This is the best review I have found for the F1, you are so thorough and meticulous. Too many fill their videos with useless "Look at me, look at me!" moments. I really like your style. You approach reviews like a scientist. You have a new subscriber. Thank you.
You two are special. I have watched countless reviews and tutorials for longer than you've been alive (not sure your age?) You have such a clear concise way about the information you are sharing that it fits in my brain well. The Fusion 360 tutorials have helped me out so much. I am grateful to have found your channel. I think you should come up with a way that we could donate/tip for all your efforts.
@@markm49 both is improtant for good videos i totaly agree with him.. if the way to explain things is so good than you have found a good informationsource where the product itself is not so important cause they change but the quality of presentation stays on the same high level
This is a brilliant review, being thorough and meticulous helps me to understand the value of the unit. Your style and approach reviews are right to the point.
This is how a product review should be done! Lovely attention to detail on both the cutting, and engraving side. Extremely helpful and informative. Thank you!
17:00 You forgot on the cons, that a laser with mirrors never cuts vertically to the lay-on surface ... thats essential if wou want to build boxes for example.
kudos to xtool for actually providing safety features like fume extractor and enclosure. most chinese fiber lasers are totally cringe with how they ignore safety hazards.
Hi Aurora thank you for your hard work to review this machine ! Can i ask you if this machine can be good for stainless steel carbon steel engraving .Id like to use for knives.
Thanks so much for this video. I’m trying to decide XTOOL F1 vs LASER PECKER 3. Will mostly be using it for jewellery and occasionally wood, acrylic and leather and glass? If you have a video for this pls send me the link.
I believe the F1 works slightly better for jewelry engraving, as the preview outline appears easier for alignment and the engraving power seems slightly stronger, even though both IR modules are rated at 2W.
Great video, i just want to know if it does a depth engraving or if it only does marking/etching? Because I want a great quality engraving that feels like it and not that feels like someone scratched it with a sharp object.
If you don’t have that smoke purifier, just the F1, how bad does it smell when you do any work with it and keep that enclosure open? Or even when closed, how bad is the smell and smoke? Thanks!
Great video. Quick question though, at 8:43 for the wood engraving test grid, some of the squares in a row are higher than others, was that a design issue or by the machine? (first row, last square is higher; second row the next to last square is shrunk slightly and last square is higher et cetera)
I have the Xtool M1 but I'm selling it in Spain because I readed people having problems with their machines on their official facebook page and the second reason is that I need the money for another brand to buy a CO2 laser.
If you can't see the outline on lite objects, can't u just use a peice of dark vinyl or dark tape on it just to see the outline, then take off? Or leave vinyl on and go deeper?
Great review. Nice looking engraving at speed, maybe a good thing not using it to cut especially with the extended table, even with the standard size it looked like the cut would be at quite an angle out on the widest dimension.
Aurora, your videos about lasers are the best on the web. You are so easy to watch and listen to. You explain things perfectly. I have a question. If I want to primarily be engraving on bamboo or wooden coasters and metal lids for candles, do you think this is a good choice for me? I'm also looking at the new S1. I understand there is a big difference in workspace but I feel this one will work good too. Could you please advise me on this? Thanks in advance!
Can you tell me how to set the parameters for stainless steel? I would like to get a dark color after firing, but I have yellowish red. I am working on F1 software version V 1.5.0
Hello guys! I have a question: on my f1 i cant engrave metal with the bluelaser....at the beginning it worked very well but now after maybe 10 hours of using it doesent work... focus is good, settings are correct....but nothing to see on the surface on metal....can anybody help? Thx!
Will you testing the ikier k1? I got the ikier k1 pro and i am a bit dissapointed about some things for a over 1000€ laser. Especially the display screen doesnt hold good enough and there is no laser test file on board who is working.
Great video. How safe is this machine which lacks an enclosure for toxic gas (smoke) control and to contain laser energy or fires. I didn't see you wearing safety glasses or other shielding. Is there a risk of reflection of energy from metals/mirrors with resultant eye or other tissue damage? That plastic on the water bottle is likely vinyl (PVC) and is toxic stuff. The golf ball is likely urethane and the wrench is chrome plated, and both are toxic. I don't see anything like OSHA ratings or even real performance specs when I look at the documentation of the "Smoke Purifier" to suggest it is appropriate. You have a bright future and I look forward to your future videos. Please be careful and consider making a video on workshop safety.
I just clean the lens cover if the smoke makes it dirty after cutting woods. For metal and other materials that won't create smoke, I guess it doesn't require other maintenance at all.

Weird comment. Noticed a trend on this channel. Strange comments only about the presenter and not the actual product itself.

Always the best reviews of 3D printers and engravers on the whole internet : ) Thank you for all your hard work, both of you !

chill friday with another quality review from you (and your brother). thanks for your effort.
Let's hope they bring out a 50w IR upgrade for this unit!

Very helpful video! Waiting for mine hopefully today.
Quite useful. Thanks.I will support you just like old times.

They're just giving the world cost-effective laser eye surgery 😉
Fantastic review and the most helpful I have found. Thank you!
Great job!!! Everything is so detailed! 👍
Very interesting tool and a great review. Thank you for your work.
wonderful review here
is this engraving metal or ETACHING?
can i deeper my engraving with multiple passes
Hi Aurora thank you for your hard work to review this machine !

Yes, you can. IR laser like this is good for steel engraving.
Great job on the video and the review!! Thank you!

Will you do a review on the Laser Pecker 4 also since it is similar to the F1? You can also give comparison input on these two portable laser systems.
How it looks with engraving Glassbottles `?
Those preview line ups are super useful and look cool. Fantastic machine, only down side is the price but high quality costs. Sigh...

On the xtool f1 How do you get the letters on the gold heart instead of the frame.

You probably want to get the P2.
Can a 4.7 mm jewelry bar be marked ??

Nice machine. Just wish I could afford one with 20w head on both blue and IRED.
They have dark golf balls. Maybe I’ll have to try I could see a big market.
Can't u put color on it like u have to for tumblers on some lasers?

I will review the S1 in November. If you work with small items, the F1 would be faster than any other machines with a moving laser head.
Great video kiddo. Just subbed
Hello. How deep i can engraving on metal in one pass?
Can you tell me how to set the parameters for stainless steel? I would like to get a dark color after firing, but I have yellowish red. I am working on F1 software version V 1.5.0
Can this do gold wedding bands?
Hi, I love the wolf and eagle. Where did you get the files? Thanks
Have you ever had good results marking on to chrome? Thanks
Great review
Great video thank you

Does it work to cut thin wood and acrylic?
How do i connect my F1 to lightburn it doesn’t recognize it
Love your videos
What kinda maintenance is required for this laser. Thanks

@@AuroraTech great thanks. I purchased this laser using your link :)
Does anyone know if the RA2pro rotary attachment can support a cremation urn? or would an urn be too large for this?
Who's Dan? 😀
👍🏻👍🏻
@1:20 still no Linux support after all these years
