The Toyota dealer sent me an email with "aggressive pricing." The string attached was Toyota financing. I told them I wanted that price without Toyota financing. The salesman suggested I finance it and pay it off in a month or two. When I want to play games, I visit an arcade, not a car dealer.
Lol. But he actually does have a point.
Here’s what I would do. I would pay off the entirety of the loan MINUS the first payment in the first month itself. That way I would get Toyota financing incentives
99.5% down and finance the last 0.5%
It never ceases to amaze me how dealerships will mistreat customers know they know are close to them, but if you look there’s always dealerships somewhere else that will give you a good deal.
I am working on a below MSRP deal right now with a dealership that’s 300 miles away. The dealerships in my area refuse to match that deal. So I’m traveling
That's what you need to do. You could still email the local ones and show them the offers from the out of town people, and when they still refuse, tell all your friends to go support the better dealers further away.

@@KevinHunter I did. I got ghosted, upsold to a higher trim that I didn’t want, asked to put down a deposit on a future allocation for a smaller discount + other riders. They don’t care.
The dealer I once worked at the manuf deal was the number of cars they could sell by the end of a month they could take a real loss on a few vehicles if they were close to the total needed at the end of the month because they could well make it up on the incentive they reached. it was a lucrative deal for the dealer. And a good deal for some end of month buyers. Thanks for your informative videos
Thank you! We appreciate your thoughtful comments. You hit the nail on the head!
Great content. Thanks for the smart info.
You guys are amazing
The best car buying advice on youtube...... bar none!
Thank you kindly!
Great video! Everyone who is buying a car should watch this video and subscribe. Love you guys!
Thank you!
Saturday, My local Ford dealership "showed me some love" (salesman's words) by offering me a sale price of MSRP -$500 Dealer discount on a $65K truck. lmao
This video exposes all the various channels dealership's use to make money (profit) and rip off their customers, so when any of them they say they are loosing money, walk out! because they are flat out lying, also highlights how difficult buying a vehicle is for those uninformed or not strong enough to challenge these crooks
Getting 8% off MSRP on a new 2024 Subaru Ascent Limited. Is this a good deal?
Do rebates start in the summer since dealers rely on tax refunds to pay for down payments on cars?
Does this apply to leasing ?
In the GM (General Motors) world the "Pay 310 Line" is the line you want to see at GM dealerships "Holdback" "Advertising" & "Expenses" lines are associated with the true dealer Cost. Ask for it and "Read It" in Detail!
In Northern California, on top of the MSRP, there are factory-installed packages and accessories costing $1400, port-installed packages and accessories costing $309, and delivery, processing, and handling fees of $1395. Do we, the buyers, have to pay these costs?
Quick question…in the current market, is it unreasonable to expect a discounted price on a custom ordered vehicle? In my case, I placed an order for a 24 Ranger and am assuming I will have to pay MSRP, minus any available incentives which are available when it finally shows up. Is this a correct assumption or is there some “wiggle” room there? And I love your videos! Just found them a couple of days ago and have been binge watching them!!
It's not unreasonable at all. Dealers WANT you to believe that, and they are likely to even tell you that, but the truth is that you're doing them a favor by ordering a car.
Maybe you guys could talk about ordering a car with color and option you want. Ex. Lexus. I used the Build a Lexus tool just to find out that getting a custom order of the car you want with with the color and options is a pipe dream.
I was told by several Lexus dealer that that could ask for a specific order but I would have to pay sticker and it may but most likely never be built. They could not even tell me what a Lexus preferred build for a ES 350 Luxury model would come with yet they said Lexus build to most popular request. How do they know what is popular if they never build what they advertise? 🤢😱
I had the exact same experience buying an ES 350 in MA. I couldn't even find a base model (called 4 dealers), all the cars allocated were Base + Premium or Luxury. I got laughed at when I suggested using the Build a Lexus tool. I was told the same thing, "Factory is building what's popular".
We are considering a 2024 merc glco300 order. But don’t hear a lot on negotiating on an order?
Did you buy one?
Should the 3.5% to 7.5% off MSRP exclude or include the cash incentitive to finance through the dealership?
Exclude. Incentives are offered by the manufacturer not the dealer. The % off msrp is the price the dealer is offering you. Two different things
A couple of local dealers are offering $1500 off MSRP and $500 gift card. I am still expected to pay doc fee. Is this a good deal on a Toyota?
Yes and no, after researching a bit, there's an amount for each state. For example, in TX it's 50-150 max, any additional they would need to file to *OCCC? So take a look for your state, would still try to negotiate for lowest possible.
But from hearing the reason why, it just sounds like fees they charge because they invested money and want to make (some) back. Like literally running a business costs money, why the F should you charge your customers for that, aka money spent on running the business. Oh filing the document costs paper/time/got charged for doing so...
oh well you can put it as a business expense right? -rhetorical- of course they can.
If their dealer fee is higher than $85, ask them why $85 is good enough for California where they have the highest labor costs in the nation. If it wasn't enough, they would have set the legal cap higher.
Great response!
Is the car buying program really a lowest possible price?
I'm in Alberta Canada and looking at a 2024 VW Atlas, I know the trim is different here but the level below R-line or if it's a better deal R-line would work. I have a VW to trade-in as well. I am not sure if you guys have info or help in Canada? its really hard to find some of this info here.
A lot of what we teach does apply to canadian dealers. Something that IS different in Canada is that if you have problems with a dealer there, you file complaint with the provincial or territorial Consumer Affairs office.
Is it better to lease or finance a car?
Depends. See this video and decide what's right for you! ruclips.net/video/t-E0Um9ilGs/видео.html
What you buy a new car and when I got it home I found damage now dealer says they will repair it but I can I be sure?
You can never be sure a dealer will live up to promises they make.
I think it depends on the model---you're not going to find the same deals on a Camry or Corolla compared to a Hyundai or Kia for example. The latter two are scrap metal and not made for the long haul, so they will likely be discounted. In my case, I'm specific on a trim, model and year and I only buy new cars. The only used ones I buy are classics which you can't buy new anymore of course. LOL.
You can pit one dealer against the next and walk in with a bank check and say, "I've done the math. If you agree to this number, I have a check and I'm ready to buy VIN #12345 right now". Depending on how much they need the sale, they may or may not bite.
I bought my 2012 Sonic by coming up with a number on paper and then when the salesman said, "We have a deal right?" I said, "No, I ran a report on GM's inventory system and this car has been sitting here for six months". The look on the salesman's face was priceless. I said, "Yup, I have access too.....". He came down $500 right there. I said, "Not good enough" and got up to walk. He said, "We're $100 apart". My mother said, "Tell you what, you take $50, and I'll take $50....". Done. LOL.
No need for extended warranties----you can get mechanical breakdown insurance for a lot less through your insurance carrier. No one wants to be "that guy", but sometimes you have to force your will to be heard.
We always believe in being firm but respectful. It definitely takes that in order to get a good car deal.
Always be willing to use your walking shoes.
Should I pay “destination“ fee after msrp?
No. Delivery/destination is included on the Monroney window sticker.
Do these guys talk about zero percent apr???
If a dealer is offering 1k off MSRP, do I still make an offer 3-4% below the discounted price?
$1,000 is nothing. I'd definitely go for bigger.
realcar tips had no car pricing for Genesis GV70 advanced select package or Acura Rdx a spec advanced boo!!
I agree. There are some holes in their info.
what out the door price should i be looking for with a 2024 toyota rav4 le?
MSRP plus local taxes. It will be difficult to remove the doc fee.
Since it is almost the end of the year, if you can wait until January, and you find a dealer who will work with you, you might be able to get a new 2023 if you are not picky on color, and save even more. It was with Chevrolet, but I got an extra few thousand dollars off when I bought in January because the dealership wanted to make their monthly numbers, and they had a car that was sitting on the lot for a few months eating up their value. I plan to do it again in January 2024. Since there isn't a big difference in 2023 versus 2024 features/options, what do I care if the car is a few months older if it doesn't really have any miles on it. (I plan to keep my cars 15 years so resale doesn't impact me anyway.)
If you have to incentivise to sell a certain model of car perhaps you should make less of that car.
