FYI the oil pump NOW runs on half engine RPM like most oil pumps. BEFORE it ran at 2 times engine RPM. with all that unbalance of the Balance shaft. IMO poor design and lots of stress on that small shaft. NOW. should run many more miles before failure.
Good video mike. Looking forward to seeing other videos on this engine work. When my cp4 went out on my LML duramax it cost me 10500 at the dealer to have it fixed.
wow almost that much for the vw. But once it is changed over to the cp3 it is done for good From what I hear. IDK if there is an updated pump for the cp4. THe new pump should be here any day now. made it through customs. coming from romania. Half the price of local places. Lets hope it is good. Should be good feedback on ebay
yea I think the only upgrade to the cp4 is they put a heavy duty screen on that valve. that is suppose to catch the metal shavings and plug up before it ruins the injectors. Its called the cp4.2
Happy new year Mike. Great video on the oil pump modification 👍🏻 Hope it’s a successful fix for you 😄 Looking forward to seeing the next episode 😁 Cheers Stevie 😎🏴
Hello sir. My audi a6 2.0tdi 2005/6 have a chain guided oil pump with balance shaft, of course. I want to put 1.9tdi oil pump on it, so do I have to replace crankshaft too, or I can leave 2.0tdi crankshaft?
@@the2120company On audi a4 b7 , you need to remove or atleast unbolt the whole support frame of the engine. Which means you have to lift the engine up as much as possible in order to remove your oil sump, to make matters even worse you also need to dissasemble whole front of the car just to acces that small hex key (if you have this car with the chain driven balance shaft module)
Dude use genuine parts( the one you got says made in eu ... which could be made In Latvia ,Poland or Bulgaria )! Don’t save money on important parts ....

The oil pump spinning at 8-9 krpm periodically is crazy!

Hey my friend,... Just sayin, I use Lucas heavy duty engine oil stabilizer as a pre - lube assembly,, bearing journals .. cam journals, oil pump etc.
I have a low mileage cbea and a blown 2012 Jetta with a cjaa. Besides the minor differences can I use cbea in a newer Cjaa vehicle.

Happy new year mate, all the best for the year ahead. Are modern VW's worth the trouble?
So if I just buy the crank gear I can just pull the pump from my junked cjaa and bolt it straight into my cbea?
Guys , what about the 2.0 CAHA engine, looking at possibly buying an A5 with this engine.
Im not sure what the difference is In later years after 2011 I believe the hex shaft is 100mm vs 70 mm and may not be an issue.
are you planning on doing the swap the engine out or have the mobile mechanic do it ?
Im probably going to start it but IDK if he may come by to finish it. lots of parts to change over.
If I have a CJAA engine, do I need to do this or am I safe?
CJAA is ALL GOOD.....no issues on that engine. I changed mine eventually to one of those.
another option is replace hex shaft often
Easy for you to say, you have the take the whole bottom of the engine to change it.

I like this must people's power Will and Audi a4 tdi manufacture go backwards on drawing

Yea that was the gear. But those countries are the ones who supply VW with parts in some cases. Like Skoda and Seat not made in germany
