      I've never met him, but that's the impression I get from watching him on here. After all, he's from the south where people are generally much friendlier and more kind-hearted. 😊I'm from the south, so I'm biased, but it really is true. lol

    Dutch gave me a moment I will never forget the rest of my life. At the very first Starrcast I saw Dutch getting out of a car with a few heavy pieces of luggage and not a sole offered him any help so I decided to offer to carry some luggage for him after he got checked in he invited me into his room and took a few pictures with me. Thank you Dutch you're a true legend and a class act

    That show is such a great idea! It's the stories we hear on a regular basis from Dutch, but with other legendary figures to substantiate said stories. I also really like Jeff Jarrett as sort of the moderator cause he has an unique perspective as a performer and growing up in the business.

    Dutch, I watch the You Tube videos from the 80's. I don't watch the new stuff at all. I was stationed in Wichita in the mid 70's and I saw you as part of a tag team and feuding with the Oats Brothers.

    I agree with the "if something grabs you, you'll come back to wrestling" thing, I stopped watching 5 years ago and I'm still waiting for something to grab me back, I miss it, it's not like it used to be (and not in a good way)

From then on he worked his way from being a ref , to a manager, managing talent such doom, Norman the lunatic and the skyscrapers. Teddy is a legend. My Condolences to his family

    I agree with wrestling being an addiction. Proud addict since I would say 89-90. First memories I have are curling up on the couch at my grandparents house watching WWF. I don’t remember the first match I saw but what I remember catching my attention were the Macho Man promos. Roddy Piper. Hogan of course I was born in 86 lol so I’m prime audience for The Hulkster but I leaned more towards Savage. I grew up in a rural mill and agriculture town at the time and grew up around real Cowboys but I loved Motley Crue Van Halen Metallica and Macho Man was the perfect blend of cowboy and rockstar.

    Dutch is right. It is some sort of addiction. I don't watch it that often anymore, because the storylines are bad to non existing. But I still watch it from time to time, I look on the internet what i going on and I even play wrestling video games. And I also could watch a gazillion of other topics, here on youtube, but most times a watch or listen to wrestling related podcasts.

    Teddy long as best I can determine started in the old nwa in 1984 or 85 carrying ring jackets and maybe setting up the ring. I remember recognizing him on some old videos after he became a manager. Later became a referee and you know the rest of the story

    I got away for about ten years. I had a triple hernia surgery so was laid up for quite a bit. Was also furloughed from my job two days before I was supposed to come back to light duty bc of the pandemic hitting. Between not being able to do almost anything followed by not going anywhere I started reading a lot. Finally started reading bout wrestling bc it was mostly pandemic crap back then so was looking for anything else. Sure enough it hooked me right back in. But can say I was clean for about ten years lol

    Well, Dutch. Japan has changed. There might be people in Japan who are racists, but they arem ore open minded asyou think. A lot think rather the language barrier is a probklem, than what a person looks like or where he or she is from. Racism is a problem you have everywhere, regardless of WW2 or not. But again, it has changed. Watched enough youtube videos to know and I was there myself. So I can't confirm Dutch's experience from 2 decades ago.

      The stories are good though. Growing up in Fla in the 70's, we got both CWF and then Georgia Championship wrestling on TBS. Sometimes they showed the old WWWF out of NY on WOR 9 which was much different before it became "entertainment". The only thing I knew about the other territories was what I read in the magazines.
      Keep up the good podcasts Dutch and get the hell out of Florida! Hurricanes and cockroaches...

    • @andrewclayterman6230
      @andrewclayterman6230 Год назад

      That assault gimmick was copied and used in Nashville by Nick Gulas... Tom Renesto was the booker/announcer the heels this time were macho man and lanny poffo with angelo.. they attacked Chief Thundercloud and his partner.. laid 'em out and the son got in the ring.. they were going to jump off the top rope on the boy when Renesto ran into the ring for the safe with the hammer they used to ring the bell... HEAT? Hell was cooler!! Probably 1978- 81...
