I've had this printer for some time and it is the best I've ever owned. Had a jam and watched video all the way to the cartridge access door and that cleared the jam. Good to go once again.

Glad I watched this before making the jam worse. 2 sheets of paper drawn in, one was easy to remove after removing the duplexer thing on the back. Could see the 2nd sheet stuck within the printer itself but couldn't reach it so I came to this video. Never thought to check the front of printer for the paper jam, easy removal. 2nd paper jam in about a week. Probably time to replace this great printer or at least search for a back-up. Many years of good service.

My Paper jam on my 8600 was caused by a slipped belt. Remove panel on left side of printer. The belt is below the circuit board and is visible. If the belt is off and not broke you'll need to remove the circuit board and reinstall the belt!!! Wasn't an easy fix but I got it working. Good luck.

Oh my, paper jams are frustrating! Mine began as an intermittent issue and over months has progressed into an intractable problem. Using HP paper and cartridges. Having dedicated a few hours toward its resolution, here is what I did: Am familiar with HP printers, so had already checked the cartridge area carefully for stray bits of paper (none). Had also removed the duplexer to check in the rear area (none). Did not know that I could take the duplexer apart, so now I have done this too. Carefully cleaned everything within reach. Looked behind the printer cartridges...nothing there. I did not see this suggestion in the video, but I turned the printer on its backside and looked into the area where the printer paper comes out (just above the paper tray) viola! Spotted two small pieces of paper jammed there and was able to remove them with tweezers. Finally!!!
But now after all this monkeying around the quality of printing is now poor. Tried aligning (several times, failure message) cleaning printheads (several times) and checking printout quality. Faded appearance to the print quality. My cartridges are full, but do I need to replace them? Replace the printhead? All this time and effort, and although I located the jam, I still do not have a working printer.

Then me and my friends started drinking, Kolya, our weird friend suggested we do something more radical, like you know, ask for help. First we beat him up, but then we drank some more and his idea made more sense.

One simple line of code can do this! No one would ever know or even find out. The auto manufacturers got caught using fraudulent code to falsify emissions reports. We are gamed by these big companies bc they need us to be repeat customers and often enough to keep their businesses running.

Cant get cartridge access door to open. Feels like there's a latch that's not letting go. Spent 2-1/2 hours on the phone with HP. Told me to open rear access door (my printer doesn't have one). Told me to clean the rollers (can't get to them because door won't open), plus...how does that help open a door? My last HP lasted for a really long time and it felt like it was a quality machine. This 9010 seems cheap, and I'm always afraid the paper tray will break because it's cheap plastic. Remember when HP sold quality machines? I do.

    • @HPSupport
      @HPSupport  3 года назад

+Debbie Wegener I understand you aren't able to insert the paper tray.
Inspect the tray for any broken parts that might be sticking out and catching when trying to insert the tray.
Gently put in a little bit on the one corner and then line it up for both corners and just move it a bit side to side to slide it in.
I have included the manual, go to page 24 for loading and inserting tray.

I have been working on this for hours. I hadn't used this for 2 years, and then pulled it out to print out flyers for my organization. Printed a test page where I just typed "test" on a word document and printed in draft form. That worked. Then when I attempted to print out again, I got an error message saying paper jam. I've done everything from every video, and nothing has worked. I'm not some dum dum that grew up in the sticks. I've cleaned the rollers for every part where the papers come through, even on top. I've unplugged from the back and the power source multiple times to reset it. I've updated the software.... nothing. Of course, it's after the warranty expired, and I just dropped $107 at the HP store for ink that I'm about to return. I should just go get a brother or something, because there is clearly an issue. I've peered through every part of the printer I could with a flashlight. It is cleaned up entirely, and there is no problem I can see. This is a printer issue. It's not a software issue. It's frustrating. I give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if it might be possible determine exactly which part of the paper feed is causing the problem. My printer has occasionally jammed, but today it started jamming every time, and I can't print a thing. I've taken a photo of a jam that shows where it is happening, and would like to show it to HP. The paper is always jammed up just behind the perforated long metal plate that appears to be the track for the head with the ink cartridges. When I pull it out, it is usually in accordion folds and has a lot of ink on it. Does that give a clue? I may have to view the video again and take notes of the various procedures, but I'm not confident they will help.

I didn't really want to do everything in the video, and was hoping to solve the problem by focusing on where the jam occurred. I took notes on the instructions in the video, but decided to try my approach one more time. Using a light, I looked carefully at the plate where the printhead travels, and found an unwrinkled quarter-inch piece of paper beneath it and another tiny piece in a wad. Using a surgical forceps inherited from my late physician-dad, I carefully retrieved both, and the printer works great again. Yayyyy!

When I turn on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer, it immediately reports a paper carriage jam and that the ink cartridges can't move, even though I have cleared all visible paper jams. I've checked for any remaining bits of paper, reset the printer multiple times, and ensured the ink cartridges are properly seated. Despite these efforts, the error persists. How can I fix this issue?

Hi there, thanks for contacting HP Global Social Media Support!
      I am here to help!
I'd request you to perform a reset on the printer. Kindly do the following:
      1) Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
      2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
      3) With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
      4) Press the power button for 30 seconds.
      5) Wait for 60 seconds.
      6) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.
      5) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
Note: To make sure the power source functions correctly, make sure the printer is plugged into an electrical outlet and not a power strip or surge suppressor.
      Let me know!
      Regards,
      HP Support

Wonder if this happens to others. I send a doc to the printer. One page prints, then I get the paper jam error pop-up. I follow all the steps; power off, remove back duplexer, replace back duplexer, check paper tray, align paper tray supply, open front panel, close front panel. I have never found any paper jam anywhere. Just viewed fixing paper jam video for 8600 e-AIO. Followed all steps again for the Nth time. Powered on, went to reports and successfully printed Printer Status Reports Page after which I again received the paper jam error message. There is no paper jam anywhere! I am baffled. Okay, this happened to me too, but just use the ink cartridge removal side and you should be able to see it. All paper jammed is accessible from either the duplexer side or the ink cartridge side if you follow the steps. Otherwise, as HP said, you're probably seeing something other than actual jammed paper.

Hi Bill. Please search for C02917294 on HP's home page or using Google search. It is a paper jam document for the Officejet Pro 8600 series. Solution three in the document has detailed steps on how to clear a paper jam in the automatic document feeder (ADF).

Is this a joke? HP, Epson, Brother, Samsung, all these companies can't make a printer that sooner or later is'nt going to jam all the time. I mean: all the time. Hey, HP, you're not alone in the business of paper jamming.

You can't be serious? "Pull the paper carefully and look for pieces. Remove any pieces or you'll have more jams"? No *bleep*. So, no better steps for removing all paper? Why did you make something inaccessible?

+Wendy B Paper jams can be real or false. The printer might report a paper jam even when there is no jammed paper. The steps in following document apply to both real and false paper jams: bitly.com/2XqlZlA

Essa impressora é uma porcaria, ou atola ou danifica o papel. Não comprem. Joguei dinheiro fora.
