The super saiyan form in this movie was supposed to be the first ever reveal of the form but the animation studio forgot to color his hair for an unknown reason. Probably because just like when we first saw Vegeta, he had a different color scheme

This movie really making me wonder about the logic of Dragon Balls banished/prevented the arrival of people. Porunga couldn’t banish Slug because his power is exceeded Grand Elders but can banished people from Namek including Gohan and Vegeta whose power obviously exceeded Grand Elder’s as well. Not to mention that Shenron could banished Broly but couldn’t prevent the arrival of Vegeta and Nappa.
No....Porunga didnt banish them from the planet he simply teleported them away. Theres a difference between teleporting and banishing. Teleporting is simply taking someone and putting them somewhere else while banishing means they are no longer allowed to come back. Shenron and Porunga coudnt stop them from coming cuz their powers exceeded theirs thus they cant banish them. But they can teleport them away as they can always end up coming back. So there you go the difference between Banishing and Teleporting.

Shenlong didn’t banish Broli tho…he just moved him somewhere else. The only reason Shenlong couldn’t prevent Vegeta and Nappa from arriving on Earth was because the intended wish was to get rid of them completely.

The english dialogue is stupid and makes no sense, but I love Disturbed, Finger Eleven, and Deftones. Now I wish there was a way to watch the Japanese dubs of this, Cooler's Revenge, and the first Broly movie with the English soundtracks.

Eh, why not? (Just so you know what this is, Trace, this is just me going through the list of sins in this video and addressing the ones I think are invalid for whatever reason. This isn’t meant to shit talk you in any way; this is literally just me commentating on your video.)

Tenshinhan and Chaozu were basically confirmed by the current manga to be yokels when it comes to personal technology, so nobody would’ve been able to reach them in time for them to do anything due to not owning a phone, and they wouldn’t have seen the broadcast that said “Hey y’all, the Earth is fucked.” due to not having any sort of television. And what could Yamcha have done that Goku and Kuririn couldn’t? He can’t use the Kaio-Ken or the Kienzan, and he’s usually the second WEAKEST Z Fighter next to Chaozu.
89. I mean, humans are stupid and think they know everything.
96. Gohan’s loads stronger than them anyway, since this is supposed to be the same Gohan who went up against the Ginyu Special Squadron on Namek. And yeah, I said Special Squadron. Why? Because it’s a correct translation and it gives them more of a distinct identity from “Freeza Force”.

99. I mean, it’s kind of a metal idea. And it’s also pretty dark when you consider what has to happen to the Earth for it to happen.

115. He’s 5. He’s a martial arts student, not a master. Remember when Goku pump faked Jisu and Burtta in DBZ episode 67? That was because of intense training, not solely because of power level. Plus, again, this Gohan’s got a power level around Ginyu Squad level, and he was kicking Slugg’s guys’ asses before; those puny little shots were probably lucky to even sting him.
120. How does that have any bearing on his education…? (Honestly, this is just reminding me of my desire for Boo Saga era Toriyama to have struck a balance between scholar and Z Fighter and made Gohan a martial arts master instead of a straight up Goku version 2.0.)

126. That’s not out of character for Goku…? Yeah, that was a weird way of wording that, but him saying he’s self employed could mean that he doesn’t serve anybody. And yeah, he doesn’t. He’s not a superhero in the original Japanese; he fights villains solely to protect people he loves.
127. I mean, rushing at Slugg couldn’t have ended any other way, so yeah, without the Kienzan, he *couldn’t* have done much of anything. Even Goku without the Kaio-Ken couldn’t do anything to him.

138. Sinning this scene. Also, this version of Super Saiyan looks like this as per rough design instructions from Toriyama, who hadn’t finalized the design yet at the time of this movie’s production. So, this is the Super Saiyan form, just what it looked like at the time. And what a GOATed ass design, holy shit.

143. Yeah, the dub’s backstory for Slugg is an inaccurate translation of the Japanese version, but it’s one that’s honestly acceptable in this case. The original version’s backstory for Slugg is generic as hell, and it’s basically just “What if the Nameless Namekian was EEEEEEEEeEeEeEvil??” The dub at least tries to be unique and make Slugg more threatening, and like you said about the cave paintings, it’s a much more interesting story than the movie’s actual story. Like, the fact that his PLANET’S name is Slugg-and that’s where he got the name from-is dumb AF. He’s literally ALREADY a slug, Toei.
144. How do we know it was the same Grand Elder from the Namek Saga? Or hell, how do we know that Slugg’s power was as great back then? The dub doesn’t give us a timeline for that event happening. Also, that instance where Shenlong couldn’t do anything to Vegeta and Nappa was because Kame Sen’nin or Oolong (I forgot which) wished for Shenlong to DEFEAT them for them, and THAT’S why Shenlong couldn’t do anything to them. Simply moving a person around with the Dragon Balls is very different from using them to overpower that person. Goku could’ve been taken back to Earth by Porunga, and Shenlong later easily moved Broli back to Planet Vampa. Also, Slugg being banished from Namek with the Dragon Balls IS the thing that would keep him from returning.
147. Time for a MistareFusion-esque attempt at squeezing this movie in somehow. Super Showdown for the Earth takes place in an alternate continuity where it’s likely that Piccolo survived against Nappa and helped Goku against Vegeta, resulting in Vegeta’s death and everybody getting revived. Thanks to this movie’s inclusion of Hire Dragon and continued mentions of Freeza, it’s most likely a sequel to Super Showdown for the Earth.
149. This sin invalidates what you said about him not using a Kamehameha earlier.

I am surprised Toei doesn't retry to advertise the False Super Saiyan form. I mean the form is forgetable, but even Super Saiyan Grade 2 and 3 are selling. Legends has Spirit Bomb Super Saiyan Goku from DBZ Movie 7 as a playable character.
I guess the False Super Saiyan form is the Bio-Broly of Super Saiyan forms. Toei wants to forget it exists.

I forgot there was a Switch game for it. However, you won't see Bio-Broly in something like FighterZ or Xenoverse 2 and he wasn't in any Budokai, Budokai Tenkaichi, Raging Blast, Burst Limit, or Infinite World game.
I've seen mostly the english dub of all 4 seasons of high school dxd here.
As for changing planets for a new ‘cruiser’… it kinda makes sense… if they used the core as fuel it would eventually burn up and run out… so instead of refueling they hop ship

Question, what does one have to do to become a Mazoku in Dragon Ball? Is there some kind of spiritual aspect to it, or do you have to have a certain amount of evil in your heart?
Unfortunately, being a Mazoku is a very broad, poorly defined term even in the manga. The only thing we really know for a fact is anyone killed by a Mazoku doesn't pass on to Other World and they become restless spirits wandering the Earth. Piccolo eventually stops being a Mazoku in the Saiyan Arc, which is why Goku was able to pass on to Other World so he could train with Kaio. I guess Piccolo stopped being a Mazoku because he was becoming less evil over time. Toriyama never gave enough details about them just like he never specified God's (Kami's) role.
Isn’t Majin Buu technically demon as well? If so, then how come all of his victims passed on to the afterlife?

7:24 Tbh it's never come across to me that Mazoku is a general title for anyone who is pure evil and can possessed certain ability. I thought King Piccolo is just a Namekian that was mistakenly believed as Mazoku when in reality, they're a race of demons in outer space. So when you're thinking about it, Mazoku are anyone who is so evil to the point their victims can't enter Otherworld and depend on their race, their offspring can mutated to have demonic appearance.
12:29 Since the movie is up to date at the midpoint of Frieza arc, the writers are probably assume that they aren't revived after the Frieza arc somehow. We have Turles movie assumed that the Z-Fighters got revived somehow after Vegeta arc when it was released just after that arc and Namek got introduced. The 1st Cooler movie assumed Goku somehow defeated Frieza at Namek and get home in peace when the anime was still in the middle of SS Goku VS Frieza.

My theory is that in this movie, Goku is in the process of becoming a Super Saiyan and that transformation is only 50% complete Super Saiyan.

well if you think about it goku learned kaioken during the saiyan saga, piccolo was dead when he first learned the kaioken, this movie was suppose to before the saiyan or after the saiyan saga, nobody knows when this takes place
The form you see goku in is called false super saiyan or a super saiyan C-Type or Saiyan Wrath state.
Super Namekian isn’t a power boost. Piccolo can also go Giant but no power boost and he hasn’t done that since the near ending Dragon Ball and then it returns in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

Super Namekian isn’t a transformation; it’s a type of Namekian. Actually, according to canon, it’s a term coined by Kuririn when he first saw Piccolo after he merged with God. It’s not even an official name of mutant Namekians.
(Speaking of canon, it was such a missed opportunity to not depict him as basically a different being after the merge, since he’s the Nameless Namekian reborn. Throughout the entire rest of the franchise, he’s basically just normal Piccolo that occasionally has visions of Nail and God)

I’m just gonna say it right now, since I’m watching the Japanese version of this movie currently as I write this. I never liked Stephanie Nadolny’s voice as Gohan in the DBZ dub. She got better when she played Goku in the Dragon Ball dub, partly because her voice fits Goku better, but she sounded like she was trying too hard to sound cool as Gohan. But no, I’m not the type of person that glazes Colleen Clinkenbeard’s voice in the DBZ Kai dub, because she can get a little grating.
It’s a shame relations with Ocean Studios fell out, because Saffron Henderson did the best job as young Gohan. She sounded the most naturally like a little boy, rather than sounding like she was trying to have that inflection like Colleen.
Oh right so this is the version I watched with the long gohan dance. So I watched the remake.

Honestly, the real sin for Gohan and Hire Dragon singing in this video is that the dub’s version sucks ass compared to the Japanese version. Since the whistle song was part of the soundtrack, so when FUNi replaced the soundtrack, they also had to replace the whistling.

But they already had a planet as a star cruiser, what do they need Earth for? When the Tullece Crusher Corps came to Earth, they needed the planet because it was vibrant enough to grow the Tree of Might and bear fruit. Tullece had a good reason to choose Earth, Slug doesn't.
