I have a 2013 S8 and I love it too. The length doesn't bother me, but my couple SMALL gripes are I hate the 8-segment Fuel and Temperature Gauges... There's a beautiful LCD they could have used... or maybe even better... two more small analog gauges. I went from a VW Phaeton W12 to the S8 and the W12 had the best fuel gauge ever... nice and small, but about a 270° sweep between E and F. I also REALLY dislike that there is not a real TPMS system in the S8. It uses the other wheel sensors to try to determine if a wheel is getting low in pressure, and while in some situations it's accurate, in others (like a total tire failure, it is not). Because there is no real TPMS, it also means there is no way of monitoring from the dashboard what the actual tire pressures are. The performance of this car is so spectacular that, to me, it's a negligent oversight that the realtime pressures and temperatures are not constantly being monitored. Otherwise... I have over 100,000 miles on mine and I've only had 2 things fail. A sensor in the A/C system and an air shock. I will say that it's about to get full brakes done as well as all 8 control arms in the front replaced as the bushings are shot. Even so... HELL of a car. I have three options that yours didn't... the extended leather package, night vision, and lane keeping assist. I will say EVERYONE comments on the leather. The additional leather which replaces the leather you have on the dash, doors, console, is as soft, if not softer than the seats. It has a VERY almost matte finished feel with none of the "grain" appearance of the standard dash. If you're looking for one, that elevates the car.
@@GlennsCarCollection Thank you... My plan is to replace it with maybe a new S63E... but by replace I don't mean the S8 leaves me. I love the tech of the current gen S8, but the 2013 was the pinnacle of design in my opinion. The shape of the headlamps and the LEDs in the headlamps are unmatched by any car in history.
Good morning! My S8 brother lol I own a 2013 Audi S8 also. Purchased the car at Prestige Imports Porsche Audi dealership in Denver Colorado. Mine is Daytona grey with black interior and grey alcantara headliner, B&O, night vison...I love the car! My only complaint is the cup holders needs to be bigger 😂. Thanks for the videos...seems like there’s not much out there about S8.
I still wish I had your wheels! I'm seeing 21mpg avg. @ APR Stage2. Completely agree on the B&O. Took me a month to find one though! Just crossed 31k on my '13. Great info.
They work great. The fans actually don't blow AT you, they pull air away from you... pulling moisture out and therefore you feel cooler. They are in both the bottom and seatback cushions of driver and front passenger. The massaging is AWESOME. I also have a 2014 Mercedes GL550 and the massage feature in the Mercedes is almost stupid compared to the S8.
Im in new jersey looking for one of these bad boys! It was either this or the bmw 550i or the bmw 650i . But ive heard bmw maintenance is crazy nd they have a lot of oil leaks. Im doing my research on these now i know parts are also expensive but i think i made up my mind
BMWs suck for reliability and yes... I think they are way more complicated to fix. There's a video floating out there of a custom shop that like to routinely play with swapping the turbos in their S8 of this gen and if I remember right it takes them 10-15 mins.
I would be concerned with the mileage. As soon I was in my second year of S8 ownership things started to fall apart and my car had under 50k miles. I wouldn't buy one without a warranty but I would try to find one with lower miles for a little more money
quattro = grip in all weather conditions less than 4 sec 0-100 kmh -> supercar territory all the luxury and 4 full seats on top What's not to like, if you can afford it??!
Six or seven years old....and just 36k miles is like a brand new car...but no longer have a cpo warranty? Is it worth buying an another warranty? If so which warranty to purchase or is it better to go without?
17 feet long!? Holy crap lol I agree with making sure that car has been taken care of before purchasing. I picked up a '06 gti with 152k mileage for $1800. Drove it for 2 years and at 165k the engine ate the cam follower. Didn't know what that was or that it's needed to be changed every 40k miles or so.. That was a fun $1200 fix. I'm so ready for a newer vehicle 😀🔫
Audi only charges $160 for an oil change? That's not bad! The Lexus dealership I've been going to in Savannah, Georgia charge $247.83 but check this... the labor is $149.85 and the parts are $97.98. Luckily I haven't had to pay because I also bought my vehicle as a CPO from a Lexus dealer in Texas. I hope my math is wrong but I've looked through all my service documents and the pricing is the same. Geeshh.
Love your videos man. I just got a B8.5 RS5 same color
Congrats! I love the RS5

Great comment, thank you. It must look and feel amazing with the extended leather. Hold on to this car !

What a great video on your Audi S8!! and yes the maintenance bills can creep on you fast!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

I have Stage 3 and I also see the same mileage. Leave me alone for a trip on the freeway and if I'm in the mood, I can hit 30... average.
Wow Glenn, it looks like you purchased the S8 from THE COLLECTION?! I work there and I also got and S8 from there ✌️
Cool, yes, i bought the car there a few years ago
how do the ventilated seats work?
there is a fan that blows cool air through the holes in the seat

Found one for 32k extended warranty 85k miles. Worth it?

Good point. that's why I bought it
It's only $40k now with reasonable miles.

I don't keep cars long so I probably won't purchase a warranty. But if you plan on keeping it long term and high mileage, then you should
@@GlennsCarCollectionGreat videos! When are you planning on selling or trading it? I am interested...
How come you S8 has a digital Owners manual? is that an extra option? or is it only add'd on 2017 and up?
No, its standard on my 2013.
Update ?
There should be another video when I sold the car, which I think was also a two year review
Is this car spacious for a 6’4 tall driver?
probably. I am 6 feet tall and had plenty of head room. With a spacious rear seat you have plenty of room to move the front seat back
Great car
thanks

Technically 207" so 17.25ft. Heh. I also have one (S8). I have an 06 GTI as well. Fun cars!
Yep, you are correct
Great comment, good luck with the new car. the search is always the best part
Must be a great daily
it sure is
3:40 just press the P buttton...
the S8 is soo fast, but i ended up with the A8L with B&O. GREAT stereo!
Congrats. Amazing stereo, I miss it
I love my A8 too, it only has the Bose system that sounds pretty good, is love to hear how much better the upgrade BO is

yeah, I thought $160 was cheap for a dealer
They charge 250 now. Total rip off
get AMG or BMW M?????? this is faster than all of them.... what are you talking about...??? also there is no M7
Maybe he just prefers this?
Nice review
Thanks and thank you for subscribing too my channel. Check out the other S8 videos. I replaced the S8 with an R8.
