New subscriber. You are amazing! Her ears have thinned sooo much from TD steroids and cleaning them off etc. I’ve since ditched all the meds & discovered LDN which is a miracle but now she’s had SO much trauma with oral and TD was only option-thank GOD I found this video. I’m sharing it rtn. ❤
Thanks for doing this video. Great information, my cat will be getting 2 different transdermal meds and I wasn't sure what other ways to give besides the ears.
Glad it was helpful!
Great advice! Thanks!
New to this and found your video. Thank you very much for this. ❤️
you are welcome!
Thank you so much for this? My cat has chronic ear problems and hates being touched on her ears. Now I have to give her transdermal thyroid meds twice a day and she's becoming afraid of me. I'm also going on a trip in a few weeks and I know she won't let my mom touch her ears at all! This is so helpful!
let me know how it works for you
This helped me so much I had to watch it twice. My sweet girl has Stomatitis, and trying to give her pills or even liquids by mouth was impossible due to her pain. She responded well to steroid shots, but that's too much, so we decided on transdermal prednisone for her. She doesn't like me going into her ear. I am applying to the top of the outside of her ear. I can see her her little veins on the outside, so there's hardly any fur there. I'm giving her treats while giving it to her. I think it will work!
Thank you for this, I need a pinna alternative also. One question.. are you certain it is safe for all PLO’s to be ingested by mouth? A cursory search includes many PLO’s say ‘do not swallow’. Even if safe for humans, do we know these transdermal bases are safe for our cats??
Thanks for the great info!
yes, many tests have been done to show safety for cats. Our biggest problem is cats being so stressed by the process of getting in oral meds, they do not get the meds or the stress negates the benefits. Talk to your veterinarian about all yor concerns - injectable meds are also an option
Çan steroids be giVEN TRANSDERMALLY MY CAT HAS ASTHMA....THE VET GIVE ME LIQUID..steroids.....BUT HE RUNS FROM ME WHEN HE SEES THE syringe... Help it just me and him....
Ask your vet for transdermal steroids. I have a cat with feline asthma and it’s the only thing we use.
yes, they can be given. The stress and chasing is definitely making his asthma worse. ask for the transdermal and try it especially recording his stress levels.
