Too much money has diluted the sport. Back in the day working class people could afford tickets so there were better atmospheres among the big clubs. Also stylistically teams were significantly different, whereas now they all play more or less the same. I can't stop smiling as a Gooner whenever I see anyone from either club reflect on what is for me the best rivalry I've ever seen. It truly was incredible...genuine animosity and fireworks, with brilliant players on both sides. And the storylines all the way throughout...doubles, trebles, winning the league at the rival's ground, both teams experiencing getting clawed back during the title run in, going unbeaten just to have it ended by their rival. It really had it all. Looking back at it longingly with Man U fans while sharing a laugh is always fun to do. Would love to see us and them battle it out like that for honours, but the way the game is played and the style of players these days means we'll never see anything like this ever again.
