If you want to blame an individual for the break up, that would have to be the "soft shoe shuffler" Alan Klein. One should keep in mind that 1970 and those close joining years were the peak drug taking years. They were obviously other circumstances to why the group broke up, one of the other reasons was they knew by then (1970) that they were millionaires . They all seemed to want to do other solo artistic things after being together as a group for almost 10 years.
After watching the Peter Jackson’s documentary it was quite clear yoko had nothing to do with the split. George quit first then it was over after that.

Right? you do realize she had all the calls to their apartment rerouted to her office so john wouldnt know when friends were calling, right? do you know she escaped from a mental hospital before she went to england and started stalking musicians to support her? she has used lawyers to keep the truth from getting out and the Get Back doc was quite white washed, right???

Effn yoko haters ... man. Get over it
She mentions the song being “a little bit too simplistic, you know.. the chords ..and the beat being the same”. Yet her own style of vocals is just the same screaming and screeching. In that regard I dont think she is well placed to to criticise.
From my perspective, the seeds of the breakup were planted in March 1966 when John gave that interview allegedly claiming that The Beatles were more popular than Jesus. Whether anyone agreed or disagreed is irrelevant. It set up a chain reaction event which culminated in the Beatles decision to quit touring following their concert in San Francisco on August 29th 1966 at Candlestick Park. This devastated their manager Brian Epstien and led to his death just under a year later. Brian was like their big brother and the voice of reason. Without him all they had was each other. Yoko was just a symptom. They were going to break up regardless of whether she was there or not. There were other factors Allen Klein and so forth.
Nobody could ever convince me Yoko didn't break up the Beatles. But then I listened to the complete Anthology of the Beatles front to back. I could listen for myself how wrong I was. You can hear them going their own ways. Yoko had nothing to do with it. The Beatles were like a flame that burned bright and fast. It's that simple. It doesn't require a villain.
Lennon's dream gig was playing with Chuck Berry and there he was, playing with Chuck on the Merv Griffin show with Yoko on the stage. Out of nowhere Yoko breaks out shrieking - not the way Berry wrote the song and worse, not musical. Berry does a WTH double take while Lennon just pretends nothing's going on. She didn't break up the Beatles but her level of self regard for her artistic "talent" was boundless.
Yoko did not break up the Beatles, they reached the point in their lives, growth, wanted to separate move into solo works, they were married, had families, it was time, and yoko in the studios was of no consequence it disrupted a little , dingo had no problem with yoko, George was George, Paul had his opinions at that time , but all was okay they were growing, some disagreements but that was part of their growth, they always loved each other , Brothers Forever ! !
For the umptwelfth time... Of course she did. Yes, she made John to do it himself, just like Meghan Markle made Harry to break up with his family. That's what manipulative partners do. They isolate you from your friends and family (by convincing you you have to do it yourself) to have you 100 % under their thumb. Then they'll take you as far away from your old life as possible. They must be your only "support" system. Break up with this really time consuming and inseparable band of yours and move over to New York (Yoko). Break up with this extremely cohesive and tightly hierarchical family of yours and move over to California (Meghan). See the pattern? Yoko was a mastermind in manipulation, as anyone who knows the first thing about her life and has a shred of life experience would know.
Regardless of what some (many?) think of her, she at least appears to be understanding and takes the high road or at least considers all sides and rightfully knows that the media wanted to make it more (certainly after the fact) than it probably was.
The idea that Yoko Ono would sit there trying to pretend to be talented enough to ACTUALLY ANALIZE THE BEATLES IS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!! NO YOKO, SCREAMING INTO A MIC IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG IS NOT ART. IT'S SHIT!!!!
The Beatles' heyday was a little before my time, but everyone was still talking about the controversy of what broke them up well into the late 1970's, and Yoko's name always came up. Later on, I think Linda McCartney kind of shared some of the responsibility. I like Yoko's assessment although she and John might have been the catalyst, that they were ALL ready to go solo. I also love John's opinion that in the long run, they gave us much more (individually).
@@BeatlesCentricUniverse well then I guess the Beatles are wrong because my opinion is based off interviews in which they said she was not to blame. Maybe they were lying
She refers to the Beatles music as "simplistic" yet what has she ever written that even comes close to that brilliant simplicity? Nothing, that's what.
Yoko Ono Lennon will be 91 early next year. Peace & Love, Yoko ... enjoy your golden years on the Upstate N.Y. farm you and your late husband John Lennon purchased years ago 🌏☮️
My wife doesn't go to work with me. Yoko should have stayed out of the studio and let the band do there thing. It had to be really uncomfortable for the other three. However, this was not the only reason they broke up. They were all drifting apart in there own ways. Just enjoy all the great music they gave us.
Watch the Get Back documentary. At the end of their final song on the rooftop, everyone is clapping. The camera immediately cuts to Yoko sitting on a bench. She is expressionless. Speaks volumes.
I think you're reading into her expressions a little too much, pal. Besides, if you're going to dig deep, then you're forgetting the cultural boundary. Japanese people, especially back then, weren't so outward with their emotions, especially when surrounded by people who were. I also watched the Getback documentary, and she didn't strike me as some demoness trying to break up the band. Most of the time, she just quietly minded her own business, did she not? If anybody was responsible for the breakup of the group, it's all four of them who wanted to go their separate ways. Moreso, John.
@Ianspiegel With respect to your insightful comment, I stand by mine. Literally, EVERYONE on that rooftop and beyond, are cheering and clapping. Including the 2 people sitting next to Yoko, Maureen Starkey and Chris O'Dell. No one, including me, is saying she's an evil force. But regarding Yoko, the evidence speaks for itself. She was disinterested in their music and thought very little of it. That's not even debatable. As years passed, she changed her POV.
Also, the Get Back documentary was edited intentionally to place her in a better light. The original Let It Be film, and extant audio outtakes, show her in a completely different light: she was 100% intrusive. Irrespective whether John wanted her there or not. It speaks for itself.
@Ianspiegel Hey pal, she was the literally the opposite of "just quietly mind[ing] her own business." Watch Let It Be and listen to ALL the available audio outtakes. Then we'll resume this thread.
@BeatlesCentricUniverse Sounds like you made up your mind quite some time ago, but once again, I think you're investing too much of your opinion into facial expressions. What I was saying regarding Japanese people -especially fifty years ago- is that they would most likely feel awkward about outwardly expressing their emotions when other people around them were doing so. So you then go back to the people surrounding her expressing themselves, because...why, exactly? You keep saying it "speaks volumes" but you're yet to prove your point as to why. Everyone knows she wasn't into their music; she was never a fan, and found their material too simplistic. She never denied that. That also doesn't mean she championed their breakup, though. So I fail to understand where you're going with that, if I'm honest. Besides her facial expressions being the "evidence that speaks for itself", of course.

Alan Klein was the first big problem after Epstein died, then John's drug fueled laziness during the white album recording evolved into Yoko Ono and having her attached at the hip during recording Let It Be which annoyed Paul, she's a major cling on gold digger "artist", George didnt get enough opportunities to create, and then Paul played drums on Ballad Of John And Yoko which alienated and upset Ringo. They started playing separately, John was late, George was creatively stifled and Paul was a workaholic who had more work to do but the group was no longer keeping up with him. That's why Paul's solo record was ready first and the Beatles sued him to stop its release date
I think the other Beatles considered Yoko as the reason to move on. Their style was already progressing beyond 80's pop and I think they would have disbanded anyway. If Paul, George or Ringo truly suffered from the break-up I don't know but to me that seems unlikely.
Not hating on this lady, John loved her, the Beatles split at the top of their game as John's wanted. But, lets face it, without her r/ship with lennon, no-one would have heard of this great artist 😅
Simplistic???!!! Who the hell is she to evaluate the music of the Beatles?! Where is her music, apart from her ridiculous so-called avant-garde art? Let’s hear it.
Who the hell is she? She's an incredibly accomplished classically trained pianist so she knows what she's talking about when it comes to music. Her screaming nonsense is not my cup of tea but the woman knows music.
@@mrfester42 “Incredibly accomplished classicaly trained pianist”? How many piano solo concerts has she given? How many albums of classical piano music has she recorded?
@@highl54 You're reasoning is as flawed as it gets! Playing solo concerts and recording albums is not the measure of musicianship. My brothers friend, who I have known for almost 50 years, is an unbelievably accomplished jazz guitarist who was trained by Joe Pass and became close friends with him. He has never recorded an album or played publicly. I'm a musician myself and have heard him play many times. He often played with Joe Pass privately in his home. He was good enough to play with one of the best jazz guitarists who ever lived yet he was not a professional musician although Joe tried to get him to make his living with music. He loves music and plays privately and sometimes sits in when some of the greats play in small clubs in NYC. He's never been interested in making a living as a musician yet he can play with any of the greats. He is a highly successful advertising executive on Madison Ave in NYC.
Something else that I think is overlooked about John & Yoko is the fact that she was 37 when she first met 27 year old John. There's a 10 year age difference between them, which is just plain weird to me. John was still a "kid" in a sense and here he is with this near middle aged woman letting her control his life- I can't attack her for anything really, because in the end John was in love with her and wouldn't have it any other way- but there is a hint of grooming involved there I think with their relationship initally

From a young age, Lennon wanted not only to perform, but also to shock the audience. As he grew older, this desire only grew in him. His first wife wanted him to lead a calm, measured life. Meeting with Yoko is a meeting of two kindred spirits. Then they began to work together on what they loved most in life - outrageous. Life in plain sight, loud statements, press conferences lying in bed, slogans, marches in columns. As a result, John's name became a household name. He was perceived by everyone as an extravagant star from the TV screen. This was the reason for his murder at the hands of an abnormal person. Unfortunately, this was predetermined in his life. His life with Yoko Ono was coming to this end. The psycho wanted to kill George too. He was very lucky with his last wife.

*Correct. Although being a millionaire (or money in general) has nothing to do with being a creative unit*

After watching the Peter Jackson’s documentary it was quite clear yoko had nothing to do with the split. George quit first then it was over after that.
you do realize that she had final approval and the most critical remarks by the group about how much of a problem she was were cut out? right? you can hear them blaming her on the Nagra reels. also, George quit because john had elevated her to his creative equal and still treated George as a second rate talent? You do further realize that Paul stated during the sessions that SHE was the reason he no longer wrote with John, right? and do you further realize that SHE was the reason John hired Alan Klein despite Pauls objections? Right? you do realize she had all the calls to their apartment rerouted to her office so john wouldnt know when friends were calling, right? do you know she escaped from a mental hospital before she went to england and started stalking musicians to support her? she has used lawyers to keep the truth from getting out and the Get Back doc was quite white washed, right???

For decades I’ve been waiting for her to say something worthy of discussion or brilliance.
" Tee- hee, y' know, kinda tee- hee, y'know, kinda tee-hee y'know..y'know?...hee-hee'"

Who does she think she is???
She was also looking for money to invest in her work
I think the other Beatles considered Yoko as the reason to move on.

For goodness sake Yoko....put your glasses on properly.
