    She thinks The Beatles' powerful appeal was not because of their "simplistic" lyrics or "simplistic" music, but because they were physically attractive and had good public relations. Their music and lyrics would not have outlasted them beyond 1970 if that had been the case. I think you were thinking of The Bay City Rollers or The Osmonds, darling.

      *Rock n Roll is renowned for its simplicity and their looks certainly played into their popularity. Most film stars are popular based on their looks and acting abilities. It's just how human nature works. Okay, The Beatles embellished their music with 'weird' and experimental things, but so did many around that time. The Beatles are far from being sacrosanct, they were four musicians from England who luckily became famous. Yoko does have a point, though, but she can't be dismissed just because she's Yoko Ono. How ignorant. She wasnt the number 1 reason they split stop ignoring the other factors that were happening at the time. I do believe that yokos presence in the studio was causing a lot of tension on the band but they were already falling apart way before that. TO NAME A FEW: Brian Epsteins unexpected passing, Paul was too controlling (i understand this was cause he didnt want them to split but imo he didn’t handle it properly), CREATIVE DIFFERENCES, John didnt care as much as he did before, and George was just fed up with not being taken seriously/ overshadowed (FFS SO MANY SONGS ON ATMP WERE SONGS HE HAD WRITTEN FOR THE BAND THAT WERE REJECTED), Allen Klein wasn’t an efficient manger for them. SO MANY FACTORS leading up to their breakup. It takes a quick search to learn all of this and yet you people still continue to place all the blame on Yoko and her weirdness. Stop using her as a scapegoat and just fucking accept the fact that the Beatles were going to breakup anyways and be thankful that they didnt end with shitty half assed album AND that all of their albums were good. You people annoy me.
      Anyways THANK YOU YOKO BECAUSE OFNIT WERENT FOR YOU "breaking up the beatles" THEN I WOULDNT HAVE GOTTEN THE ALL THINGS MUST PASS ALBUM AND THATS ALL I REALLY CARE ABOUT 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

  • @spiritualparadise4887

    Yoko was not the reason the Beatles broke up. They had come full circle and needed their own space. The studio was becoming increasingly fractious, with John wanting to experiment and move in the direction of avant garde, while Paul wanted to stay commercial and became increasingly controlling. If you want to blame an individual for the break up, that would have to be the "soft shoe shuffler" Alan Klein. If it wasn't for his greed and manipulation, maybe the Beatles could have continued in some form. But as Klein tried to suck the Beatles dry, as he had already done with the Stones, Paul said enough was enough, and legally dissolved the partnership, thus ending the Beatles.

    From my perspective, the seeds of the breakup were planted in March 1966 when John gave that interview allegedly claiming that The Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Whether anyone agreed or disagreed is irrelevant. It set up a chain reaction event which culminated in the Beatles decision to quit touring following their concert in San Francisco on August 29th 1966 at Candlestick Park. This devastated their manager Brian Epstien and led to his death just under a year later. Brian was like their big brother and the voice of reason. Without him all they had was each other. Yoko was just a symptom. They were going to break up regardless of whether she was there or not. There were other factors Allen Klein and so forth.

They isolate you from your friends and family (by convincing you you have to do it yourself) to have you 100 % under their thumb. Then they'll take you as far away from your old life as possible. They must be your only "support" system. Break up with this really time consuming and inseparable band of yours and move over to New York (Yoko). • @Ianspiegel
      @Ianspiegel 2 месяца назад +5

      I think you're reading into her expressions a little too much, pal. Besides, if you're going to dig deep, then you're forgetting the cultural boundary. Japanese people, especially back then, weren't so outward with their emotions, especially when surrounded by people who were. I also watched the Getback documentary, and she didn't strike me as some demoness trying to break up the band. Most of the time, she just quietly minded her own business, did she not? If anybody was responsible for the breakup of the group, it's all four of them who wanted to go their separate ways. Moreso, John.

    • @BeatlesCentricUniverse
      @BeatlesCentricUniverse 2 месяца назад

      @Ianspiegel With respect to your insightful comment, I stand by mine. Literally, EVERYONE on that rooftop and beyond, are cheering and clapping. Including the 2 people sitting next to Yoko, Maureen Starkey and Chris O'Dell. No one, including me, is saying she's an evil force. But regarding Yoko, the evidence speaks for itself. She was disinterested in their music and thought very little of it. That's not even debatable. As years passed, she changed her POV.

    • @BeatlesCentricUniverse
      @BeatlesCentricUniverse 2 месяца назад +1

      Also, the Get Back documentary was edited intentionally to place her in a better light. The original Let It Be film, and extant audio outtakes, show her in a completely different light: she was 100% intrusive. Irrespective whether John wanted her there or not. It speaks for itself.

    • @BeatlesCentricUniverse
      @BeatlesCentricUniverse 2 месяца назад +1

      @Ianspiegel Hey pal, she was the literally the opposite of "just quietly mind[ing] her own business." Watch Let It Be and listen to ALL the available audio outtakes. Then we'll resume this thread.

    • @Ianspiegel
      @Ianspiegel 2 месяца назад +3

      @BeatlesCentricUniverse Sounds like you made up your mind quite some time ago, but once again, I think you're investing too much of your opinion into facial expressions. What I was saying regarding Japanese people -especially fifty years ago- is that they would most likely feel awkward about outwardly expressing their emotions when other people around them were doing so. So you then go back to the people surrounding her expressing themselves, because...why, exactly? You keep saying it "speaks volumes" but you're yet to prove your point as to why. Everyone knows she wasn't into their music; she was never a fan, and found their material too simplistic. She never denied that. That also doesn't mean she championed their breakup, though. So I fail to understand where you're going with that, if I'm honest. Besides her facial expressions being the "evidence that speaks for itself", of course.

    Pienso que, No es buena idea, llevar a las parejas a los ensayos (por más de una razón).
    Sin embargo, creo que The Beatles no se disolvieron justamente por la mera presencia de Yoko en ensayos y grabaciones (aunque no niego que, en algún momento, esto pudo generar alguna situación de fastidio, o al menos acentuarla).
    Algunos de los motivos de tal disolución pudieron haber sido:
    Lógico desgaste por convivencia y toma de decisiones.
    Demasiado material solista para futuros proyectos.
    Libertad de disposición de horarios, y compromisos individuales.
    Ya ninguno de los cuatro corría tras el dinero.
    La sensación de no tener mucho más para ofrecer como banda en sí, tras el paso del tiempo (cambio de década) , frente a los cambios sociales y artísticos.
    El descanso, lejos del acoso de los medios de prensa.
    La atención que merece una vida familiar, en tiempo y lugar.
    La disociación pesada de cargar con cada personaje encasillado(ser permanentemente "un Beatle").
    Si esto es solo lo que yo imagino, no quiero pensar que pasaría por la cabeza de estos tipos.

    Alan Klein was the first big problem after Epstein died, then John's drug fueled laziness during the white album recording evolved into Yoko Ono and having her attached at the hip during recording Let It Be which annoyed Paul, she's a major cling on gold digger "artist", George didnt get enough opportunities to create, and then Paul played drums on Ballad Of John And Yoko which alienated and upset Ringo. They started playing separately, John was late, George was creatively stifled and Paul was a workaholic who had more work to do but the group was no longer keeping up with him. Meeting with Yoko is a meeting of two kindred spirits. Then they began to work together on what they loved most in life - outrageous. Life in plain sight, loud statements, press conferences lying in bed, slogans, marches in columns. As a result, John's name became a household name. He was perceived by everyone as an extravagant star from the TV screen. This was the reason for his murder at the hands of an abnormal person. Unfortunately, this was predetermined in his life. Dopo aver visto questo filmato mi convinco ancora di più che fu Yoko a dividere i Beatles. Semmai vi fosse la necessità di sottolinearlo tanto è evidente. E' facile dopo 44 anni inventarsi altre cause, la vera causa di un fenomeno, come insegna l'esperienza, è quella che emerge subito dopo che esso si è realizzato. Trascorso il tempo si può solo ricamare su detta causa ed inventarsi altri numerosi argomenti o fatti per rendere sempre attuale negli anni una vicenda allo scopo di vendere nel tempo più copie di una rivista o indurre un pubblico più vasto a seguire un programma radio o tv. Stupisce la spocchia, la presunzione con cui giudica i brani del gruppo e molti li snobba. Evidentemente per mostrare il suo originario scarso interesse per il gruppo e John. Ma è evidente che è una palese menzogna. Senza John sarebbe rimasta anonima per la vita. Chi si credeva di essere? Ebbe l'audacia e la presunzione di partecipare alle riunioni del gruppo e di approfittare dell'eccessiva tolleranza degli altri tre che avrebbero avuto il diritto di allontanarla subito. Per cui è di palese, elementare evidenza che John, di fronte ad una donna così determinata e tenace, fu messo di fronte ad un'alternativa secca, drastica: o lei o Paul. Lui preferì lei perchè sostituiva la madre amatissima , frequentata tardi e troppo poco, la causa principale della sua sofferenza, inquietudine e vulnerabilità interiori . Senza Yoko è molto ragionevole e logico ritenere che quasi certamente i Beatles sarebbero ancora insieme come i Rolling Stone, avrebbero un tale formidabile, inarrivabile successo, specie negli anni '70, '80 e '90 quando tutti erano diventati molto più maturi.Un successo , molto più grande di quello già conseguito , tale da scavare un abisso tra loro e tutti gli altri gruppi rock e pop nel mondo e probabilmente John sarebbe ancora vivo e Paul ricco dieci volte piu' di quanto lo sia oggi.
