Greetings Sir, New subscriber here... I just purchased my first Machine, the Genmitus 3020 Pro Max. Mostly I'll be creating small parts from aluminum for model r/c cars. Your channel came at the top of my youtube search so you are the first person I watched and so far the only one I've actually subscribed to. I find your videos very detailed and novice friendly. I'm a long time user of 3D Printers and Laser Engravers so most of the terms were familiar. I went with easel but when I started the trial ver the only option was to download the gcode file. Must be an update or is there a different ver I should be looking for. Perhaps the changed the save gcode option to only the paid ver.?
Thanks for the great easy to follow videos. Great channel overall....

Great video James, as usual. I watched your z-probe 3018 video and you made a diy probe. I would like make a diy corner touch plate that senses the x, y and z (of the front/left corner). Can you point me in the right direction for the code to implement this? I would be happy if the probing needed 3 buttons, but better if all three were in one button and sequential. If I am being overly ambitious, just say :) Thanks again James.

Great tutorial. When I do mine, I set the XY axis to zero, then move to Z probe location & run probe sequence, return XY to zero & leave bit at Z height as I don't want an errant bit of code fast jogging my bit to start location & bashing my hold town clamps. This relies on the G-Code setting appropriate cutting height once in correct XY start location.

Hello James I love you videos! I have recently been searching and researching non stop for weeks. I have literally went down the 🐇 🕳 😂 . I have a little over 1000 to spend and I want to get into cnc machining. I can seem to make my mind up between the 4040 sainsmart and the 4030. The 4030 seems more rigid and built better. I am willing to upgrade it. So my question is that I want to be able do aluminum pretty easy what would your suggestion be for a cnc. I am willing to go for a different brand . You seem to be the guy who knows about all the cnc machines. Would you please give me a suggestion or do you think I should save my money and go for the 6050? I would also like to do 3d carvings not just 2d. I am willing to upgrade to linear rails or ball screws and a bigger spindle. Aby help would be much appreciated 🙏 thank you for all you time and making these wonderful videos for us

Thanks for the kind words. For aluminium, you want it to be strong and ridged. Yes the 4040 will do it but something like the 4030 or even the 6050 would do it better. Generally speaking the best advice is get the top of what you can afford so if saving up for something like the 6050 (or another machine) is within you grasp then do that.

Hi James, Love your videos. I recently bought a 4030. I have a problem since day one with the depth of cut set for the jobs. I used your logo for testing. Candle indicates 10mm as the depth of the cut but the cnc, cuts only at -.2 (displayed in the work area coordinates while the jod id running) and the logo is barely visible. It does the same with other files as well. I have run over and over the same Z-Probe setup as you show in your video but it does does not change anything. I also tried the paper method but had no more success. It's doing the same issue with Candle, GSender and the off-line controller as well. I might be doing something wrong but I don't know what. I tested all axes precision with a ruler and they are dead on. I searched a solution on the Web but did not find any. Would you have any idea what could cause this ?

I am using candle 1.1.7 and that button code you suggested using seems to not work as intended. Instead of moving down to touch the material it sort of did a homing jog but faster and did not actually home it. It just moved all the way back to the far back right then shut down to where I have to hit reset to start over.
Just a little confused by that. So for now I think I will manually jog and zero the machine.

Hi John. There is no need for the angry face. You've commented on several videos now getting negative with me so let's just be clear about a few thing. First, they are my videos made how I feel is best with the software I choose and given how many followers I have accumulated, I must be doing something right. Unless you want to pay me, I do not provide a personalised service. Second, UGS is much better than Candle so why would I always keep showing everything in an inferior piece of software. Candle is not the recommended software from Sainsmart, it is simply just the easiest for them to supply to people. There is major difference here. Third, if you do not like my videos, then stop watching them.
Back to the point in hand, it's pretty much exactly the same process in both pieces of software for working out the height of the Z probe but the truth is this is a work around to the problem which I didnt actually need to show in the first place. The correct method is to use the right tool for measuring the Z probe so I would suggest you start by doing that as opposed to keep getting angry with me
