I am completely and utterly in love with this ending. This isn't just Law at it's absolute best, it also shows what the heroic part of Law encapsulates: peace, harmony and cooperation. The fact that Zelenin ultimately refuses the mindless world of Law and fights for a better future says a _lot_ to me, and I feel like this is perhaps the best Law ending in the series, hands down.
It's also heartwarming to see her one last time shining in her previous form, as if saying "despite everything, I'm still me". That, the music, the scenery, the way it presents the defects of your desire for peace as something to reflect upon rather than the abstract "oh you had to purge the impure souls", everything. I swear I keep getting shivers, the execution is top notch.
I mean it still involves brainwashing everyone into placid drones and leaves the world utterly helpless if a conflict that involves force breaks out again this is way better than law usually does though yeah
@@Yinlock470 all she does is make people less violent. Conflict exists but people solve their problems with discussion rather than violence and bloodshed.
I think all of the new Endings are the best part of each alignment. New Chaos shows that even talking and understanding each other is a way of being strong. Yes, humans are kinda screwed, but those with the will to fight of the brain to create can build a better future. New Law, as you said, is about peace. Yes, to be a ever lasting and true pace humans need to leave part of their humanity. A sacrifice kinda whort it. New Neutral shows how humans are assholes, but there always will be people with hope for the best
I dare say this is the best law ending in the entire franchise for how tragically empathic it is. It's not about order or even that much about God, but about the eternal desire of people for suffering and hate to finally end forever. Though lingering the implications of how fragile such a paradise would be if it was an isolated community rather than universal, and how the instinct to inflict conflict is what accelerates our growth, in the end, we will never stop wishing we didn't have to. At least, that's how the new law theme makes me feel, there's just nothing of the self-righteous douchiness it usually reflected, only sorrow for the unnattainable.
I don't know. It seems too much like DeSu 2's lawful end for my tastes, even down to the idea that removing humanity's aggression may hurt their ability to respond to future threats
buntado6 eh,id argue for 4's law.Mikado is safe, the angels arent killing/maiming people, and everyone seemed generally happy.Hell, merkabah was so devoted to keeping mikado safe that he sacrificed both you and him so nobody had to suffer.
It's not a relatable happiness due to the stillness it represents and the genocide it involved with everyone in Tokyo. It all comes down to that, relatableness, and this is the closest I picture in my mind when imagining the heaven that Christians actually hope for.
Best law ending in the entire series hands down. An actual law ending. A world with freedom, but instead of competition, it's harmony and cooperation between humans. The hot chick had character development in the first hour of the path more than herself in the entire base game. Best law ending.
Wow. ...that was... Really good. It actually made me tear a little bit. This is one Law ending I can absolutely say I like. Like other comments said before me, it's not even about God or angels anymore. It's about the happiness of humanity. One that, in this day and age, may be impossible to attain.
@@Undying3001 A world Lucifer wanted is basically the new Chaos one where its basically a Darwinian world. Here, he awknowledge despite Zeleni's human nature she has a strong conviction to put it forward on this plan. Of course its not perfect by all means since only keep humanity in union without conflict among each other, and the light vanished all demon kin. But here you only fight an aspect of god and not the one per-se since he was damaged by Mem Aleph and the mothers, so if the real one decide to come foward, everyones will had a hard time unless Zeleni resolve that problem.
What's interesting is Mastema in IV acts the way Zelenin does in this ending, but Mastema here is a much worse creature who doesn't think of humanity at all beyond the context of God.
I think it's implied after the events of Strange Journey he changed his ways and tried to find a new way to serve God AND help humans. Which resulted in Red Pills... his heart was in the right place at least.
I love how Alex and George try to reason with Zelenin. It's obvious from her speeches that she is either totally dedicated to her path, or completed enthralled by Mastama. ...is how she was originally portrayed. It seems that Atlus is toning down their dire ending routine.
zelenin was originally just drunk off her newfound power and went full tyrant immediately, jimenenz has a similar arc the new routes are basically alex reminding them of who they used to be: a woman who hated fighting and a guy who liked his demon buddy and neutral is just Ensign Protagonist Is A Total Badass
Yinlock thats great, but it doesnt make sense for zelenin. While she was the more sympathetic of the two,she was also a bona fide angel.A being Thats basically hard wired to serve god.the fact that alex got through to her is basically saying that any angel can be convinced by a few words and a single sentence by an mc.Its on the same level of danu making a new dagda.
"You know, brainwashing everyone into worshipping God and exterminating the rest sounds a bit too radical. Let's take it down a notch. World peace good enough? Alright, world peace it is."
I really like this ending! It's probably one of the best endings for the law route in recent years. And on a side note relating to removing humans aggressive and prone to fighting nature. I'd like to think that the main character was left with his drive intact. Because the way they have it happen it doesn't seem like the main character isn't actually effected by the rebirth caused by the cosmic egg since he himself chose how it would work. Sort of like a safe guard in case some force ever did try to rise up and take over the world again, He would be there to stop them, or at the very least inspire/teach people in the next generation to be there and rise up to the challenge should something ever happen. That way even if most of the world has lost it's fighting spirit, there would always be someone ready to protect the peace. Sort of like how the axiem in SMT IVA can create a messiah to help protect a universe whenever necessary.
Problem: The eggs only affected Zelenin to make her into the pilar Tandano were still normal because he had his will of fight but were pacified already Now, the problem is that he is still mortal, like, the only ending where he becomes a God is New Neutral
Take note here about mastema. He was MORE than willing to fight a losing battle in chaos and diet chaos, yet here he's incredibly reluctant. He knows that zelenin is still on his side and that she'll make people praise god.Plus, she had the upmost care for him even up to this point.Mastem really is the most human of the heralds.
wouldn't that be because he's the one angel God gave permission to use and control demons to test humans faith? if I remember his flavor text properly in OG SJ anyway.
evilanimegenious his text doesnt usually have anything involving texsting faith,or at the least not in every game.Even so,Not all demons act how their supposed to.Again, matstema is a prime example of this.He willingly fights a losing battle in chaos but has no issue letting zelenin go about killing eldritch bitch.
I'd argue the most human Herald is Ramiel in Devil Survivor. From the start, his priority isn't so much to uphold God's law, but to prevent as much loss of life as possible, amd he damn near breaks every rule in the book on the way to the Law end. Even Amane notes he's toeing a dangerous line with how much he is willing to allow to reach a satisfying conclusion, and he goes out of his way to help Amane save as many people as possible, regardless whether they deserve it or not. The only reason God even decided to delay microwaving Tokyo is because Ramiel successfully begged him to let him TRY to save people. And to his credit, God did listen to him. In other games, he tends to listen to his more militant Heralds, and it ends badly.
Honestly, I love how the endings still keep the notion of the flaws of that ending. They do turn the original ones into bad endings, but really the original Law and Chaos endings were downers, while Neutral was always a maybe that as this game showed was just as doomed as the neutral ensing of the first SMT as the bad guys won later because people failed to learn from history and all the bad guys have to do is win ONCE, it also makes Arthur and Gore's sacrifice at the end of normal Neutral senseless since mankind had little to no idea on how to defeat the threat much less understand it (only enough to create an upgrade of the Demonica suit & weaponry, a portable version of Arthur and the functions to use forma in George, Time Travel and luck may have it a half demon willing to see the mission to the end) because the two who had ANY understanding are dead/destroyed and everyone else was likely sworn into secrecy or WORSE the Joint Project Board really were assholes and had them all killed to try and cover as much as they can up (they did try to nuke the Black Hole Dome of death from the outside rather then WAIT for your group to get out first, and everything about Jack and The Lightning crew makes it obvious a good many of the members in the project are opportunistic pieces of shit as Jack's immediate response was to intimidate you and your group before opening ANY channel of communication (hell only because as much as they can copy and make more REFINED versions of what you have through the leaks, tye Demon Summoning Program was not one of them seeing how it was the "Wise" Men who gave you and your crew the program and it wasn't made by human hands and even then they couldn't properly use it), they only really lost because while they did have better equipment, by that point you gone through a good many tyrants that it was the equilivent of Rambo with a Nerf Gun vs Chump's with Rocket Launchers that think HITTING an infantry target directly is "smarter" then hitting near them and letting the blast do the work for them, scratch that, that's describing the fight with Jack, his men were more of chumps with One shot then reload Sniper Rifles & Shit Accuracy. But back to my point normal Neutral becomes a Shaggy Dog story (and shows Gore's future sight wasnt absolute) thats "Hope for the future" but ended up being meaningless.
In my opinion, they kind of ruined the Neutral ending It was better to make it so the final egg worked as the final key to make something diferent Use the F+ckin' Swatzvelt, like, it was easy to see Arthur sets the machine to THROW THE NUKE to the Vanishing point, the bomb woould activate the eggs so the will of the last person who touched them becomes reality, and then boom, eggs used, maybe with Tadano on the ship and without damage So, why to use the vanishing point if its going to destroy? Welp, it doesnt, it uses the _Power of creation_ and everyone uses it to create a world, no one says it cant change the world Maybe using it to clean the entire planet and Fix everything was a better idea, maybe even killing the Swatzvelt The original gave you the sense of hope that humankind had the chances of cleaning in time, and its posible, but the New Neutral says that it was useless and not even on 150 years between Swatzvelts were enough, witch is stupid, like, after playing the original I loved the Original Neutral ending, and now it got ruined
I like seeing a Law candidate actually be reasonable. Zelenin heard Alex’s pleas and decided there was a better, safer way to create her ideal world: by using her own power. This is probably my favorite law ending which helps because I like Zelenin way more than Jiminez. This is the best law ending in the series because it isn’t obsessed with the same goals as other law heroes with God and Angels. She just wants peace. We need more female heroes.
I mean, wanting peace is the same goals as other law heroes. The buzzword peace is used in most of the games, and in iva they literally depict it with a peace sign. She just chose to do it in a way that didn't purge anyone.
While I agree this is a great ending compared to "BRAINWASH THEM ALL", I don't honestly like her. She just... she clearly was never thinking straight from the moment we found her in Bootes. She clearly was drunk on some religious obsession to the point she never saw the common sense before her: if Power (the Demon/Angel) was given to her, and existed in her Demonica, then Power was a Demon - that's the DEMON SUMMONING PROGRAM, not the ANGEL SUMMONING PROGRAM. And we KNOW there were hostile angels/gods in the Schwarzvelt, she HAD to have seen them. How could this woman honestly think the Angels/Heavens were good guys when you view things subjectively with the above info. She's the gods damned scientist of the bunch, being logical's SUPPOSED to be her thing! Her Characterization excluding the new route is an utter mess, and the new route only helps bring her more to where she SHOULD have been to start.
Katoma Mundara tbf,you have to understand that she's russian and from russia.During the time the game took place in,russia was having severe economic issues and massive instability. It was generally a hellhole that can be compared with a sector. So its not surprising that she took comfort in the order that mastema promised. She merely wanted order to help her heart but it wound uo corrupting her.Its more tragic than the game lets on.
Number13teen amane from devil survivor was by far the most reasonable law hero, she even joins you in the neutral paths. it helps that the law alignment was much more civil than it usually is in devil survivor.
I love how in her final speech she mention the demons and the Schwarzwelt are no more, but that even more importantly, she flipped God. This ending is indeed a big "FUCK YHVH".
I don't know if this is on purpose or not but human world in this new law ending is EXACTLY the same as the Animal Planet in "Nobita and the Animal Planet". I read that as a child so I don't remember every details but there was a weird statue in the manga, too. When the Animal Planet get attacked, the people there needed to ask the statue to be allowed to fight back, which the statue, of course, agreed.
To me, Amane from Devil Survivor (Overclocked) is my fav Law Hero since she even joins you on the Good Chaos Route because at that point after choosing the Route, helping the MC is the only way to save Humanity from destruction or a life of mindless servitude. Basically she is "Humanity over Law". And I can respect that even though from a philosophical point of view Law is my least favorite Ideology in the SMT Series.
Not only do I consider this better than other SMT Law endings, I consider it better than a lot of Neutral endings. Neutral, when you get right down to it, is essentially just maintaining the status quo above all else. And while that's certainly the better choice than falling into the monastic extremes presented in other Law/Chaos routes, it's still not a permanent solution, and conflict is still an inevitability. Here, New Law is indeed not as extreme as Law, but it's also something that's absent from Neutral routes- real, proactive change towards a better future. Same with New Chaos, too- both these routes either mitigate the chances of conflict arising, or give the common person the means to fight back against said conflicts. I really hope we get more routes like this in the future.
I like how even when these endings fix a lot of the issues of their vanilla Strange Journey versions, they still retain the fundamental flaws of each alignment and leave you with a bittersweet feeling.
To be fair with Dazai. Dude is just basically this dude who wanted to be something, he see that chance and he take it, for the sake of it. While Zelenin was a technically can be called as a Victim of circumstances and she just wanted world peace, and Mastema were just there at the right time to comfort her with the promises of Law. So yeah. One is just a Useless dude who wanted to felt good and basically said "Hey I'm something you know?" And one is just this Broken Human trying to better the world because of the circumstances of her past. Kinda obvious, but on a serious note, still disappointed at SMTV Story, it exactly how i felt from playing Devil Survivor 1 to Devil Survivor 2. How do we ended up here?
The coof happened.. I know it’s a broken record and people generally got sick of it But you can see the impact and Atlus sadly chose to compromise the story. Didn’t the director said years ago he wanted to tackle wars, unemployment and nuclear crisis? That’s pretty much our confirmation
I still think it's wrong. A world without any form of conflict will inevitably lead to stagnation. In truth, this ending is no different than the neutral ending, with just as much uncertainty with how likely humanity will survive once, and inevitably, god and his/her/its/their forces comes for a second visit and wrecks house. In fact, one can argue that we might even further regress in our potential to stand our ground when all life has experienced til his/her/its/their second coming no form of defensive tactics.
I'd argue, the best ending that guarantees the best platform to create a possible scenario to fend off god is through the new Chaos Ending. True, hell may come over and swathe the planet, but so can super earth, or also back to shitty earth. Point is, we'd be more likely to be well equipped to fend off god's second coming than in the other endings, included New Neutral since essentially man-kind is left to be the same shitty people that they once were since before the Schwartzwelt and don't have to actually be punished for it. They can do whatever they want as an immortal that has to be constantly checked for his sanity working for us to save us from multiple return visits from the Schwartzwelt itself, as well as maybe even god.
Eckskalibur Honestly the thing is that the God (YHVH) it's not God, he just a image born by the power of observation, Kaneko even said in one interview that YHVH is not evil. YHVH even in his most corrupted form want the best for Mankind, the problem is how much Human's influence demons, that's the reason of why God was that way, in the new Law future is heavily implie that YHVH can go back to being good, humanity can also advance but again the problem is not really God is Mankind, if even in a world of peace, Mankind desire for conflict and Chaos, never leaning anything nothing good will come. I still think however that the Law ending is the best ending but this is my personal opinion
"YHVH even in his most corrupted form want the best for Mankind", was that the SMT4 Apocalypse version or the SMT4 alternate timeline version where he made a killing machine named Pluto to kill off the "unworthy" humans? Personally with the many depictions of YHVH throughout the SMT series I think that this guy is not a benevolent being. He is essentially a big bully in a sea of selfish deities and humans that power both of'em that tries to take in all the power source as he can and gives nothing else to the rest of the demons. Hell, since strange Journey is a mainline SMT game, that means we can say, in a sense that the most powerful/holy/incomprehensible/enigmatic being isn't even YHVH. That title belongs to the Axiom and it straight up sends YHVH-killers or worthy YHVH-killers throughout multiple mainline timelines. If that doesn't show how potentially evil or just outright wrong YHVH is, there's more I could list out but I'm legit tired and should probably sleep.
Centurionzo 12 That's incorrect according to most games besides Apocalypse. Most games outright confirm that YHVH created humanity and the universe. Some even stating the multiverse itself. Apocalypse just created a bunch of contradicting nonsense.
This is Zelenin's redemption, I hated her so much but I liked her in this. This is a great ending, showing perfection and imperfection beautifully shown with the writing, the music and the graphics. Beautiful work.
I think Strange Journey’s True endings regardless of what is chosen are all great endings. They see the faults of pure law and chaos. I would like to say they’re some of the most neutral routes in the game.
Essentially use both alignment systems not just Law/Neutral/Chaos most of the time but Light/Neutral/Dark too which adds much needed nuance outside Law being brainwashing, Chaos being a edge-fest and neutral being the "best" or the least bad ending.
I fucking most of the of Law endings in SMT, since god/his envoys just ALWAYS have to be mechanically inclined to go for the most efficient route of clearing out the dust with ill regard for what's humane: genocide, massacre, or selective persecution (I mean, it makes sense, god ain't human, he might know how a human would feel, but not exaclty what it FEELS to be human, you get me?) But even I liked this order of humane law through the removal for potential conflict in human hearts. It's HIGHLY idealistic, and yet, that's what makes it so inspirational. None of this absolute law garbage rhetoric, just straight-up envisioned paradise of peace through human cooperation.
What happens to the Red Sprite's crew? Assumedly they escape the Shwartzelt and return to earth but Zelenin converted them. They'd likely attempt to massacre the inhabitants of New Law's world like Zelenin and they'd be unable to fight back because they were cleansed of the will to harm another. As far as we know, the song is a one way ticket so they couldn't be unconverted unless an outside source outright killed them. I feel like this is a pretty massive oversight.
From what I understand: those who stayed by your side made it out alive regardless of your alignment. However, those who YEETed out during the split up are completely screwed because they didn’t have the demonica on.
Lucifer Con The two aliens from The Simpsons. The ones that perpetually drool. They mostly appear in Halloween Specials. You seriously never heard of them?
Actually, its really dumb that this ending brings up some entity (it would have to be aliens or something) coming to rule the law world by force since we've already seen that people under the influence of the song can fight, they just don't want to. But Zelenin and Doomguy obviously had some form of free will as well as the ability to fight even though they were both under the influence of the song when they stood up to Mastema and the three wise men. So if aliens or something did invade, the song would influence people to seek dialogue as the first option, but if it didn't work they would fight. And probably win, too, since Zelenin and presumably the angels who watch over the new world have got to be pretty damn strong.
I know it's meant to be a happy ending but I can't help but feel incredibly sad seeing Zelenin's statue and listening to the choir in the background 34:17
pretty sure SJ’s universe is managed by YHVH or Mem Aleph unlike DeSu2 where it is governed by Polaris (or whichever star takes its place in the throne)
Didn't Polaris say in Ronaldo's route that the world where humans cooperate is the one she envisioned it to be like? This ending is basically that, too.
I can see how these new endings undermine the story to make it happier. Zelenin's power is entirely dependent on God, so she should not be able to rebel against God without losing her power. Also, how did she edit her song to apply to everyone? How did she change the effect to pacify people, rather than make them awestruck by God? It's not like Law and Chaos have had consistent underlying ideologies throughout the series, but this change makes it hard to understand what is going on.
Zelenin's power originates from God, but it's not dependent on him, I think The song is just a way to change people's minds, so it can be tweaked, it's just that before this ending, Zelenin was completely devoted to the Lord and would not stray from his path, which entailed a mass brainwashing
Hard to believe a lot of my views concerning humanity used to mirror Old Ending Zelenin. Don't get me wrong humans will always be bound by their nature and those in power will always be drunk with it but we aren't completely irredeemable. Unfortunately I'd rather see it burn these days, let mankind destroy themselves. Maybe then, one day the world will know peace. SMT plot lines tend to show the extremes of each alignment.
Very strange thing to there at the beginning - you needed to say no to the question and make Zelenin realize her mistake - that would lead to the same ending but would make much more sense
I get that this ending is good and all, but I just cannot get over the fact that when Zelenin goes into her Pillar form at the end here, I didn't know that she would also go sugoi dekaiju like god damn. What I'm trying to say here, is that's a huge bitch.
"God" in Strange Journey had been split into fragments imprisoned in the Schwarzwelt (see the Demiurge side-quest in new game+), with the fragments carrying his mind taking the guise of a human in the investigation team. You can help partially restore him into the Demiurge (and he straights up join your party if you're law aligned) or seal him completely. So every law faction character who claims to be acting in God's stead in Strange Journey is pretty much lying and doing things on their own.
The only paid DLC available for redux are 4 apps for macca exp and such, plus few free items. There’s no “DLC story” there…. There are locked dungeons and secret bosses and new demons but you can only access to them in New Game plus which is LAAAAAAME.
Because humanity took another gift from God like the fruit of Eden and use it grow their own garden of Eden, one without conflict and strife to destroy it. Zelenin like Jimenez rejected their patron to make the new world a place where humanity can thrive.
@@fakebunny1272 she saw a bit of Lucifer's desire to rebel in Zelenin. Staging her own revolt against god with the help other others. Except this time God wasn't gonna play nice with the traitors and just cast them down to hell
It's still Law due to the emphasis on cooperation and peace, as well as the globalist undertones. However, it is still very much less extreme than most other Law endings.
No, because the Neutral Endings are all about preserving Humanity as it is, flawed but free. Even if this ending is much more benign, it still involves forcefully changing the nature of Humanity. Brainwashing People into being less violent.
Mate, you can't possibly mean that. Oppression is just as good as life and freedom for all without conflict? Albeit at the cost of strength to protect themselves from future problems, it still sounds way better than the original Law ending
@@MONKAW123 all people united, save for those who reject God, at peace and safe due to the powerful angels around them? Besides the free will isnt gone its just the only people left arre the ones who wouldnt choose to resist God
Very disappointing. They go with the cliche "power of humanity" route when both law and chaos have always opposed this logic. I feel like this is just a variant neutral ending. It also isn't as happy as it first may seem, because humanity is royally screwed now when anyone invades.
Not really, remember, the demons came from the power of observation, and so the Messiah, if it happen another invansion, another Messiah will appear with the same power or more than the MC. Also it's heavily implied that YHVH could get better in this new future, YHVH as revealed by Kaneko was not evil but corrupted, now that a new future is being build YHVH could get better
Centurionzo 12 That is apocalypse lore, and apocalypse contradicted much of the series lore. I wouldnt hold much weight to it, Besides, a "new messiah" may just as easily side with law or chaos. Or die
PrayingSeraph Yeah but sadly is the one that Atlus is sticking. Also the Great Will originally was supposed to be the one making the cicle of dead and resurrection in Nocturne but a lot of material and future games retconed this and made him neutral, also his the true "YHVH" now
Well Redux doesnt seem to be following Apoc lore. Demons/deities existed before humanity and Great Will is YHVH. I havnt seen an Axiom mention yet, nor some axiom anti law effort to create messiahs against YHVH/Great Will
PrayingSeraph Actually the Axion don't create Messiahs by choose, he just do it because people wanted Messiahs (at least that the explanation of Apocalypse) also Great Will is YHVH that wasn't changed since Nocturne but YHVH is a corrupted form of the Great Will, it's easy to make a mistake but the Great Will always been and will always been YHVH but YHVH is not the Great Will
So, Atlus now advocates to make all good endings Neutral disguised as other alignments? I miss when the endings would make you think... Now they made their anti-law stance cannonical by even making Law screw Law, SCREW this new tendency.
There is no neutrality here, humanity has discarded a part of what made them human to achieve everlasting peace among them, at the cost of becoming vulnerable to other alien invaders if they ever reached Earth (not demons though, since they were directly bound to human instinct for conflict). I do get it if you mean New Chaos, is actually very reminiscent of Atsuro's in Devil Survivor. Demons become an extension of humankind, more power, more possibility to achieve great things, and to cause bigger calamities.
None of these endings are "good", as in happy, if you don't take them at face value. Literally the only happy ending in mainline is the friendship one in Apocalypse so I dunno what you're talking about Neither the new law or chaos are neutral since neutral routes are about maintaining the status quo. New law and chaos are about how humanity itself follows the ideals of order or anarchy, instead of being lead down that path by a higher being
They are led by a higher being though. Zelenin is no longer human, even if she retains a somewhat human personality, and solved this via her angel's song. Which is a far cry to pass off as human.
Its more like other alignments disguised as neutral. Ideologically, these law and chaos are basically most of the way towards original law and chaos. Jiminez' ending even says that its still a world filled with danger where people can choose to take by force and destroy. And you still get to it by destroying human society, which certainly came with a ton of death. But for some reason, for zelenin especially they decide to ramp up the human terminology, which in conjunction with downplaying the law terminology and how having no demonic representative except... lucifer being for all the new ones? Makes it feel a little bipolar.
It's a law ending,an extreme that never should be taken. It's like chaos except replace death with eternally serving the "Lord" in most law endings. This one at least you can think for yourself and that jazz she just took out the urge to fight. Which is a bad idea in it's own right. But that's smt for you,no perfect ending here.

This, friends, this is the embodiment of everything good that the Law alignment represents.
This is what people fight for when they fight for peace.

Agree.
A better option than brainwashing humanity
I don't know. It seems too much like DeSu 2's lawful end for my tastes, even down to the idea that removing humanity's aggression may hurt their ability to respond to future threats
DeSu 2's feels like communism, that's why I hate it.
buntado6 eh,id argue for 4's law.Mikado is safe, the angels arent killing/maiming people, and everyone seemed generally happy.Hell, merkabah was so devoted to keeping mikado safe that he sacrificed both you and him so nobody had to suffer.
Still best law ending in the series
Wow.
...that was... Really good. It actually made me tear a little bit. This is one Law ending I can absolutely say I like. Like other comments said before me, it's not even about God or angels anymore. It's about the happiness of humanity. One that, in this day and age, may be impossible to attain.
Its a shitty ending. Its not law by any means. You basically create a world Lucifer wanted.

I love how Alex and George try to reason with Zelenin. It's obvious from her speeches that she is either totally dedicated to her path, or completed enthralled by Mastama.
...is how she was originally portrayed. It seems that Atlus is toning down their dire ending routine.

@@Antiyoukai that's how he always has been though, he is a sneaky little goblin.
Problem: The eggs only affected Zelenin to make her into the pilar
Tandano were still normal because he had his will of fight but were pacified already
Now, the problem is that he is still mortal, like, the only ending where he becomes a God is New Neutral
"I will keep it with me always, Alex."
She kept it for like, 30 minutes
For me she kept it for 4 hours because fug that final boss.
To be fair, that's about as long as she existed after Alex gave her the ring.
In my opinion, they kind of ruined the Neutral ending
It was better to make it so the final egg worked as the final key to make something diferent
Use the F+ckin' Swatzvelt, like, it was easy to see
Arthur sets the machine to THROW THE NUKE to the Vanishing point, the bomb woould activate the eggs so the will of the last person who touched them becomes reality, and then boom, eggs used, maybe with Tadano on the ship and without damage
So, why to use the vanishing point if its going to destroy?
Welp, it doesnt, it uses the _Power of creation_ and everyone uses it to create a world, no one says it cant change the world
Maybe using it to clean the entire planet and Fix everything was a better idea, maybe even killing the Swatzvelt
The original gave you the sense of hope that humankind had the chances of cleaning in time, and its posible, but the New Neutral says that it was useless and not even on 150 years between Swatzvelts were enough, witch is stupid, like, after playing the original I loved the Original Neutral ending, and now it got ruined
I find it ironic that Jeanne of all people rebelled against God.
That reference was on point 👌
More like it makes sense that jeanne would rebel since she saw what happened the last time she followed god word for word.
Isn't that a reference to the fact that Jeanne from Fate/Apocrypha and Zelenin are voiced by the same woman
@@breadator3880 Exactly
I like seeing a Law candidate actually be reasonable. Zelenin heard Alex’s pleas and decided there was a better, safer way to create her ideal world: by using her own power. This is probably my favorite law ending which helps because I like Zelenin way more than Jiminez. This is the best law ending in the series because it isn’t obsessed with the same goals as other law heroes with God and Angels. She just wants peace. We need more female heroes.
Even if it hinges on the player acting as their conscience. It shows that she wasn't completely beyond reason.
You play by YHVH's game, only only to say "Go fuck yourself, I'll forge my path"
Curious about that story
Just got this ending…
“Are you crying??”
“No… piss off”
Zelenin is the only best Law hero in Shin Megami Tensei franchise, especially she gained character development.
Yeah but Jonathan clearly win in the hair departement.
An actual Good Law ending without genocide but humanity will be destroyed by outside forces
I like how even when these endings fix a lot of the issues of their vanilla Strange Journey versions, they still retain the fundamental flaws of each alignment and leave you with a bittersweet feeling.
How did we go from this to Dazai
To be fair with Dazai.
Dude is just basically this dude who wanted to be something, he see that chance and he take it, for the sake of it.
While Zelenin was a technically can be called as a Victim of circumstances and she just wanted world peace, and Mastema were just there at the right time to comfort her with the promises of Law.
So yeah.
One is just a Useless dude who wanted to felt good and basically said "Hey I'm something you know?"
And one is just this Broken Human trying to better the world because of the circumstances of her past.
Kinda obvious, but on a serious note, still disappointed at SMTV Story, it exactly how i felt from playing Devil Survivor 1 to Devil Survivor 2.
How do we ended up here?
The coof happened.. I know it’s a broken record and people generally got sick of it
But you can see the impact and Atlus sadly chose to compromise the story.
Didn’t the director said years ago he wanted to tackle wars, unemployment and nuclear crisis? That’s pretty much our confirmation
Mastema saltiest angel?
A Law ending that I actually LIKE? The fuck?
Hmm this is a interesting Law ending. It's not the best but least it's not as sad as the pure Law ending.
Centurionzo 12
That's incorrect according to most games besides Apocalypse. Most games outright confirm that YHVH created humanity and the universe. Some even stating the multiverse itself. Apocalypse just created a bunch of contradicting nonsense.

I think Strange Journey’s True endings regardless of what is chosen are all great endings. They see the faults of pure law and chaos. I would like to say they’re some of the most neutral routes in the game.
We need more Megaten games where you can tell your alignment team member to reel it in.
Essentially use both alignment systems not just Law/Neutral/Chaos most of the time but Light/Neutral/Dark too which adds much needed nuance outside Law being brainwashing, Chaos being a edge-fest and neutral being the "best" or the least bad ending.
I fucking most of the of Law endings in SMT, since god/his envoys just ALWAYS have to be mechanically inclined to go for the most efficient route of clearing out the dust with ill regard for what's humane: genocide, massacre, or selective persecution (I mean, it makes sense, god ain't human, he might know how a human would feel, but not exaclty what it FEELS to be human, you get me?)
But even I liked this order of humane law through the removal for potential conflict in human hearts.

Lol this is neutral-law but still better than law
From what I understand: those who stayed by your side made it out alive regardless of your alignment. However, those who YEETed out during the split up are completely screwed because they didn’t have the demonica on.

You seriously never heard of them?
I didn't watched the Simpsons growing up. I didn't understand most off the things at the time so I just ignored it.

It's not like Law and Chaos have had consistent underlying ideologies throughout the series, but this change makes it hard to understand what is going on.
in neutral route she does mention adding in a new verse to warn against pride, so uhhh the how was never clear
She never got her power straight from God
@@music79075 Plus consider that in the SJverse YHVH is fragmented into multiple beings.
Zelenin's power originates from God, but it's not dependent on him, I think

Aun asi la humanidad aun mantiene parte de su Libertad
Y tal vez busquen la forma de resolver el problema
Pero sera de una Manera no violenta?

so what about when God's army descends and enslaves humanity...? what will they do then
"God" in Strange Journey had been split into fragments imprisoned in the Schwarzwelt (see the Demiurge side-quest in new game+), with the fragments carrying his mind taking the guise of a human in the investigation team. You can help partially restore him into the Demiurge (and he straights up join your party if you're law aligned) or seal him completely. So every law faction character who claims to be acting in God's stead in Strange Journey is pretty much lying and doing things on their own.
So par for the course given the track record of law reps like the archangels.

Centurionzo 12
That is apocalypse lore, and apocalypse contradicted much of the series lore. I wouldnt hold much weight to it,
Besides, a "new messiah" may just as easily side with law or chaos.
Literally the only happy ending in mainline is the friendship one in Apocalypse so I dunno what you're talking about
Neither the new law or chaos are neutral since neutral routes are about maintaining the status quo.
Makes it feel a little bipolar.
how did the previous "brainwash everyone" vs "eternal blood orgy" endings make you think exactly
Law = canon.
Nope
not a single ending in SJ is canon
A world lulled by a brainwashing song.
This is not a good ending at all.
I take that over mindless worship anyday to be honest.
I don't get why people like this ending for
Genwunners
They just want the same extremist Law/Chaos ending, which already became a boring clichê at this point
Genwunners
They just want the same, already clichê and overused "opposite extremes" endings about Chaos/Law from the old games
@@sylvierose2799 again, it's because I don't like the fake freedom of law. I love the other two new endings
@@sylvierose2799 I didn't like old law any better
Because they are lazy and don't want to genuinely fight for a better world.
