The 90s kid in me also really likes the clear plastic - I think is they were another color (red, light blue, purple) maybe they'd stand out some more. Thanks as always for the great review! Excited to see what your first "buy it" IEM will be!
Very nice and comprehensive review, Amigo! I received these a week or so ago and only listened to them for a few minutes, but what I remember, they sounded pretty good. I think I listened to half a dozen sets in the past week, and now they all seem kinda fuzzy. 🤔 Keep up the great work!
Brain burn in is very real. That’s why I try to take my time listening to stuff for a little bit before I do my volume-matched comparisons. I also “sanity check” with speakers and over ear headphones to make sure I’m actually hearing what I’m hearing. This hobby is nuanced really subjective. But it’s a lot of fun to learn and try stuff out.
@AudioAmigoReviews 100% agreed! Due to my schedule and responsibilities, I very rarely have the time and mental capacity to actually do my due diligence to review an IEM at an audiophile's capacity. I typically open the package, put tips on and cable, plug it into my DAP and listen to a handful of tracks that I know fairly well all while working or doing things around the house. I very very very rarely get more than 5-10 minutes of just absolute "me time". Hopefully soon I will get a day to just relax and listen without interruptions. 🙂
Hi Omar.. Just got the gate today.. a blind buy for me.. its ok. A relaxing sound siganture for me. Can't compare it to the Hola.. I gave mine away already. But for the price it's an ok set.
Yeah, it’s not fantastic, but it’s a good package and it sounds good for the price, just wish it was tuned to be a little more exciting. I hope whoever you gave yours to enjoys it.
@faisalfirdausiinn4708 that's true. With different dacs and sources it would differ. But like you with so many sets I felt it was already excess. I just keep whatever is good for me.
@@boyseverino528 That is totally fair. However just to expand my previous point, recently i got (silent revisioned) CCA CRA. At least on my first day, i hated it. After letting it 'burn' for a week, it sounded pleasant to my ears. Another IEM which i felt underwhelmed is ZS10 Pro X. That is still the case now but there are a few tracks which shines the best with it, none other IEMs which i preferred most of the times can compare to ZS10 Pro X. My message is, try to hold onto your newly acquired IEM for awhile before letting them go.
This is an interesting IEM. Definitely not built nice and doesn't graph as nice as it's counterparts(particularly the 7hz zero2), but it's way ahead in terms of accessories. Like you mentioned, the cable is leagues better than other IEM's of it's budget. I suppose it's worth it in that sense. We have to consider the limitations a brand faces at 25 bucks, and I can respect TruthEar for it. Well rounded review
Yeah, I personally would have preferred a tuning more similar to the Hola. But it’s still a fantastic package overall. And that’s great for people just getting into the hobby. Thank you for the nice comment.
@@tristan_840 Sound-wise. I prefer these to the Wan’Er studio, but it’s very close. The Gate have a little bit more sub-bass rumble that makes me like them a bit more. But the gate also has better accessories and a better cable.

@@SATYAMx47 the Kinera Wyvern has a more V shaped sound signature, and has a little more detail overall. But I had some people comment on the video that the shape wasn’t comfortable for their ears and they couldn’t return it. If you are able to return it, try the Wyvern (any version) first. And if it fits you well, then just keep it. If it doesn’t fit, and you want something with a nicer cable, look at the Moondrop Chu:2. But if you live in a place with high humidity, you might have issues with it. If you’re in a humid area, look into the Ziigaat Nuo instead. Very similar sound, but still a decent cable and no worries with humidity
The Wyvern Abyss are similar-ish to the Truthear Gate. They’re more of a mild Harman signature. I would say the Wyvern Abyss have a little more bass impact, and a bit less energy in the highs. Full review for the Wyvern Abyss coming Friday. Just finished comparison listening. Scripting now.
I have the KZ Castor Bass edition. It's one heck of a basshead set. World Destroying Bass at the cost of midrange details and treble fidelity. I don't recommend it for every day use. But it IS a ton of fun with certain songs.
@@AudioAmigoReviews thank you, I ordered one yesterday as few said the staging is good with good bass. Now I am thinking of getting one for daily listening.. more balanced and clean. Which will be good Tangzu wan'er or GATe? I listen to all kinds of music mostly pop.

Hell yeah, 90s kid here loving the throwback transparent electronics. Can you see the driver moving when playing loud music?
Sadly no. The driver is shielded on the top and you can’t see anything.

For Bass and Pop. Of those three, go with the Tangzu Wan’Er. The vocal focus and extra Bass response are great for Hiphop and pop

i am going to have so many cheap IEMs by the end of this series
I’ll do a big “Under $25 roundup” with more head-to-head comparisons.
Just want to introduce all the contestants first hahaha.
