Yes! I feel like the only complaints I hear about the Original Wan’Er are: “Too much Bass” and “Not Enough Treble Detail” This fixes both those issues. So they can reach a wider market now.

I’m working on a massive update to my graph database. I’ll do a short video when the update is complete. The Wan’Er Studios were measured using my new methodology, so they aren’t directly comparable with anything on my current database. There are graphs for the Chu2 and Wan’Er Original on my database, but the graphs in this video were all made fresh, using the new methodology. So these are at least comparable to each other.

@@rajrj3061 Headphone Zone is just a store, they have a special version of the Original Tangzu Wan’Er S.G that is Blue. The Original Wan’Er SE is sorta V-shaped. Boosted treble and upper mids, but not as much treble energy as a true V-shape. This gives them a vocal focus that makes them give female vocals a little extra shine. The Wan’Er S.G Studio Edition is a new tuning with less bass and a little more treble energy for a more balanced sound. You lose the female vocal focus, but it’s overall a more neutral balanced sound. I’d say if you have a lot of female vocals or pop/hip-hop/EDM in your library, go for the original. If you have a lot of Jazz, classical, or instrumental music in your library, look into the Studio Edition

They have a rotation gimmick that claims to give you a deeper fit, while conforming to the contours of your ear canal better. Their extra small CP100 tips are the only tips my wife’s ears can tolerate. I plan on doing an “eartips explained” video, I’ll talk more about them there. Thanks for the comment!

It depends on what you consider “Best”. In my opinion, the Moondrop Chu 2 is the best all rounder under $20. But some folks think it has too much bass or is too bright. If you’re looking for something more bright/neutral I’d say either the Simgot EW100P or the 7Hz Zero. If you want something bassy and warm, the QKZ x HBB is the best under $20

I thought I was solid with that but now I'm conflicted These are for 'out and about' where I listen to a lot of RUclips videos, including music, and movies. Should I reconsider with the SE or the Chu2? What "tiny ear" tips does your wife use? I've never had a good fit with my old cheapies and will probably need to try some xs tips
The regular Wan’Er are also fantastic for “out and about” they’re great and you’ll love them. As for Eartips, we tried a lot, but the ones that finally worked for her were Spinfit CP100 SS size.
I often listen to music that focuses on vocals. Do not listen to EDM, remix, dance, rock, metal music. Should I choose the original version or this studio version (I can buy either one)

Hello! If I may ask, how do they reproduce vocals? I was looking for a set that produces male and female vocals clearly and naturally at this price range, as I listen to vocals-only audio. And I don't mind if they sound a bit forward as I don't have any instruments in my audio. Thanks!
If you like the Hexas specifically, I'd grab the Chu2. It matches the Hexas the closest of these three, at least to my ears. The Wan'er Studio has more Treble energy and less Bass, the Chu2 has slightly more recessed mids than the Hexa, and the original Wan'er has more of a female vocal focus.

@@hmf33 The nozzle on the Studios is 2mm shorter and 0.5mm wider than the nozzle on the original Wan'er. Other then that, the fit is identical. The Chu 2 are really great. I'll do a review on them soon. My only word of caution is be careful if you live in a humid area. the Nozzle can corrode in very humid environments. They sell replacements, but it's still an issue.
Awesome review! I am planning to buy my first iem. Could you recommend me some under ₹2000~ ($20-$25) Not completely flat, bass must be felt that impact. Vocals not that important since i dont listen to vocal songs too much. Treble shouldn't be too high and fatiguing but the sounds(cymbals high notes etc) should be clear and their presence felt. I mainly listen to pop, hiphop, edm, bollywood, some rock, some instrumental. I was planning to get the waner s.g but its vocals are prioritized more than treble so I cancelled that. Would be great if u could recommend me some. As for soundstage a wide one is greatly appreciated but an iem which has all of these must be expensive ig so a avg one is acceptable too. Once again, awesome review ❤. Would be great if u could make a playlist which u use to test out iems/headphones !
If you’re not in a very humid environment my default recommendation is the Moondrop Chu 2. It’s a bass boosted version of neutral with good treble and vocals that anybody can enjoy. HOWEVER if you live in a humid environment, the nozzles can corrode quickly causing problems. If you want that neutral with a bass boost sound I typically recommend the Truthear Gate. It’s got a bit less bass and a bit more treble energy, but it’s all plastic and has a fantastic cable
The format you used to present, i foresee you will be getting 5000 subscribers between 1 to 1 Half year at most(should be quicker than that). Subjected to the market ups and downs.
For Bass and midrange micro-detail and technicalities, they are essentially the same. In terms of High end and treble micro detail, the Studio edition is more technical.
I do have the Zeros! Again: I haven’t listened to them long enough to form a real opinion so consider this more of an impressions, but based on a quick comparison listen: the Wan’Er Studios have more bass quantity, but the Zeros have more top end energy. The Zero are overall brighter and a bit more detailed to my ear than the Wan’Er Studio.
I don’t know much about competitive gaming. I usually only play single player or “dad games” but from what fellow reviewers and friends have said, the Simgot EW200 is probably the best for gaming under $40. If you can save up a little more, the Truthear x Crinacle Zero (original blue ones) are a better choice, but they’re closer to $50.
Thank you for the Sub! If you have the version with the Microphone. Check the connection into the amp. Sometimes it makes things funny with adapters if it isn’t pushed all the way in. It could be the cable. I know QDC cables are harder to find, but if you have one. Try another cable and see if it improves. If that doesn’t help, something may have happened to the driver and unfortunately you might need a new pair. Hopefully it’s the connectors or the cable.

If you like the Chu and are looking to get a microphone specifically, the new Kinera Celest Wyvern Abyss Pro has a detachable boom mic and is around $32-$35. They sound fairly similar to the Chu, but with a bit less top end detail.
Thanks for a great review. I was disappointed with the comparison and perceived similarity to Chu II. I felt the Chu IIs sound very unnatural, it's definitely anything but flat, and nowhere near as good as the OG Waner for a variety of genres.
Thanks for the comment! The mids to treble are very similar to my ear, biggest difference being the bass response. If the bass is what feels unnatural I’d still give the Studio edition a shot. If it’s the treble you find unnatural about the Chu then I would probably avoid these. But above everything else, trust YOUR ears. They’re unique to you and being able to demo a set is a million times better than watching/reading a bunch of reviews. :)
I haven’t listened to the Gate too much. But after a quick comparison listen I have these first impressions: Gate has a bit more top-end detail and a bit less mid bass energy. Take this with a grain of salt. I typically like to listen to a set much longer than this before I make an actual opinion. So take this as more of a first impression. A full review for the Gate is in the works.
Zero:2 has more bass quantity than this or the Chu, with similar or maybe a bit less top end detail. If you prefer a bassier sound signature. The Zero:2 is a better choice.

Best for Mids/Vocals: Tangzu Wan’Er Original Best for Treble extension/detail: Simgot EW100P or Salnotes Zero original Best All-rounder: Moondrop Chu 2 Those are my recs as of now. Reviews for more coming. I’ll mention in the videos for each if things change. I haven’t tried every set in the price range, so there may be some better sets out there, I just haven’t tried them yet.
Yep. 3.4mm makes them some of the shorter ones in my collection. If you prefer a deeper fit I’d suggest looking into Spinfit CP100s or some of the Azla tips that extend the tips out.

The blue are drop dead gorgeous. If I didn’t already have the Jade Green I’d get those. I also prefer the sound of the originals. They’re my recommendation under $25 for people with a lot of J-pop/K-pop in their libraries.

The EW200 is better in my opinion, but is also more expensive. If you want the Simgot house sound but are on a budget, look into the EW100P. If you have the money, grab the EW200

Yeah, it’s one of the reasons I don’t like QDC. It’s supposed to be sturdier, but rather than the connector breaking, it’s always the resin around it.

There is no microphone option on the Wan’Er Studio. Only on the original Wan’Er.

I had to use dunu s&s. Stock tips are just not deep enough. Kept falling off.
S&S tips are fantastic for deeper fits! I use those and Spinfit 155s for IEMs where I can’t get a deep fit. S&S are my go-to.

If you like the Chu and are looking to get a microphone specifically, the new Kinera Celest Wyvern Abyss Pro has a detachable boom mic and is around $32-$35. They sound fairly similar to the Chu, but with a bit less top end detail.

Thanks for a great review. I was disappointed with the comparison and perceived similarity to Chu II. I felt the Chu IIs sound very unnatural, it's definitely anything but flat, and nowhere near as good as the OG Waner for a variety of genres.
Thanks for the comment! The mids to treble are very similar to my ear, biggest difference being the bass response. If the bass is what feels unnatural I’d still give the Studio edition a shot. If it’s the treble you find unnatural about the Chu then I would probably avoid these. But above everything else, trust YOUR ears. They’re unique to you and being able to demo a set is a million times better than watching/reading a bunch of reviews. :)
How do these compare to thruthear gate
I haven’t listened to the Gate too much. But after a quick comparison listen I have these first impressions: Gate has a bit more top-end detail and a bit less mid bass energy. Take this with a grain of salt. I typically like to listen to a set much longer than this before I make an actual opinion. So take this as more of a first impression.

how do you compare this to salnotes zero 2?
Zero:2 has more bass quantity than this or the Chu, with similar or maybe a bit less top end detail. If you prefer a bassier sound signature. The Zero:2 is a better choice.

Yep. 3.4mm makes them some of the shorter ones in my collection. If you prefer a deeper fit I’d suggest looking into Spinfit CP100s or some of the Azla tips that extend the tips out.

The blue are drop dead gorgeous. If I didn’t already have the Jade Green I’d get those. I also prefer the sound of the originals. They’re my recommendation under $25 for people with a lot of J-pop/K-pop in their libraries.

Agreed! I've been constantly tweaking my audio setup and processing. It's taken me a few videos but I'm a lot happier with it now. Thanks for the comment! It helps me dial in my audio settings.
Good review! What is better chose, simgot ew200 or wan'er studio edition?
The EW200 is better in my opinion, but is also more expensive. If you want the Simgot house sound but are on a budget, look into the EW100P. If you have the money, grab the EW200
