Honestly man I'm a strictly catch and release on flatheads as well. They're like my unicorn lol. They do taste better than any other catfish but just not good enough for me to keep them. I'll clean 50+ perch before I keep 1 flathead lol. I've got nothing against people keeping them to eat but I'm not excited when people keep 20lb + flatheads because it takes years for them to reproduce and they grow so slow it should be the 11th commandment.

I try to be nice to gar. They're native and prehistoric and cool. Honestly, bullheads are delicious, especially in the spring.

Surprised Josh didn't shove 15 pieces of fish in his mouth soon as you gave it to him. Flatheads are my favorite catfish to eat although I eat way more channel's. Haven't been out in a week or two, weather's been to nice to not put in long day's painting house's.

It was a river chub, which is something I've never seen. I use creek chubs a lot though and absolutely agree. Flatheads like em!

I bought some cheap soft lures from a local shop but they smell awful, like burnt rubber...so far I wasn't able to catch any wild fish with them. I'm afraid that fish avoid them because of the strong chemical aroma...or I'm just suck at fishing with artificial baits...😅

The number 4 bait holders at Walmart we're awesome for nightcrawlers you're definitely catch lots of different species and babe and surprisingly Big Fish I've even caught a 30 lb Flathead on number for bait holder hooks

How long do you tend to give a brush pile for flathead fishing from the kyak? I’ve been giving it about 10-15 minutes with two lines out. Kinda feel like if they’re there and hungry they’d bite in that amount of time.
