Agreed agreed agreed. Just watched one that was utterly baffling, but with this tutorial I could now print out my own score sheets and play, and I think I understand everything about it.
After watching your video I am ready to start my first game right now. The video I watched before this one was like listening to someone read the instructions that came with the game... it just left me confused. Thanks!
Going to use this with my group of 19 Japanese students during our English Games summer program. Lot's of good expressions that can be used in the game and in everyday life: I need.... I have my... How many... Total... etc. etc.
It's been years... forgot how this game "works" .. I recently just got a new game, when I read the instructions included, they didnt make this much sense. Thanks.
So if I score a second Yahtzee, so already have scored 50 for the first Yahtzee, I get 100 bonus points, but would/could I also fill in a box such as one of the straights or a full house with the second Yahtzee? Even thou a Yahtzee isn’t actually a straight or FH? So I kind of get a further bonus of counting the second Yahtzee for one of these other options that I hadn’t actually got? I guessing so as otherwise you could end up with inconsistent scoring as the “extra” Yahtzee isn’t actually an option on the regular scorecard, it’s just comes when trying for something else...
You can only score one box per roll. Sometimes it might be tempting to use a yahtzee to score on the top half of the sheet, but that at most would add up to 36 points, much less than a second yahtzee's score. There also is no limit to how many yahtzees you can score either so it's the better choice.
@@davidgammie1310 Thanks. It looks pointless and I'm glad I know now what kind of a game it is. But I still don't know the object of the game. Sounds like something you'd play with unfair older cousins who made up the rules as they went along.
@@davidgammie1310Glad I'm not the only one. Of course it's my family's game of choice currently (oh joy) it's remembering the options of scoring for me 🤣
So when do you add scores to top section? I don't get it. I understand when to add to lower section, but when do I add to upper section? At the same time? Say I got double 3 and triple 4, I put full house score in the lower section and also put two 3s and three 4s in upper section for the same round?
This was horrible and you didn't explain how the top rows were calculated, just the chance and all the bottom rows because you didn't fill the top and bottom in contemporaneously, so where did you come up with the score of 51 if you were setting aside the pairs/three of a kind, when did you score them, or did you just keep on rolling? How can you get a Yahtzee and a straight on the first game? Does it keep going until you win or is it arbitrary, because you didn't explain the limits there. Horrible explanation... I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.
51 was sum of 6 turns or 18 rolls. He fast forwarded through the game with mock numbers. If you see 3, top row, he either rolled no 3’s those three rolls, or chose to dedicate the threes to making a combination in the lower level, like three of a kind or full house You have 13 turns with 3 rolls each, with that, you must choose what you are going for. Watch it again ....and again
I know, I don't understand how. Do you go one by one on the row and try to get the goal, what is the object of the game? That should have been explained.
THIS tutorial is MUCH better than some of the others I've seen!! Thank you!
I agree! Thank you for taking the time to post this video.
Agree

Yep. My 12 year old and I watched 3 vids and this was our favorite explanation.
This made so much more sense than the other ones I watched. Thank you!
Yep, this is by far the best video on Yahtzee after watching a few. Good stuff!
This tutorial is what I've been looking for!!
Thanks so much for the super clear and easy explanation of the game!
This is the ONLY explanation I have seen that is any good. Thanks!
By showing some playing examples this demonstration is much clearer than other videos where they just state the play rules. So thank you for that.

“Once you score a goal, you can’t score it again.” Key info missing from other tutorials. 👏 Ty 🙏
Bro thanks for making an easy tutorial all the other ones were complicated as hell
About to play Yahtzee with my friend's family. Haven't played in like 5 years lmao
How did it go, did you get laid?
@@southernclassik I’d give you a million dollars if I had it

this was very helpful. thanks hogwa5h
What if you get a yahtzee at the end, do you get to roll and try for a bonus Yahtzee?
So this game is kind of like a combination of poker and blackjack with dice?
Thanks bro, it really helped!
So your top section is supposed to be throwaway whilst you build up good rolls down below?
Question. How did you score 40 points on a Four of a Kind? The max should be 30.
Answer:
..........I have no idea
It's been years... forgot how this game "works" .. I recently just got a new game, when I read the instructions included, they didnt make this much sense.
Thanks.
Do you count each roll then if you rolls two dice to change them do you add that to your score continued?
Great tutorial!
Nice one!
So good
It's a good tutorial BUT omits the VERY important strategy of aiming to get the 35 point bonus.
Good explanation
WOW., I KNOW HOW TO PLAY YATZEE BY MYSELF IN MY ROOM LATE AT 0326 WHEN I HAVE PT 45 minues later. YAHOOOOO thank you so much yay woo
Why don’t you let the dice roll out but keep them contained in the cup?
My gf wants to play Yahtzee with me and I have no idea what I’m doing lmao
Did she leave you because you didn't know how to play?
@@MrEjblanco lmao you said this right when she broke up with me

How on earth do you score 40 for 4 of a kind?
Thank you
I still don’t get the upper section
I still don't get any of it.Difficult game and takes months to learn it.Anybody say's otherwise then they are lying...

Great tutorial, I was low key cringing on your upside down handwriting.
Trust me, I know, lol.
ok, I think I understand
Ok
I want to play a game with someone
Where do I put a second yatzee
Your sheet should have a box for you to put a check for every additional yahtzee you score.
I still am not getting it frustrated
I think I don’t understand English at this point 😂
So, you kind of need to know poker first?
Thanks Hogwarts
Hoggle!
Oops sorry 😰
lol it's a quote from Jim Henson's "Labyrinth" . You're all good lol.
