When they perform this live in concert, it’s often the closer and they do it as part of a medley with Beatles’ “She Came In Through the Bathroom Window.” It’s awesome
Man do I love to watch you discover Rob and Matchbox 20, two things that I grew up with in the 90s and have come back to again in the recent past. You discovered the heck out of this one! I am enjoying this song even more today! I hadn't been to a concert in decades, but a colleague encouraged me to attend a Matchbox 20 concert this past summer and I am so grateful. I also discovered the brand new album at that time. Wow. So much great music! They keep putting it out!
If you ever decide to look into Rob's solo work I would love if you could listen to "Her Diamonds" from his album Cradle song, every single song on that album is great, there are no bad songs on it. Also it seems like they tried to have at least one unique instrument in each of the songs on it which is really cool.
Such a great live performance, love it. Up there with Train “drops of Jupiter “ at the Howard stern birthday bash, or BonJovi doing Dry County live at Wembley
Rob Thomas has solo albums as well... and they're awesome... ALSO... Check out the updated version of unwell called "Used to Be" featuring 2 other artists with Rob... they made it in response to raise funds for mental health during the pandemic... it's hauntingly beautiful. It's on Rob's RUclips channel.
I spent so many of my youth chasing this band around and listening to every.single.thing. they put out, said, and even met the band and wives. LOVE that you love them too. Another great reaction.
Not only is this one of my favorite songs of theirs and in all of music in general but it's an absolutely awesome song live. Every time I've seen them this one has so much energy
Just saw them here in Cali last month. If you get a chance to see them they are even better in concert. Saw them 20 years ago and haven’t missed a step!
I was able to see MB20 a couple years back and they are still this good live - blew my mind! I recommend if you get the chance to go see them live. The energy between the band, music, and like tuned in audience was an experience in itself 🙌 - they are touring in 2023 😁
That performance took place at Phillips Arena (now called State Farm Arena) in Atlanta, GA back in 2003. This was from their third album. This performance serves as the music video as well. It's better than the album version.
My favorite song from Matchbox 20 is "Push" (the acoustic one). I don't know how and why, but everytime I listen to that version I feel like I wanna cry. It just suddenly affects my emotion.
Check out the “North” album. Kyle the guitarist sings and I believe wrote The Way. Each and everyone of them are so talented. It’s nice to find someone who appreciates this band like I do 👍🏻
Oh my gosh, Rob Thomas, Kyle Cook, Paul Doucette, Adam Gaynor, and Brian Yale are so insanely talented!! I hate that Adam is no longer with M20, but I get it. He felt like he was being held back because lyrical input was not welcomed by Rob and Kyle. Most musicians don't want to just show up and play. That doesn't feed the creative itches, so he left. M20 was definitely different after that, at least I noticed they were different. So sad! Kyle is one hell of a guitarist. He looked hot on top of that piano. I dig his style!! I love Rob. I just wish he would've worked it out with Adam and give up a little bit of the need to control everything. I will always be a M20 lover though. Love this reaction!
You need to do another album reaction to More Than You Think You Are by Matchbox Twenty. I believe that this album is better than Yourself or Someone like you. Every song is a hit including this song bright lights, unwell, hand me down, could I be you, and Disease.
I know you are probably tired of hearing me say this, but they are so fucking good live. I have probably been to well over 200 concerts in my life. There was a time where I would go see any show or artist. Matchbox 20 is the best band I have ever seen live. They are my 2nd favorite band ever, but as far as live, no one topped them. They just played so tight every time I saw them. Rob Thomas is as just as good live as he is on an album. I miss this band. Glad to see some new stuff on the channel from them. I have been on a Cher kick the past year so its good to hear this. There is a whole long ass catalog of Matchbox 20 shit to get to. They put out a live DVD concert (this is from that) and it will blow you away. Dude, you need to watch it at some point. The link is below. Do yourself a favor. They are fucking amazing and this album needs to be heard. The reason you hear Elton John is because they both know how to write hooks and music. Rob Thomas is a master songwriter. We need to get more of them on the channel again. Glad you liked it dude. ☮ www.imdb.com/title/tt0442840/
I love how the lyric website is called, “Genius”, while describing the song as about a girl going to Hollywood. The lyrics literally say, “New York”, and “Broadway”. Genius, indeed.
Please keep in mind that Rob isn't the only songwriter in this band...Paul does a LOT of the writing, too. Kyle does a lot of vocals (he has the chorus on 'Hang') along with some of the writing. I agree that Rob is talented, but Matchbox Twenty (Brian, Kyle, Paul, Rob) is a group of talented people. You can listen to Rob's or Kyle's solo stuff and hear how they sound away from Matchbox Twenty.
Now that you've seen two "live" performances from the "A Night in the Life of Matchbox Twenty" DVD (Bright Lights, Push), I'm wondering if you've seen the rest of the DVD? If you haven't, I highly recommend it ... not necessarily as a 'reaction' video, but just for your own enjoyment. Oh, and well I'm at it, I also highly recommend the "VH1 Storytellers" DVD; it's an intimate studio performance, all acoustic, with Rob introducing every song with a story of how each song came to be. These guys are one of my all-time favorite bands as well. It's been 10 years since their last album (as Rob went solo for a while), but they have a new album coming out next spring or summer. Can't wait to hear it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
He writes like Elton. Lorde embodies live also, top embodied live artist? Tash Sultana! Wondering if you are going to branch off of Matchbox 20 and start looking at when he went solo? I don't want to be lonely no more video would be my best suggestion if you do his solo stuff. Also epic male writers Jacob Lee Demons {Philosophical Sessions live} Cursed and my favorite Black Sheep
Yeah, so I see you loved it too! I never thought about comparing this to Elton John before, but maybe it is the piano out front as all of his were like that. Yes, he's great live! I won tickets to M20 from a radio station by throwing a plate on the floor and it breaking while I was on the phone and air with them. Lol!
As far as with age, I personally believe he is better than Elton. Elton has resorted to yelling more than singing in my opinion. Rob Thomas is the best there is, as a performance and a human♥️
Robs voice live sounds the same as the radio which is a quality I always respect. Love seeing them in concert.
Rob could sing my insurance policy and I would listen. ❤😂
One of my favorite live performances not just of Rob but of any other artist ever 🤗
the line: "I've got a hole in me now, yeah I've got a scar I can talk about" is one of THE best lines EVER!!!
I absolutely agree, one of the best lyric lines in modern rock
Getting ready right now to see them tonight at the Hollywood Bowl....Have 3rd row pit seats! Just a few hours away!!!
I never get tired of watching this performance
with all their hits I like, but when Bright Lights came out.. Just my instant favorit til now. Strong message
When they perform this live in concert, it’s often the closer and they do it as part of a medley with Beatles’ “She Came In Through the Bathroom Window.” It’s awesome
When they did this at the end of their concert I was at I fell in love with this song more.... Such a great song!
I wished I could hear it live. Sadly there hasn't been any tour here I Europe in many years

Its my favorite song of the album and it never fails to give me chills, and if I am actively listening to the lyrics then cry aswell.
Tabitha's Secret, Matchbox 20, and his solo albums. He is my favorite artist of all time!! Please check out his sing, Pieces (solo). Much love! ❤
Such a great live performance, love it. Up there with Train “drops of Jupiter “ at the Howard stern birthday bash, or BonJovi doing Dry County live at Wembley
Seen over400 acts, for just true music talent, Rob is the best live.
Rob Thomas has solo albums as well... and they're awesome...

I have goosebumps and you haven't even started the music ❤
Not only is this one of my favorite songs of theirs and in all of music in general but it's an absolutely awesome song live. Every time I've seen them this one has so much energy
One of my favs from them! I’m with you dude, I have loved this band since day one many years ago!! Great review
Just saw them here in Cali last month. If you get a chance to see them they are even better in concert. Saw them 20 years ago and haven’t missed a step!
Robs is amazing. I listened to every song on their cd repeatedly .saw them twice in concert. ❤❤❤
Just saw them live last night and I gotta say they blew me away. Just came across this channel and hope you do well. ❤

He is one of the best people I've ever been around. His stage presence is what you get in person.
Yes Rob Thomas is my favorite of course love Matchbox Twenty

Bro you were smiling ear to ear! 😁 Glad you are enjoying Matchbox Twenty!
Totally agree on the Rob stuff! He’s so good at conveying emotion and bringing you right on into it as well.
Downfall is another epic performance live... loved it in concert.
His voice 💙

Same, Paul, same!!! Best live show every time!! I'm so waiting for Matchbox 20-23 (after Matchbox 20-20, 20-21, and 20-22 all got canceled).
Anton. I love this band
I have all of there music. And bought a tshirtand a hoody.
I love how the lyric website is called, “Genius”, while describing the song as about a girl going to Hollywood. The lyrics literally say, “New York”, and “Broadway”.

There's a live version that Paul and Kyle sing parts too.
Yessssss! More please

Been watching this live performance since it first dropped on RUclips. Shit is amazing man
I've always loved this one as maybe my favorite by them or at least close. I have to come back later to see what you think of it. :).

I got to see them live last summer and they couldn't have been any better, and they played 24 songs. ❤😊

I'm guessing that's their best live performance! Like what could top it lol
Underrated band ❤😂😂😮😮😮😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤
There. Greatest 1# Steve tyler
As far as with age, I personally believe he is better than Elton. Elton has resorted to yelling more than singing in my opinion. Rob Thomas is the best there is, as a performance and a human♥️
Please don't stamp on the grand piano. It's probably expensive. Great video.
