    Sainsmart ProverXL 4030 V2 shrsl.com/43un0
Some of the upgrades on this machine include ball screws, closed loop stepper motors (minimises loss of steps and can move faster), new improved Z assembly, eccentric nuts on the wheels, better bed and a few other bits like higher dust guards.

It looks like the Y axis sensors have been moved to the outside. Can you measure the real maximum effective work area (on the V1 it is quite a bit wider than the wooden bed, and extends further out the front)?

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  Год назад

@@davidkiefer1748 yes, its covered in the video towards the end. Think it's 410x308. Because of the extra brackets on the ball screws you can't really gain much by moving the limit switches bracket any more

I'm a little bummed, I literally just bought a PROVerXL 4030 and now that I went to your videos to see how to get it setup properly I see that there is a V2 model. So now I'm debating on not building this thing and returning it for the V2 version. I do intend on making fairly precise parts for 3D printers and for modding PC's. Is the V2 worth the extra money and is it really more accurate than the V1? Great videos BTW! I'm an old maker that has always like building things and want something to help build the more intricate things :)
Oh, and is there any plans showing how you built the awesome cabinets you have the CNC's in?

After watching this I decided to go ahead and buy one. Looks a really decent machine with plenty of scope to upgrade it. Linear rails for example, I can see why they didnt add them for cost, but looking at this we could easily machine our own parts to make mounts for them.
For me what sold it was the ball screws, and closed loop steppers. Size wise its a really nice form factor too, not too big or small and I believe an extension kit is coming out soon. I'll likely add a Makita to mine tbh. Excited to get started on this, just waiting for the postie now :)

Actually ordered the Genmitsu Proverxl 4030 V2 on the last day of Prime Days for $1250 to my door. Not a bad deal, I thought.
Then I got an immediate sense of buyer's remorse, mostly on account of Delrin rollers in extruded aluminum rails, and managed to cancel the order in time.
Because of another one of your videos, I got caught up in the numbers game and purchased the FoxAlien Vasto 400 x 400:with the 10 watt optical laser bundle. They had a $200:discount code at the time, so $2099 to my door.
Gained 4 inches in "Y", linear rails, larger ball screws and a more robust controller. On the down side, I lost the closed loop stepoer motors and spent another $850. Sure hope I made the right call.

It would have cost you less than $200 to add linear rails...their machine looks decent though, but id say overall after doing the linear rail upgrade on the 4030v2 I think the fox alien one is probably a downgrade.

Perfect tutorial. I finally decided to enter the CNC world myself with exactly this machine.
I made some initial cuts and all looked great. Now getting into more detailed work and I just noticed a problem I can't explain.
I use 3.175mm upcut Genmitsu bit (MC40A) and all my cuts are greater than expected by ~0.5mm. Design is 100% ok. If I for example just make a square 65x65mm, it is actually 65.5mm. I use poplar 7mm thick for all those cuts.
Because I attempt a design where I plan to put several pieces together, the 0.5mm represents a problem for me.
Any idea what should I check? Any suggestion appreciated as all this still very new to me.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You have now tested both machines, which one would you recommend? Which is more stable and robust when milling plastic housings and 2mm aluminum? The 4030 V2 has ballscrew and better closed loop stepper motors. The 6050 Plus doesn't have that, but it has linear guides. Which machine do you think is more accurate?
I don't care about the size of the design. It is important to have a reliable and stable milling machine. Thank you!

That's ok. Feedback helps others and Sainsmart. I've commented on a few of your posts in the Sainsmart group. I think the skewing steppers is either a faulty motor or wiring issue. The limit switch brackets bending is a slightly poor design given the strength of the motors. I never experienced it but I didn't hit the brackets hard enough. Hope you get the issues sorted
