then get the amount I got and divided it by 11.
I would then make sure I paid 1/11 each month so it would have zero interest.
The reason I did 11 and not 12 was just in case I needed that cushion! :)

Love hearing your insight, Ted! I've done something similar with balance transfer offers, myself! Took advantage of a few to get my debt off of interest-bearing cards so I'm not adding onto the pile while trying to pay it off. It has also definitely helped reduce strain on my budget by allowing me to reserve some cash that I was putting towards multiple, high minimum payments. Thanks again for sharing your insight :)

It’s so common for people to treat finances like crash dieting. I don’t want sound financial advise to ever feel painful to learn or like you’re being yelled at like a toddler, ahem, Dave Ramsay, ahem.
