About
Hi, I'm Ashwin and I make content on Rolex, Tudor, Omega, Patek, AP, Vacheron, A. Lange and a whole host of other really cool watch brands. I also cover more than just the hype watches, Moser for example.
Often I also cover some aspects of the watch market and its relevancy in the short term. Check out some of my other videos on the channel and see if you resonate with the content. There's plenty.

With a flat 6.8" wist, I felt the 36 was much too small. I tried the 41 and felt it was a little too big but seemed like the better option. You're right...a 38 or 39 would be perfect. Ultimately, I ended up selling my 41 since it looked too big for that style of watch on my wrist. Shame, since it's a beautiful watch.
This is probably one of my most worn watches, it's compact but insanely comfortable. Usually I wear 40-44 but once you acclimatise to 36mm it's fine. IMO the 41mm datejust loses the spot on proportions of the 36.
This watch will be my next pick up. Absolutely love the 126200-126234 models.
I'm on a wait list for this watch, but on a Jubilee with a fluted bezel. I've been quoted 6 to 12mths, but was also told by my AD that I'm the first person in about 2yrs to request it. It's scarse because it's not very popular.
It's a few years old now, that's why no one's talking about it. I don't think people are not talking about it because of its size, as small watches are coming into fashion at the moment.
Crazy, I got the call for a BB54, but my AD had this along with it and sold it to me, zero wait time or purchase history.
I went to an AD recently for sizing (smallish wrists) and they had one of these in a 36 mm but not for sale. I tried it on with the colour being a secondary thing. They also had a full length mirror and have to say it was beautiful. What surprised me (and you nailed in this video) is that it doesn't shout at all and is certainly not just a Miami watch either 😂The green is very muted and the watch absolute class. I instantly pined for one. It won't be too hard for me to get one so I've asked:) Most of the people who have formed opinions on this model dial clearly have done so based on pictures not in real life on the wrist. It will be interesting to see how demand shifts as size fashion comes down (as is already happening) Great review.👍
mine's fluted and jubilee and i love it
Again, nice video ashwin, I actually just picked one of these up at my AD 2 days ago with zero wait, I was wondering how much was the wait time for you for this particular watch?
The photos don’t do it justice, you have to have it under different lighting conditions in person to fully appreciate it
Excellent video. It's been some time since you last posted.
Got it. Love it. Best watch I think I’ve ever owned.
I had my bracelet all-brushed which really tones it down and makes it a better daily for me
36mm clears. If Tony Soprano wears a 36 so can you
Not sure that's the standard mate :)
I find the 36 just a wee bit too small and the 41 just a wee bit too large. So I got a 39 Explorer
Love this watch. I’d choose it over the two tone Explorer all day.
A tough choice. Two terrible watches.
Excellent video Ashwin. I always appreciate your willingness to share luxury pieces and your thoughts on them. Well done!
Thanks Jason! Always great to see you here :)
Very good commentary on that DJ. But I'm pretty sure a lot of Rolex buyers will still buy that palm if they will make a 41mm.
You made good points... but just put myself on "the list" for this fluted jubilee as my first rolex lol
Nobody talks about it because ADs shift them all for resale. No point getting too excited if they're not available. Also, long term, do you really wanna have that dial on the wrist for decades? It's fun for a summer but it'll be outdone by their next weird dial.
Perfectly summarised!
I agree. I want a palm dial datejust too. Because it fits my personality and style, I want something wild and fun. But all the ADs in HK told me "Sorry, we don't have it in stock".
It's kinda pointless to get excited if all you can see are "Exhibition only" palm dials in ADs. That's why I'm not even excited about the Balloon OP or the Puzzle Day-date. If Rolex ADs aren't selling their watches to the right customers (those who don't flip for profit), pointless to be excited about the brand.
The problem is that when Rolex introduces a more 'funky' dial it garners immediate interest, however when somebody is actually spending a very sizeable chunk of hard-earned money on a DJ they will almost always play safe and go for a more generic colourway. The exception may be an avid collector. The 36 size also reduces it overall appeal to many.
I have two Datejusts, a Turn O Graph and a regular two tone, and two Date, 5 digit and 6 digit. I think they are all very different. I have no desire for sports models...
I like it. But I think you get this one if you already have a few other Rolex.
lol... everyone talking about how small 36 is and a 38 or39 be better.... the dails are the same size on a 36 or 40.... so funnny.
The dial is actually larger on the DJ41 compared to the 36
Consistently Pausing between words is unnecessarily frustrating...
Good feedback, will pay more attention to this
Great review nonetheless! @@StandardTime
Innnnteresting...
Bit of a bland take there mate.
Appreciate the feedback
36mm is too small for alot of modern watch buyers these days and women don't like it so hence no one is talking about it...
