WOW. What an AMAZING car and an AMAZING review. This was hands down the best car review I've ever seen. I absolutely love Audi and that's why I bought one for my wife and one for myself.

Thanks for the lesson on features, excellent review. I'm buying this car on Friday. I found one 9-hours away for $35k and dropped a deposit asap. I just bought my plane ticket to D.C. I'm flying Friday and driving it home. My first Audi was an 08 RS4 that I absolutely love. It was my first Audi executive sleeper, I had an APR supercharger installed two years ago. It's "OMG my neck hurts fast." I cannot wait for Friday to get to know my new Vette killer.

No other car reviewer comes close to Csaba. The thoroughness and attention to every detail is on point. Give this man an S8t and a raise.
Finally someone who is honest about the different driving settings. Having watched quite a lot of reviews about these driving modes, I was expecting something noticable when I bought my S4 (sold it in the meantime) but it didn't make that big of a difference, even when you really push it. Thanks for the honest review, really calm and enjoyable to watch.

This is the best overall review of a car that I gave ever the pleasure of watching on RUclips, and I have watched more then my fair share! A quick trip on the Google reveals that Csaba is overqualified to be a "contributing editor", as he was the Editor-in-Chief at Car and Driver for 15 years, holds a mechanical engineering degree from MIT, and has driven the Bugatti Veyron at 253 MPH, making him the ideal person to wring out this S8, and tell us what we are getting for our money, now that these cars have dropped to $40K used! Well done sir, well done! Let the search for my pre-owned S8 begin!
Definitely a stealth wealth car. It never shouts "look at me" like Mercedes S or BMW 7. But you can tune the beauty of the interior from conservative to incredible. I have an LS 460 which is matches S class for quiet and smoothness, which I believe are the two top in the world (excluding Rolls and the top Bentley). But the LS 460 is a boat, and is a bit Spartan on the inside. I'm considering Audi 8 for that great cross between comfort, interior opulence and handling. Great review!
Hal Hansen did you get the Audi, I currently own a LS460 as well. I love the quiet and smooth drive but it’s a boat and not really a drivers car.
Wow, I have learned something really cool. I started a C&D and Motor Tend yearly script at about age 8, I'm 51 now. I never really knew who Csaba Csere was. He's really the man who knows! Thanks to all the comments and this most valuable review, I'll be looking for anything that this man touches...
These C.C. reviews along with JayLenosGarage, are my favorite RUclips videos to watch on our Apple TV. I really like how thorough this one was.
This guy is practical and it's the first time I see a review of his. He is to the point and doesn't take you in in zig zag reviews like the guy on CNET does; that guy speaks a lot of BS and makes you feel like nothing pleases him at all.

I've been reading Car and Driver Magazine for many years now and this is the first time I've heard Mr. Csere actually say his name, I was pronouncing wrong all this time! Also, fantastic review, as expected.
This man is an amazing reviewer. Straight to the point and clear. No fluff like the current reviewers these days being paid off by the car companies.

I've never been more bored by a car review. The attention to detail was appreciated, but the presentation and overall lack of enthusiasm were sleep-inducing. An excellent representation of the reasons why I tend to steer clear of Car and Driver.

This review has a quality that knows no peers- easily the best, most enjoyable, and most thorough review of any car on youtube. It's amazing how it doesn't get boring either. One suggestion though- the mood lighting on the new A8/S8s is pretty epic, and it would have been nice to see a demonstration.
That's exactly the way car reviews should be. An enthusiast showing every detail and aspect of the car.

Csaba Csere - by far the best American auto journalist I've come across. Normally try to stay away from the superficial inanity most US journalists have to offer , but this guy gives you the detailed info you want to hear... really knows his stuff....perhaps he's Canadian

Audi does it again! This car is absolutely perfect. There are so many different little things that you can do with this car, the detail is amazing. Beautiful, inside and out.

Great review, these days we see more and more reviews by people that obviously don't have a clue about cars and all they seem to do is drive around corners with the back of the car stepping out which I find extremely boring and they never touch on what I would like to know about the car however after watching their reviews I know that you are able to drive the car like an idiot. So thank you for taking us on a journey talking about the cars features, ride comfort and explaining the MMI system so clearly I got more information from watching your review then I got from watching 3 other reviews on the same car.
Csaba Csere is kind of like that guy you know who has been working in and around cars his whole life, so you naturally trust what he says. He's got car guy wisdom.
I do chuckle every time I hear him say his own name though.
This has to be one of he better if not best in depth review/walk through of the S8 I have seen. Keep it up I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great review as usual Csaba. I watched this while I was on a Ike at the gym. When I eft the gym I got into this cars little brother my 13 S4. Now I have somthing to look forward to. Great review.

I just had a 2013 Audi A8 L. GREAT car. Does everything thing you said. The Audi does have the best seat massage units. Compared to a Mercedes S Class, rolling pin, or a Jaguar XJ. The Audi feels like little fists going into your back. It stays on for a while too. The Mercedes has the best ride though..
Correction. The Audi MMI will let you change or enter in an address while driving. It just suggests that you do not do so for safety reasons. If you have someone riding with you, they can access any controls except for some of the online features like you said before.

You are 100% right about the throttle. When I drive my girlfriends 2012 Audi Q5 2.0T, the gas pedal feels numb or not so reactive instantly and when I push it hard to get it out quick it jolts and lags hard!

We got an Audi S7 for almost 2 month now. Its a really great car, awesome sound and acceleration but also top notch comfort and spacious :)

Another excellent review Csaba Csere ! The only thing I wish you guys would add is a bit more information/visual on practicality. Meaning, showing trunk space ( maybe some info on how many average sized suitcases will fit ? ), rear interior leg room - i'm 6'6" so a side exterior or nice rear interior telling the persons size would be great !
Maybe something to look into for the future ? Keep up the good work !

Great review. I will comment on his complaints over tip in for acceleration and finding the right amount of pressure for the breaking. These seem to be two of the main issues plaguing all of the large German saloons. I think the accelerator issue comes from attempting to balance freakish power with luxurious comfort. The car wears two very different hats. The same is true for the breaking. Because the car has such a large engine, it needs large breaks.
Why can't TV car shows like Top Gear have well informed no nonsense car reviews like this.

Throttle tip in has always been touchy on an 8, my 98 A8 is, an 09 S8 i drove was, not surprising this one is too, audi throttle response is insane on these upper sedans, you have to be ready for it.
