Ya you didn't explain it very well you left out the most important part. You said each player gets 13 turns for 13 boxes. But you can score up to 4 or 5 yahtzees. So what do you do with the empty boxes above Yahtzee of you score more than 1 Yahtzee
I think it's quite misleading that you said the the three of a kind or four of a kind are scored any time the player gets three or four... same think with how you said if the player doesn't get what they were trying to get they cross it out. It's up to the player if they want to put a score under three of a kind or four or a kind, or the top section. It's also up to the play if the want to cross out what they were going for, if they want to take chance, or if they want to cross out something else.
if you score 5x6 (30) and 5x5 (25) you already have 55 points then you would need 3x4 (12) that totals 67 points. In some rule-sets the first six fields are exclusive to round 1 while the remaining fields are round 2 which means, if you got 4x4 (16) during round 1 you cannot fill in that score on the lower part of the game... This makes it more strategic.
😯 Oh wow and oh my goodness here, seeing all these games brings back my childhood and takes me back to the 1980s as well. All these games were fantastic and enjoyable to play back then too. Games like Yahtzee, parcheesi, sorry, Monopoly, trouble, The game of Life, shoots and ladders, mouse trap, checkers, don't break the ice, hungry hungry hippos, operation, battleship, twister, uno, ants in My pants, don't break the ice and there's other games that I can't think of right now. I will say though they were great times, great memories and great entertainment. boy I miss being a 1980s kid and living in that era. Want to go back but I know I can't, it doesn't work that way
Why was this game fun? I remember playing a lot as a kid, but looking at the rules now, it seems boring. You're just rolling dice trying to get the highest number. Booooo
