  • Today we're going over what I don't like about the Tundra. They may seem like minor things, but it's important to understand that no truck is perfect and they all have flaws or things we wish were better.

Would you buy a Tundra in 2021? why or why not?

2016 models and up with 5.7 engine are suppose to have 38 gallon standard now.

Can you give the link/video for the Payload matters you mentioned please?

Agree on the fuel economy and the size of the fuel tank. My guess is why they don’t go bigger is it would reduce payload capacity which is already less than competitors. BUT , I love my 2008 Crewmax Ltd. It has been a great truck. When I purchased a TT I only would only consider a TT I could tow with the Tundra.

What you save on gas with a Ford you’ll spend twice more in repair cost.

Everything else being equal, I'd rather spend more on gas than repairs. Since you can plan for gas, but repairs can be sudden and unexpected.

I'm going to take a look at a 2011 Tundra TRD for TT duty, but Holy payload Batman! That's a chinzy payload rating. I have a 30', 6000 lbs. dry weight Keystone Hobbi Toy Hauler and plan carrying 25 gallons of freshwater, food, dry goods, clothing and a 750 lbs. ATV rolled aboard and a possible second ATV in the future. Crossing the Rockies is expected.
Would heavy duty Add-A-Leaf helper springs help in this situation or should I instead consider another tow vehicle?

Is the Tundra still in the family?

Is the locking rear diff as important if you have the 4WD model?

I would opt for a limited slip diff on a work truck. But yes, locking diff is a game changer in poor conditions when you don’t have much weight in the back.
