    Thanks for the video. I am able to run 4 sprinklers with a 25 foot radius and get great coverage and enough water. These sprinklers will be my saving grace this summer. I will be able to set 3 zones and with a timer, I will be able to water my entire yard easily over two days. It sets up really quickly and much better than constantly moving a single sprinkler around.

      I bought 4 of those today but it didn’t pop correctly. So I had to reduce it 2 and 2 :(
      I will play around with it again tomorrow. The length of four houses may have been a factor (65m), as I haven’t cut the garden hose I half yet.

    • @holly65584

      @@MrRodgerMoore Good to know, thanks. I've found definite length limitations with soaker hoses. Did you come up with a max distance?

    • @MrRodgerMoore
      @MrRodgerMoore 4 года назад +1

      holly65584 I was using the MP rotators 2000 and 3000- I might have been able to have more heads pop with the 1000’s. it’s hard to say- depends on pressure flow rate and diameter of the hose. Here in Australia a standard garden hose is 12mm. So many more heads pop up now I’m using 19mm Polly pipe as part of my irrigation system that was installed.

    Great DIY Educational Irrigation system video!
    Sadly my water pressure isn't all that great, but my Front Lawn would greatly appreciate an Irrigation system...
    Could I do a "Temporary" above ground system using 3/8" ID PVC to increase the pressure I need for 2 MP Rotor 3000 360° Heads AND a 60' Drip Line for my Vegetable Garden?
    At the end (Garden Side) I would use a "T Fitting" for a system drain for Fall Preparation...
    Thanks again for your knowlage and assistance!
    Take care,

    Do you leave those sprinklers there at all time? Don't they get in the way of lawn mowing? Or do you just remove them once you're done watering and just place them again later.

    • @ryanknorrlawncare
      @ryanknorrlawncare  7 лет назад

      I remove them and use them all throughout my yard.

    • @chateae
      @chateae 7 лет назад

      I see, thanks for the quick response. I imagine you don't leave your hoses laying around in your lawn all the time. So basically when you're done watering, you just remove and store them. And the next time you water, just get them out and re-place them into the ground again? How do you store the sprinklers and the hoses, do you detach them or you just reel them all in together for storage? Also, do you re-adjust the sprinkler angle/height every time you re-place them on your yard?
      Sorry for asking alot of questions, I really like your idea of above ground system and how all the parts are a la carte.

    • @ryanknorrlawncare
      @ryanknorrlawncare  7 лет назад

      No problem. My yard is big enough that if it's time to be watering, I pretty much have them moved to a new spot in the yard each day and rotate them around each section. If I am not going to use them for a while I take them apart and store the hoses and sprinklers separately. I normally run them on spraying as far as they can go and only adjust angles to fit the section that I'm watering. So it's not too tough there either to quickly adjust things.

    I've tried this over the weekend and failed miserably. Don't have enough flow and pressure to maintain a full spray. The end of my line reads about 10psi. I'd like to know how all of you who do this manage to pull it off with the home faucet pressure. Are you adding a pump?

    • @ryanknorrlawncare

    I always hate those darn hoses that kink so easy whenever they are bent for any reason. I got some 90 degrees elbows so I don't have to make a bend at the corner where hoses get connected to the spike and all. Not sure if it was really necessary or not, but as cheap as they are, I just thought I'd give them a try to see if they work out well or not. I was laughing at Home Depot when I went to get all the parts that you identified in your video. Half the items are indifferent locations in the store and virtually no one in my local store had a clue as to what they sold when I asked for the parts. To make sure the elbows worked with a garden hose on the threads, I had to go out to the garden area of the store just to get a hose to test the part on.

    • @ryanknorrlawncare
      @ryanknorrlawncare  7 лет назад

      Arjun Hariharan not sure exactly what you mean. it sprays in a pattern depending on how you have it set. 90 degrees to 180 or you can buy ones that go to 210 degrees all the way up to 360 that sprays in a full circle

  • @bigdan034
    @bigdan034 6 лет назад

    Do you have to open the faucet to the same point every time you use the system to get the same spray distance?

    • @ryanknorrlawncare
      @ryanknorrlawncare  6 лет назад

      I always set it to go pretty much wide open. You can adjust distance on the top of the sprinkler within reason. I think the heads I have are 20-30 feet so you can change it.

    I did this years ago with pulsating sprinklers. With my 2 irrigation hook ups and 7 sprinklers I could water my whole 1/2 acre of grass at once. People freaked out even though I only watered 2 to three times a week. Now I do it with 3 sprinklers at a time running almost constantly to cover the whole thing and people are happy. Go figure. 😂
