According to all known laws of aviation Ren should not be able to fly. Ren of course flies anyways, because Ren doesn't care what people think is impossible.
RavenFal It kinda has, have you seen the way Nora's grenade launcher suddenly functions as heat seeking missiles or how characters can seemingly jump 20 meters in the air with no additional leverage compared to previous seasons?
I disagree on the whole "Weiss didn't grow" thing. Yeah, she ran, but the circumstance was very different. Up until now Weiss has always tried to either placate or ignore her father. Now? She's putting her foot down. She's through playing his game. She has absolutely nothing she can do to fight him right now, so she leaves. She's not off to combat boarding school now, she's taking fate into her own hands for real.
Because she can't simply run into her father's buro and smack him. That would be childish, unprofessional and absolutely useless. It would've only shown her father, that she's the little girl, he thinks she is. By running away, it showed him, that she's not dependent of him and he can't influence her anymore. She's not his toy. She can fight and live for herself without his "leading" hand. Also she said that she wants to live up to her family name by being a huntress and not by being a business woman which is, what her father wanted her to be. By running away, she got herself the freedom to be a huntress and to develop in her charakter to a point where she could stand up to her father and beat him with wods and actions not with violence. Fighting her father directly would not fit her charakter and would be absolutely non-heroic. Afterall she's one of the heroines of an Anime. She can't simply behead someone physicaly harmless. Since Whitley has no powers it gives a hint, that Jaque himself has no or only little powers fit for fighting.
April Jaxon even though the artwork has improved significantly, i feel like this show is not living up to monty's name in the fight scenes. Monty was known for working sooo hard on this show he would barely sleep. Based on what ive seen since hes been gone, i feel like they havent even put in half as much effort and thought as he did. The characters used to have unique fighting styles and their own ways of gracefully launching themselves into the air. Now they just defy gravity for no reason and jump really far. (The Blake and sun vs. Sea monster grimm fight scene is a great example.) This show was built on its amazing choreography and fight scenes. Now it just feels like a waste of potential. I dont care how long it takes for good quality episodes to come out, I just hope that one of the last few things we have to remember Monty by gets done the Monty way with his flare. They should have all his files and should know how to do it since RT worked with him.
Volume 4 Pros and Cons: Pros: Greatly improved animation, Best Voice Acting yet, many new great characters, multiple story arcs. Cons: Slowest pacing in the series yet, attempted too many story arcs all at once, anticlimactic ending. Overall I give RWBY Volume 4 an 8.5/10, It's better than Volume 1 but weaker than Volume 2 and 3.
It's not filler. It is setting up the next arc, just like volume 1. Couple that with the loss of Monty and moving to a new engine, it more than explains the shortcomings.
I liked it. A lot of people say this is a filler volume and that when volume 5 comes out you can skip it, but there are key factors in it that can effect volume five Along with team RWBY heading to Mistral, Oscar is gonna be there to with Ozpins in his head to train to be a warrior, Salem thinks Qrow and Ozpin are gone, Yang learning not to always rely on her semblance to much, Sun talking sense into Blake and hopefully getting her to stop running away We also learned about Qrow semblance, a lot more about Ren backstory (Ren really didn't have much of a backstory other he and Nora are orphans) Sure the fight scenes aren't as impressive as back then, but let's give it time, hopefully it will get better.
I personally enjoy Volume 4, it's different, but it's necessary, The world of Remnant always had a great potential, but during Volume 1-3, they never really tried to grip onto that potential. They always stick with fightings and characters and etc. While I do enjoy the fight scenes, I always feel as if this series could be something greater. I think Volume 4 is the first step into achieving that goal. Yang starts to learn that it takes much more to win than just being angry. Blake learns that she can't push away her friends any longer. Weiss learns that she will never belong in her mansion any longer. Ruby learns that she can't always save everyone. It's necessary for them to grow as a character, not just in terms of personality. But in terms of their fighting styles and how it'll affect the story. Now, they're not at Beacon anymore, they're not attending class and having fun like they used to. Volume 4 was the Volume that made Team RWBY realised that this is not just about Beacon anymore. Things are going to be different, but I think it's going to be different in a good way. That's why I don't dislike this Volume. And that's why I can't wait for the next one!
You've hit the nail on the head for a lot of my thoughts on this volume that I haven't figured out how to form into words. There were parts of Volume 4 that I absolutely _loved_, so so _so_ much, and there were parts that really fell flat, more than any part of the series before. In the end, "different" is a really good way to describe it overall, more than "good" or "bad".
The episode count is fine. The episodes lengths were fine. It's just what they did with them. Progression was too slow, and the pacing was just so... awkward.
I personally favored this season of the others in most cases. Volumes 1-3 felt like an introduction to a grander Arc. They were to help us warm to these characters, the style, the music, everything. Without Volumes 1&2 I wouldn't feel the weight of Volume 3. As for Volume 3 it gave a grander purpose for Volume 4 and its characters. Each story was done the way it should. The light comedy felt earned and real for this more serious tone. Ren AND Nora's story built a genuine relationship that really got us in the head of characters that had more to him than what was shown. I personally find the animation a step up mostly for the same reason you said. It's beautiful, it's rich, it makes the whole show have a new feel to it that meets the new tone of the entire show. Oscar and the other new characters are fascinating and more interesting in their first outing than most of the RWBY cast in Volume 1. That is only my opinion and I can see how Volume 4 feels different than the others. While I find that a step in the right direction, I understand if it's TOO different for your liking
The way that I heard burnie and such describe Monty's animation style way more of a dance than a fight. This gave the fights a personal and intimate feeling that made them so unique and great. Volume 4 lost this. The fights seemed impersonal and just there. The characters fighting styles completely disappeared from how they fought in S1-3. The floaty low gravity and goofy cartoon attacks don't leave as much of an impression as the old ones did. In S1-3, each blow felt coordinated, thought out, and executed with a plan and flow. In S4, they seemed to just pop in and out of fights, throwing themselves and their weapons around randomly hacking and slashing. The cartoony aspect of these fights just made them so disconnected from the intimate fights that RWBY is known and loved for. It's basically one of the shows biggest draws, and S4 just doesn't deliver in the same way. That's my thoughts, hopefully, they go back to thinking of their fights like a dance because of that made RWBY different and something that was actually worth watching (with the exception of S3, the story has just been pretty meh and ok, the fights are what make it great).
I'm just surprised that so many fans were surprised by the sheer difference of Volume 4. The third volume's final episodes was the diegetic equivalent of throwing a glass sculpture on the floor and so it would be the job of Volume 4 to pick those pieces up and put them into something similar but new - fill the time gap, expand the world's geography, history and cultures, develop the main antagonist without disconnecting from the "pawns" we'd become so familiar with. Volume 4 is different but I would argue that it was good in it's difference because it achieved everything we needed it to do. However I would expect volume 5 to start returning us to the previous volumes' structures as characters' stories start to realign
The fight scenes always had one person doing one thing at one time, with few exceptions. If they weren't onscreen, they were doing nothing and that hindered the flow. That, and too much talking still. And the gravity. And they fact that basically everyone bar Qrow did moves that were completely useless and just put in there to be "flashy"
logmouth The change in physics (floatiness) bothers me to no end too. Also the aesthetic for Volume 3 was certainly my favorite but that may also be linked to the fact that out of the fighting scenes made so far, most of the ones I liked were from it.
The fights weren't the focus, they were secondary to the Plot, unlike the other Volumes where every fight was important, only Tyrion Vs Qrow and RNJR Vs Nuckaleevee(?) had any importance. With out a focus on fighting it is hard for the animator's to get the feel for the fighting right, without any of the leads like Monty or Shane it is hard for them to really get it so early. I predict that when fights will be more important throughout the Volume that is when the fights will get a lot of improvement.
logmouth How? The choreographs of the fights were better and made much since. Volume 1 fights and Volume 2 were great but really? Seeimg not even students do stunts like that amd were able to take down a Nevermore and Scorpian Grimm without taking a sweat? Come on, buy in Volume 4 all the hits were impactfull and everything was on the line, if someone messed up it was game over look at Qrow vs Tyrian. Ruby was being careless the entire fight and not listening to Qrow and it almost got him killed because of it. And Tyrian vs RNJR was a very good fight since I felt every hit and it was meaninfull in the earlier Volumes I had none of that and all it look was cool and not impactfull. Personally the Volume 4 fights are.far superior, and how many times I was worried during the final fight that someone was going to die and I had none of that emotion in the earlier Volumes besides three. But I admit the swining arms on thr Nuckelavee was really stupid.
I don't like the fight scenes either. I feel like since the focus wasn't on the action, they just said to hell with it and went with whatever was simplest so they didn't have to get creative and really think it through. I've made similar comments on the Roosterteeth forums before, and two rewatches later, I still feel the same way. Hopefully future volumes are better. Now it seems like they watched some fantasy/action anime, thought to themselves "we're not sure what to do with this fight, but what they're doing looks good" and did what everyone else does. Not a copy, exactly, but like they just went with the fighting style in other shows. Which is too bad because the previous fights were great. I still love RWBY and Roosterteeth, but I hope they go back to their origins a bit for the fighting. The old fighting style would look spectacular with the new animation.
I consider the current action scenes too "anime" like. despite the show having a "anime" style the action scenes made it stand out, as not many anime follow gravity and momentum as closely as RWBY did. And as someone who grew up watching anime I don't mind the new action scenes, but at the same time it doesn't... fit. Kind of like how live action tries to replicate stuff from animation, it just looks kind of awkward.
the only thing that drove me off from this series was how anti climatic volume 4 was. you had people fights where ruby ain't use her semblance. the same fight where juane wasn't the stratigiest. the grim that's been killing people for years just be a plot device to kill for ren's revenge. sun gets tired after using his semblance once and getting hurt to try to get you in the "feels". tyrian scratching qrow with his tail and leaving it there so ruby could shoot it off. the fact that tyrian was hunting a Maiden but can't handle a fight with Qrow. CINDER going from diffentlu evil to idk what the heck going on with her. the failed attempt at being somewhat dark in this season. it was all brain tingling.
I thought Volume 4 was great, it was well paced, very ballsy, beautifully animated, and character driven(and I think the team RNJR parts focused on the characters well enough). Yes the ending was anti climactic, but I think it's for the best, we can't just have everything resolved in 1 season, and Volume 5 might have some opportunity to develop the characters more. On the whole Volume 4 was the best in the series yet.
Yeah, totally! I love how Weiss bravely stood against her father, showing him how much she grew up! Blake's story was SO full of action and thrill... and Jaune's TOTALLY AWESOME weapon upgrade, didn't see that one coming. I'm so glad they showed Nora's backstory, not only Ren's and how he met Nora. And the maturity... OH! Don't even get me started on that! A villain said a curse word?! God, how do they came up with that?! RT, you guys are GENIUSES!!! Oh, and Ozpin's new model and Cinder's voice acting were great as well! And just in case you haven't noticed... I was being sarcastic.
Nice review. Personally, as a fan, I just think all the volumes are really awesome. So, I can't really say that I agree or disagree with your review. Still though, nice review.
Who else finds it annoying that "fans" whine about how the animation of the fighting is poor whenever it was obvious that it would happen with Monty being gone? What pisses me off the most are the fans who left the fandom after Monty died. Do they really think that Monty would want that? RT is putting a lot of effort into coNtinuing RWBY and these fans are just being disrespectful.
So...what? We're not allowed to state our opinions anymore? I do agree it's more than a little disrespectful to just ditch RWBY after Monty passed, but I'd argue it's even more disrespectful to use his death as a reason we can't critique one of the many, noticeable flaws of Volume 4.
Flaws is a strong word. It is not bad. Just different. Yeah, for some the fight scenes have lost this special flavor after Monty's passing. But I wouldn't say the fight scenes are bad. They still are fun to watch and you still know what is going on. For me the Qrow v Tyrion fight and the Nuklavee fight are one of my favourite fight scenes in the whole show. A lot better than some of the tournament fights.
Oh please, the Nuckelavee didn't do anything besides swing its arms and scream, it was very repetitive. I will concede the Qrow vs Tyrian fight was good though. But yes, every other fight scene is garbage and boring. The tournament fights were way better io.
Well that is your opinion. And I really feel like you are way too hard on the fights. Of course you can like the Volume 4 fights the least. But saying they were garbage? As EuruptionFang stated they were different than everything Monty and Shane have done. Maybe they are more generic. But garbage? Not for me. When your break down every Grimm fight ever they all didn't do much so critiziting this without acknowliging that all the Grimm fights are not diversified. The different kind of Grimm bring the varyity in the Grimm fights. Maybe your problem is that the Nucklavee was build up the whole Volume. Yeah, it didn't meet those expectations but I feel like this belongs to the story. The hyping up of this grimm happened when we saw Ren's reactions to it. He met this Grimm when he was a child were it destroyed a villige without any huntsmen in it. Now Ren is almost an adult and a huntsmen in training but obviously sill terrefied of this particular Grimm. Being able to defeat the Grimm after he snaped out of his rage and worked together with his friends showed him that he could defeat his biggest fear when working together. I'm not telling you to magically like the fight scenes. I can't change how you feel. But maybe accepting that the fights are going to be different will help you appriciate little prositive things about them.
Of course I'm being hard on the fights, they were a major downgrade! The uniqueness is what gave the RWBY fight scenes their charm! Of course they're garbage. If you like them, that's fine, more power to you, but I'm going to continue criticizing the flaws I see. And the Nuckelavee was built up to be this big epic monster, capable of destroying towns, and then four young teenagers with barely any training manage to beat it in like five minutes. Are you telling me out of the hundreds of villagers the Nuckelavee attacked, nobody thought "Hey, let's pin down its arms so it's less of a threat because spinning its arms is apparently its only attack for some reason." The Nuckelavee was built up to be different from the other Grimm, it was supposed to be terrifying, it had one of the coolest Grimm designs there but it turned out to just be another cannon fodder Grimm for the gang to slaughter. Talk about the emotions all you want but looking at it without that emotional connection and it's boring. And that's what makes a good fight scene, if a random person can watch it without having any knowledge of the characters and still have a good time. Imagine if Attack On Titan did what RWBY Volume 4 did and had the Survey Corps slaughter all the Titans, despite the buildup they gave as unstoppable bloodthirsty beasts.
WARNING: Essay incoming Maya's physic engine is... well, maya doesn't really _have_ a good working physics engine - It's not really intended for handling this kind of complex processing. Everything is a little weightless because of that, and many fights seemed to lack impact. Also, honestly, the change in style really wasn't all that fitting (animation wise), completely changing up the look 4 seasons in seems a little unprofessional?? That might just be me ahaha. I wasn't a huge fan of the pacing this season, as i felt that nothing really actually happened. Ren's backstory felt like a chunk of filler, and really lacked weight in both its writing and its overall relevance - even the following fight with the grimm felt like it was just there to wrap up an unnecessary and boring story arc. That's not to say it was _bad_ per se, I just personally didn't find it all that interesting. The other main pet peeve of mine about this season was the amount of focus on Jaune - i've never been all that fond of him in the first place, so there is some personal bias, but I felt that majority of the season focused way too much on him rather than the girls. I've seen charts where people have compared his amount of spoken lines/word count with every other character this season, and if not for Ruby's little speech at the end of the season, he would have surpassed in dialogue by far. I did, however, really enjoy the Tyrian vs Crow fight - it was pretty well choreographed and had a certain intensity which i found missing in the rest of the season. Most of the moments with Crow in them were pretty great, like his interactions with Raven. It was also nice to see Ironwood get some screen time. But all in all, coupled with the most anticlimactic ending to a season of _anything_ that i've seen in a long time, this season was a bit of a disappointment for me, especially considering that season 3 ended on such a high. I'm sure many of you enjoyed the season, and you have every right to like it. There were many parts that I didn't like due to personal preference, and obviously not everyone will feel the same as me. But yeah, these were my personal thoughts on the season :) Here's hoping next season will pick up, that this season was just an odd one out and that it's not a case of 'you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain'.
The fact that they broke up every established character dynamic save Blake and Sun and Ren and Nora really hurt this volume. No one else seemed to really connect to anyone and you really miss things like the sister dynamic of Ruby and Yang or the odd friendship of Weiss and Blake with nothing to replace it. The relationships were what let the characterization come through. And then there's Tyrian. Tyrian is one of those abominable Joker-wannabe hyenas with the weird Salem worship pasted over that thin dimestore villain tropes. It bothers me even more that he's a scorpion because scorpions are awesome and he is anti-awesome.
This volume is to RWBY as Chain of Memories is to Kingdom Hearts; a story that serves no purpose other than to bridge the gap between two other chapters of the grander story. There are more things introduced, but nothing really expanded upon, we still don't have clear motivations for most of our villains, and there are way more questions than answers. What are silver eyes, and what do they do? What's the purpose of the relics? Will any of these ideas be expanded upon in Volume 5? There are things to like about Volume 4, such as the world building of Menagerie, the improvements to the animation, and a backstory for Ren (even if it was a little generic). They just aren't enough to save the volume however. It has good moments, but as a story, it's clunky and unfocused as all hell.
Rwby Volume 4 is not byfar my favorite Volume. My favorite remains to be Volume 3 but that doesn't make Volume 4 bad. I liked the volume! Sure it had certain spaces that could've been filled, sure some stories could've been longer or shorter than others but it was nice. I look forward to seeing what is next for Volume 5 in the fall and patiently waiting for RvB Season 15 which starts tommorow!
Wiess running away shouldn't be a knock against her overall development, she had to develop the strength to leave. And unlike the first time she left she won't have daddy to support her at all, she taking on the world without that safety net.
Finally, a talk on action and choreography, I'm also so glad you mentioned the difference in the action for volume 3 because it seems like almost no one's talked about it
I really enjoyed Qrow vs Tyrian though. It felt like ecerything was done right. Strikes actually hurt, actual physics applied, and was very fast paced.
Sun was literally the best part of the Blake's arc for me. I love how he maintained a relatively positive attitude despite being with Mel cat. I love his personality, fighting style, and I love what a good friend he is. I know I would have just left Blake to mope or slapped her back, but Sun was able to help her realize her faults which led her to her current goal of reclaiming the WF. Blake was just an annoying bitch. She kept on making the stupidest decisions and just further complicated things. For some reason she doesn't know how much her friends love her even after all the adventures they had. Also she pushes her friends away and the way she treats Sun when she's upset is just cringeworthy and unacceptable. Ghira didn't do anything. He's just a good father. I know he's the former leader of the WF, but he still didn't do anything. He was just there. Kali is best mom obviously. I like her personality besides the fact that she's a female Sun. She's also a BlackSun shipper so points there. Also the milf implications were hilarious. But at the end of the day she didn't do anything that added to the plot.
Well it sounds like Blake was in the WF and didn't leave when Ghira did, so he lost at least 5 years to teach her about stuff well she got lost in the world of terrorism and Adam.
That's what I thought they were going for with Volume 3's finale and I was in full support of her leaving then, she seemed like she did make a sacrifice to keep her friends safe and not drag them into the war she was possibly about to wage against the White Fang. But then we find out that she pulled a Eric Cartman and just said "screw it I'm going home." How did leaving to go home keep her friends from ANY sort of danger? Did she think her parents would go ape on humans? Get real, she chickened out, she revered to Pre-Volume 1 Blake and now has this HUGE victim complex over Beacon despite her friends going through the same, if not more traumatic experiences. I have no problem with her holding guilt for Yang getting hurt, that would be a good character element. But she acts like she got the absolute worst of all of it. Ruby literally watched one of her friends get incinerated right in front of her AND her other friend get sliced into pieces and she is still fighting. Blake just quit. Yang is even doing better than her and she's the one who actually lost the arm. Blake's regression pisses me off so much more because I really liked Blake in Volume 3, she had really broken out of her shell and had some adorable moments that really sold that she felt comfortable and welcome with her friends. Then Volume 4 roles around and all of her character traits reverted back to Volume 1 with the exception that she knows Sun, who she loves to abuse when she gets upset. It really made me dislike her and it really pisses me off.
Because she wanted Adam not being there. It doesn't have to make logical sense why Blake ran away. It makes sense to her. She has problems with running away but this is part of her character since the beginning. This is just the escalation of this character trait before she changes to the better.
I really can't stand the fight scenes, it's like they can fly! I enjoyed Monty and Shane's style which was very grounded and it felt like every strike had a real impact and every one had weight and a certain physicality, but now they can jump 50 feet with out even trying and then hover in midair like they're bouncing on the moon! It's just ridiculous
Great video. It's different is a very good way of putting it. I myself enjoyed Volume 4 and thought is was a very good follow up to everything that happened in Volume 3. I can't tell you a final verdict until new Volumes come out so I can see how it fits in the narritive overall. But nothing that was critizised in this Volume is something that I disliked. I noticed it but it didn't lessen my enjoyment.
what's important to me honestly is A. there is a decent story told that fits the world and B. that the characters stay well, in character and don't stray too far from who we know them to be i.e. Ruby is heroic and usually bubbly (when appropriate Weiss is a bit haughty but ultimately a good person Blake is reserved but not completely stoic Yang is tough and serious when needed but actually kind of a bubbly pun loving girl but she's gone through a lot. So far it seems the characters line up pretty well personality wise, though it's a bit hard to tell since its a much somber time and not as lighthearted, but I figure the actors and writers ought to be able to keep the personalities we've come to love in tact
it felt like Volume 1 all over again. We had to get use to the new animation, the setting, the characters, and the story. Especially the story though, it was like nothing had happened yet something did happen, kind of like Volume 1.
I feel like once they settle into the new animation engine and spend more time without Monty the fight scenes will become a lot smoother and have more flow. For instance, take RvB season 12 to season 13. I feel that season 12 had really slow, awkward fight scenes like Felix vs Carolina. But in season 13, the Carolina and Washington vs Felix and Locus fight was honestly one of my favorites in the show. It's all about their practice with the engine and their practice with designing the fights. I don't know if RWBY will ever be able to have fights that match Monty's, but time should be able to heal the more clunky fights. Qrow vs Tyrian was still really cool though. Definitely a top 3 fight for me.
DBread RvB season 11-13 felt like they were like starting over. Starting with machinima and getting back to their roots then new animators showed up and it just got better with each episode. Sort of the same with RWBY volume 4. These shows will only get better from here.
Honestly I never noticed the fights were different until I saw people pointing it out, that may just be me wanting good characters and story, thinking of the fight scenes as a bonus, and not really looking for pros and cons to them.
I always like reviews done by you. It is always interesting. Totally agree with you regarding the gravity thing, the fight scenes and the whole volume does feel 'different'.
This volume felt like a huge step back and breath, for both the characters and I think the staff. I'm not familiar with Maya or how everything works on it but I do know that POSER could be pretty difficult sometimes. Some scenes they would be working on would take hours to load when they would open them back up, then after a few hours they could finally add finishing touches or delete a few things that didn't quite fit. And sometimes things would go a little wonky, like the tails on the Beowolfs, so maybe MAYA is easier to work with? As for the fight scenes, I liked them just fine. I miss Monty's fight choreography, but they are not Monty. With time they will find their style and will hopefully get the hang of things by the time Volume 5 rolls around.
i felt yangs story was more about her fighting through her fear trauma and reluctance to return to her old life. i also felt weiss was less running away from her problems than putting them behind her and moving forward with bigger things
Whitley is a victim. He is the younger of the 3, and was left with Jacques. He had to learn from his sisters so he was not on his dads bad side. I think that he's acting how his dad wanted his children to act: obedient little shits.
This volume is personally my favorite one--it fleshes out the characters a lot, we get to see the history of two characters, we get to see new places and through multiple time skips and perspectives is quite unique. None of the other volumes has the tone this one has and I think this volume is the most important one.
Weiss's I'm a victim line was aimed at her prejudice against faunus and she states this as Blake says she's discrimitory. Do it is an excuse for sympathy, cause even if she is being treated unfairly at home that's no excuse for racism. Hands. Down.
She meant she was a victim because the White Fang were attacking her family all her life, stealing from them and possibly trying to kill or kidnap her or her family members. And she has a point from her point of view. Even Blake herself said that what the White Fang were doing was wrong. If you grew up hearing and knowing that your own personal family was under attack constantly by Faunus, you can understand why she'd be a bit racist towards them when from her view, any faunus she heard of or encountered where thugs attacking her family and stealing from them that were out for blood. Doesn't make it right to generalise but its understandable. Just like a lot of Faunus would hate the Schnee company or find them to be stuck up pompous racists, even though, as we've seen with Weiss, that isn't necessarily the case at all.
...personally, I consider volume 4 as a transitional period, for the characters, the plot, the animation, and pretty much everything bar the music, which is still on a basic progession pathway. The main characters spend the volume not doing much but recovering from volume 3, and recovering determination that lost/were starting to lose from volume 3's ending. The antaganists spent the volume gathering their power and preparing for the next step. It was truly a volume of recovery and preporation for all the characters with a proper role in the volume...
It's almost like this season represents winter, which we're told in the story of The Four Sisters is a time for reflection. Reflecting deals with reacting to the past, not developing characterization or progressing plot.
Well I can't help feel Vol 4 is more of a 'stepping stone' and to tie the first 3 to the 5 and beyond, a lot of stuff happened at 3 that they need to sort through some of the fallout and this is that. It felt lacking and got to the end thinking "Oh? That's it? Okay I guess" but they are clearly working on increasing the foundation of the story now that it has broken out of the school and into the world. Now we need to just wait for Vol 5 to come out, and like Vol 2 was better then Vol 1, I'm hoping to see an increase in entertainment too.
I agree with your opinion on the artstyle/animation style. Like, I get it, the new engine gives way to more possibilities in terms of aesthetic and such, but I also personally love the V3 look the most, with the 3d but also 2d look it had, so...yeah. :P
I believe v4 is good because most of the characters are spilt up and that makes them grow and realize their problems and what to fix. I don’t think Ruby had much of a character development in v4 but the rest did and I LOVED how Yangs new life was without her arm and how she reacted. Now i’m going to finish the rest of this video now.
The floating in some circumstances, not all, could be considered "slow-motion". It's hard to establish a slow shot without breaking the action. The scene where qrow is cut, some people say was to easy for ruby to cut the tail, but I feel if we watched it in real time, it was within a seconds
Volume 4 is different. But when you think about it, it lines up with the story, the art style and fightingstyle has changed yes, but the WORLD inside of rwby has also changed after season 3, because of the finally. IDK it adds up nicely in my mind
Volume 4 pros and cons. Pros: Still good music, animation, everything to do with Tyrian, and the design of the Nuckelavee. Cons: Literally everything else.
Personally love the new animation, I hated most every fight this season except qrow's fight, funnily enough the only huntsman on huntsman fight. All the Grimm fights felt jankie. But my biggest problem, I hate the new physics, part of what made the fights cool was that it was real physics at super speed, now they curve in mid air during jumps and weapons bend for no reason during motion not impacts. If they change the physics and study the old fight style they will honour Monty more and as a fan I will certainly be happier. And we need to tell rooster teeth that's what we want, as a company they are good about listening to their fans.
I thought it was a good volume. Maybe even better than Volume 1. However, it wasn't as good as Volume 2 or 3, but that's kind of ok... They have to start rebuilding that upward flow from somewhere, and I think they have succeeded. They've introduced some new characters and ideas to go forward with, showed some fun action and character scenes, and have built up the hype of several different events and plots - Haven academy in peril, the RWBY reuniting, and Oscar's whole situation. I really enjoyed this volume and am excited for the next.
I'm trying to place my finger on what it is about V4's flying that bothers me so much. I've been watching Ufotable's Fate Stay Night and Archer is practically flying in many of his fight scenes (VS Caster, both fights VS Lancer) but they all come off as badass. For V4, I remember thinking "well this is just awkward" for several moments when they are just floating in the air. The rock grim, the sea serpent grim, it all just felt so 'floaty'.
You should do a theory video on whether or not Penny will return! She was never confirmed dead by RT unlike Pyrrha and Roman. Also the fact she's a robot is a big hint that she could return, especially given the facts on how RT treats their robot characters in other shows. (Lopez from RVB for example; was reduced to a talking head on multiple occasions and still kept his characters-self. Freckles the giant mech-android was reduced to a talking self-shooting gun before being implanted into a toy robot.) There are many more hints as well. Just saying, I don't think we've seen the last of Penny just yet.
random useless theory time. We've talked before about how the moon is slowly shattering more over the course of the series. Could that be the cause of the lower gravity in this season? it doesn't really affect anything, but it could be fun to think about especially if the shattered moon and the reason behind it ever become part of the story
writing a series without the original creator ( bless to mr.oum ) is difficult but i think Miles & Kerry can improve themselfs and even ask for additional writers & combat coreographers. We need to give them a chance for the sake of the show and Monty Oum's memory & legacy. After the cons. of volume 4 & how toxic the fandom became i'll still watch the show & enjoy it.
I love volume four like the other volumes. The only thing that make me stay in the spine is because of the episodes. Like the episodes: Ruby and Weiss, Blake and Yang and so go on. For the animations I love it. It's awesome and the fights too. I know how it's very disappointing that volume 4 isn't like the other past volumes but something must change and maybe it's just because there's no team RWBY vs. evil guys that brings the epic fights...?
what i hate about this volume is that the villainq aren't doing any move , only tyrian attacking team RNJR and then disapearing , volume 2 and 3 were full of villains schemes .
I feel like what most of my problems I had with this volume stems from two things. The 6 month time skip that makes no sense making everything either "too rushed" or "too dragged on" and how they farted out all these new characters at once in turn leaving all the characters they had before that could've been more developed out in the dust.
Volume 4 Pros: Ren and Nora are finally together-together Lots of new stuff that seems potentially awesome (though it is really potential, because there isn't a whole lot done with all the new) Some interesting character development Cons: No Neo Some of the changes are a little jarring A lot of the pacing and ending issues I personally feel go away when you consider the fact that each season is three volumes long. So we saw the end of the first third of the season, and as the end of the opening to the season I think it was great. If it was the end of the season, then I would have a little more issue with it. I think that's also part (only part though) of the difference in love for the first three volumes.
I would argue the opposite for Weiss. I don't think it's about what she's running away from. It's about what she's running TO. She's running to make something honorable of her life and restore her family name. It's not facing her father head on, but that doesn't mean she's choosing not to face him at all
different is cured over time as long as its better with the same soul so, judge in after a while so you get used to it after all, we will never have monty back
rwby volume 4: pros: backstory on ren (and a bit of nora), learning more about qrow and the creators of the world of remnant, blake and sun's stories, seeing blake's homeland and family, aesthetically pleasing animation, literally everything about tyrian cons: no neo, yang's story was a bit anti-climatic? fight animation was a bit dry, the entire volume seemed a bit anticlimactic, and somehow it all lined up a bit too perfectly especially with the arrival of airships to save qrow.
For my, I thought it was alright. I did think it could use more fight scenes, showing Ruby and gang fight off those bandits that were shown would of been awesome. Neo is still missing, but I think she will probably return to the show cause they didn't really show her dying. Roman could also be alive cause he wasn't chewed, he was swallowed. So yeah, would love more fights in vol 5 and more of Neo cause Neo is the ULTIMATE WAIFU EVER!........I also didn't really like the Yang subplot, it basically was the writers saying "Hey! Yang is still here! We didn't forget about her!" Overall, I liked it, is it as heart breaking and soul stealing as vol 3? No, but judging on how heavy that volume was, I think it is safe to say that Vol 4 was a breather from the feelz of vol 3. Also I think it could use more episodes, I give the volume 4 a 8/10.
Finally someone said it. Every thing feels weird and clichéd. Naruto Running, Suns "stop them once and for all". i have way more examples but you get the point.
One big problem I think is that the attitudes of the characters don't feel like they've gone through six whole months since volume 3. The way it's written feels like its barely been a month since Beacon's Fall. For example, what was Blake doing in the months before she got onto the boat, because there is no way she has been on it for six months. Or how Sun has apparently been following her this entire time without her spotting him, especially since she still seems on high alert. Yang falls into the same issue, what has she been doing? Has she truly been mopping around the house for half a year? She doesn't even seem that upset by it anymore if she is completely fine with having jabs taken at her about it. She felt to inconsistent for what they were trying to make her out as. The same goes for Salem and her minions, did they seriously wait six months before scheduling the next meeting to discuss what what happens now? Weiss and RNJR I think do actually fit better with the six month time skip, RNJR has been walking to Haven and just from the intro we can see the distance they have made, as well as how they have formed a cohesive group in that time. Though I still don't understand why they decided to walk the whole way. Weiss's issue while similar to Yang's works better because she is essentially under house arrest even before Papa Schnee confines her. So I can see her having nothing to do but sit in her room brooding. But all in all this doesn't feel that long after Beacon, which kinda screws up the story and pacing for what goes on in the volume itself.
William Timms I agree that when you look at it like that, Yang, Blake's, and even Weiss's stories don't make much sense in terms of time. EruptionFang actually has a video about a theory that the stories were all happening at different times. It's just a theory, but if it helps you swallow the events of this volume better, I'd give it a watch (it definitely helped me). Chronologically, Weiss's story happened only a couple months after the fall of beacon and so she would be the 1st to arrive in Mistral. Blake's was second, Yang's was third and RNJR's was the only one that began 6 to 8 months after the fall of beacon. Obviously it's just a theory, but if it turns out that the stories really weren't happening at the same time, it seems really silly on rooster teeth's part to not make that clear. Hope this was helpful
Honestly I miss Poser, but this is what we got now so we gotta deal with it. I just hope that if the fights aren't going to get better then at least the story and characters will stay interesting.
Is it good? Well, there were certainly good elements to it (the voice acting and the animation in general) but overall I didn't enjoy it because none of the characters really expressed any previous personality traits aside from "sad" or the characters where "sad" hasn't always been their defining characteristic (ie Blake), and the fight scenes suffered a major downgrade (going from fast-paced stylized yet fun to watch fight scenes to recreating Dark Knight fight choreography on a trampoline). Not to mention the writing was about as boring and depressing as an average Christopher Nolan movie. Add on top of that the fact the Nuckelavee, one of the scariest Grimm in the show and was built up as capable of destroying entire villages, lost to four random teenagers that just barely graduated high school. And the new villains, aside from Tyrian, were just....boring. Nothing interesting or entertaining about them at all. Even Cinder's been reduced to a whimpering mess....
Joe Francis the fight scenes will most likely get better. We have to remember that this is their first time using this animation engine. They have to get used to it before going back to their old ways. Or at least that's what I think.
Why is the characters acting sad a bad thing after there school has been "destroyed" people they know died, there team is separated, and some were physically and mentally scarred? They all have reasons to be sad and they weren't even sad the whole time, look at yang in episode 4 or 9, Ruby in episode 1 and a few times in other episodes, Blake was also happy to see and talk to her parents and in episode 11 as well, Weiss may have been the only one was almost sad the whole volume but anyone would if they were in her position. The tyrion vs qrow fight, yang vs Tai and the Nuckelavee were definitely not floaty. They showed the Nuckelavee attacking villages without multiple trained huntsmen, and even when it did fight against RNJR it was able to take down Ren and Nora's aura which no Grimm has been able to do yet. The villians being boring is definitely subjective. There are plenty of people more interested in Watts and Hazel than tyrion just based on a few scenes alone. Whys is giving more personality to Cinder bad? She's still a person, just because she isn't evil or angry all the time doesn't make her worse. We know she still wants revenge against Ruby but we also know she's not respected by some of the people she works with.
Joe Francis well you can't expect any of the characters to be generally happy right now given all the shit that happened and is still happening, personally I found it pretty engaging
+Alan Collier The characters acting sad isn't a bad thing. It's when them acting sad envelops their whole pre-existing personality that's the problem. And no, Blake doesn't aside from Pyrrha's death, Penny's death, the fall of Beacon, and Yang getting her arm cut off. Even then, only two of those are applicable since Blake and Pyrrha barely interacted, and Blake and Penny never interacted. And yes, there were some moments when they were happy, but then they almost immediately went back to being sad or dramatic afterwards. And Blake was happy to see her parents, yes, but most of her dialogue was her moping like the angsty emo they wrote her as since the beginning. And Weiss most certainly shouldn't be sad. "Oh no, I'm in a mansion filled with all the luxuries I could want and a loyal, kind-hearted and funny butler. Poor me." The only bad things in that mansion were Jacques and Whitley. (Not counting that cheap Neptune knock-off Henry Marigold since he didn't live there). And of course there were trained hunstmen in the villages. What, you think random civilians picked up those bows and arrows and swords and stuff? No, there were at least some trained huntsmen there. What did you think Ren's dad was? Hazel? Interesting? Really? You mean the angry JonTron that got like six minutes of screen time in the whole Volume, and spent all that screen time growling? Also, interesting does not mean enjoyable to watch. Roman wasn't interesting, but he was sure as heck enjoyable to watch. I feel like falling asleep whenever Salem, Hazel, or Watts show up. Plus, Watts isn't that interesting either. He's barely had more screen time than Hazel! Tyrian's enjoyable to watch, and I find his near-religious devotion to Salem far more interesting than Sir Growls A Lot and Agent Wyoming Lite.
3 is still the best for me overall- it was amazing. I'd say 4 is great too though, i did love it. The one thing i really did not like at all was the fighting. Way too floaty man- the new art i grew to love but the way they floated about (and it did improve slightly i think throughout the season?) just complete took away from the scene and made every fight scene look kinda stupid and lose all impact for me. I did think crow's was cool tho. It's not fresh in my mind but it was fairly grounded i think and i think it worked the best out of any in the season. Second favourite season though definitely- oh and i absolutely loved sun in it. his fight style is just so cool and he's pretty much the perfect character of how he should be imo
It'll take me a while to get used to the new style, but I think I'll be fine with it. Hey if I wanna get into 3D animation, which out of these might be easiest to use: Poser 11 (current version, liked how it looked in the previous volumes) Unreal Engine 4 (played a few games that used this, like Borderlands 2) or Blender (heard it was quite good)?
I love volume 4 tbh. Love the character development, and the lack of action just makes it that much better. I hate the fact that people are shitting on it so hard
Honestly, I just think Volume Four was a chance for our characters to breathe, and I'm fine with a winding down season. I'm still kinda rattled by Pyrrha and Torckwick Dying (Rest In Peace my best good/bad guys)
What people fail to realize, this is essentially the start of "RWBY season 2" the first 3 volumes were basically "season 1". This volume was the same as Volume 1 in the sense of it was mostly character introductions and story development and world building. Volume 5 will probably have a great beginning, a 'meh' middle and things will probably start heating up towards the end and with Volume 6 being the end of "RWBY season 2" it'll probably be some crazy shit happening like 'The Fall of Haven'? Hopefully after volume 6 people will all change their minds about how they feel the pacing is and hopefully everyone will accept and come to enjoy the new animation style as it progressively gets better and better. I for one absolutely enjoy the old iconic look of the show and its characters but I think I love the new art style better. The characters and the world just feels more lively and real
i loved all the volumes, each had their own unique story, felt bad for yang's ptsd, felt like that could have ben written better and have ben more severe, but i enjoyed it
An old mentor comes across a young farm boy post a dramatic event when a evil force took over and the mentor is presumed dead and they meet up with a sarcastic badass and other allies to form a rebellion against the evil force Hmmm sounds familiar...
thank you I love the volume 3 animation but don't really like volume 4. I mean volume 5 is an upgrade but they just seem cut off from volume 1, 2, and 3 and I reaaally don't like the new physics or the new fighting.
I personally think that volume 4 was the perfect time to change all of this things as volume 4 tells a story about accepting the change and moving on.
I miss when rwby had physics :/
According to all known laws of aviation Ren should not be able to fly. Ren of course flies anyways, because Ren doesn't care what people think is impossible.
Does that make Ren a bee?
CD-Alyx it makes a bee movie meme
CD-Alyx but yeah i replacef bee with ren
RavenFal It kinda has, have you seen the way Nora's grenade launcher suddenly functions as heat seeking missiles or how characters can seemingly jump 20 meters in the air with no additional leverage compared to previous seasons?
To me volume 4 was more of a recovering volume where everyone was recovering since volume 3
EDIT: Just finished the video but I guess you can say the show change like the characters did
I disagree on the whole "Weiss didn't grow" thing.
Muck Fuslims my god that was edgy
question: if she put her foot down why did she sneak out? It's almost like she is afraid of the guy
Since Whitley has no powers it gives a hint, that Jaque himself has no or only little powers fit for fighting.
cpMetis Yup
The animation keeps changing because they keep updating their technology. They are living up to Monty's saying "Keep moving forward".
Sea monster grimm fight scene is a great example.)
This show was built on its amazing choreography and fight scenes. Now it just feels like a waste of potential. I dont care how long it takes for good quality episodes to come out, I just hope that one of the last few things we have to remember Monty by gets done the Monty way with his flare. They should have all his files and should know how to do it since RT worked with him.
Volume 4 Pros and Cons:
Pros: Greatly improved animation, Best Voice Acting yet, many new great characters, multiple story arcs.
Cons: Slowest pacing in the series yet, attempted too many story arcs all at once, anticlimactic ending.
Overall I give RWBY Volume 4 an 8.5/10, It's better than Volume 1 but weaker than Volume 2 and 3.
H3adHunt3r I liked more 4 than 2, 3 is the best in my opinion
Holcan Perez vol 4 is a filler xD wtf
Luis Fz No it's not, there's some really key things that happened in volume 4 that can affect events in volume 5
It's not filler. It is setting up the next arc, just like volume 1. Couple that with the loss of Monty and moving to a new engine, it more than explains the shortcomings.
+Don't Read My Profile Picture Okay so vol 4 was not a filler. Even though you can sum up everything that happened in it in no more than 30 seconds.
I liked it. A lot of people say this is a filler volume and that when volume 5 comes out you can skip it, but there are key factors in it that can effect volume five
Along with team RWBY heading to Mistral, Oscar is gonna be there to with Ozpins in his head to train to be a warrior, Salem thinks Qrow and Ozpin are gone, Yang learning not to always rely on her semblance to much, Sun talking sense into Blake and hopefully getting her to stop running away
We also learned about Qrow semblance, a lot more about Ren backstory (Ren really didn't have much of a backstory other he and Nora are orphans)
Sure the fight scenes aren't as impressive as back then, but let's give it time, hopefully it will get better.
Isn't one of the key values and messages of RWBY is "Change"?
I personally enjoy Volume 4, it's different, but it's necessary,
The world of Remnant always had a great potential, but during Volume 1-3, they never really tried to grip onto that potential.
3:18 That beautifully timed edit earned you a like.
it's the small things
Agreed
I didn't even notice the timing, thx mate
@@SpectreCiNW what?

You've hit the nail on the head for a lot of my thoughts on this volume that I haven't figured out how to form into words.
There were parts of Volume 4 that I absolutely _loved_, so so _so_ much, and there were parts that really fell flat, more than any part of the series before. In the end, "different" is a really good way to describe it overall, more than "good" or "bad".
Arkatox It had too much going on, too many things to focus on, needed longer episodes or more episodes (13 or 14 or even 16).
And they fact that basically everyone bar Qrow did moves that were completely useless and just put in there to be "flashy"
imo the fight scenes are worse because they lose all sense of flow and just become jagged and floaty.
logmouth The change in physics (floatiness) bothers me to no end too.
But volume 4 isn't a climax, it's a first act.
Bryan Davis But volume 4 wasn't a climax, it's basically a better version of volume 1
Davin Long i agree with most of what you said, i think volume 3 is better but 4 is my second favourite
WARNING: Essay incoming
Maya's physic engine is... well, maya doesn't really _have_ a good working physics engine - It's not really intended for handling this kind of complex processing.
It bothers me even more that he's a scorpion because scorpions are awesome and he is anti-awesome.
big mood!
I love how when Blake speaks, her cat ears fold. Cutest thing ever!
Favorite part of Blake's "story" was her finally getting told her whole self hate pity party isn't helping ANYONE at all.
They should have gone with the "one woman rampage against the WF" arc
The Seasons rated by meaning for me:
S1 - 5 points
S2 - 8 points
S3 - 10000000000000000000000000000 + points
S4 - 7.5 points
I was worried this was going to be an April Fools prank video. I'm glad it wasn't. Good video!
i personaly think that it looks better in maya, but it looks good in every volume
I noticed it but it didn't lessen my enjoyment.
what's important to me honestly is A. there is a decent story told that fits the world
and B. that the characters stay well, in character and don't stray too far from who we know them to be i.e.
Ruby is heroic and usually bubbly (when appropriate
Weiss is a bit haughty but ultimately a good person
Blake is reserved but not completely stoic
Yang is tough and serious when needed but actually kind of a bubbly pun loving girl but she's gone through a lot.
Best line of the entire vid right at the end there...
"Except for the music, the music is still dope."
Nailed it.
How dare you even ask that? I have my fanboy blinders on so tightly I refuse to believe anything negative about this show.
I always like reviews done by you. It is always interesting. Totally agree with you regarding the gravity thing, the fight scenes and the whole volume does feel 'different'.
The animation style in volume 4 dose seam more crisp than the other volumes. In my opinion at least.
I see Black Sun as a straight Naruto x Saskue.
Ren can fly because he DREAMS BIG
I think the new animation is just natural progression and I love it. Although I do miss the fight scenes of the past.
The music is still dope 😂
i felt yangs story was more about her fighting through her fear trauma and reluctance to return to her old life. i also felt weiss was less running away from her problems than putting them behind her and moving forward with bigger things
Whitley is a victim. He is the younger of the 3, and was left with Jacques. He had to learn from his sisters so he was not on his dads bad side.
I think that he's acting how his dad wanted his children to act: obedient little shits.
You summed up exactly how I feel about this volume.
This volume is personally my favorite one--it fleshes out the characters a lot, we get to see the history of two characters, we get to see new places and through multiple time skips and perspectives is quite unique. None of the other volumes has the tone this one has and I think this volume is the most important one.
Basically 6 stories, team WTCH and Salem's story too
Good vid btw
I kinda think of volume 4 as the "everyone gets ready to strike back" arc.
Now i’m going to finish the rest of this video now.
for Easter eggs on volume 4 when blake slices the wing of the water grim it's the run down the mountain while sky diving theory by gavin
All i can say about season 4/5, love Yang's new attire
Also I feel like if seasons 1-3 were compressed, nothing would change
Thank god i'm not the only one thinking like that about the animation style
The floating in some circumstances, not all, could be considered "slow-motion". It's hard to establish a slow shot without breaking the action. The scene where qrow is cut, some people say was to easy for ruby to cut the tail, but I feel if we watched it in real time, it was within a seconds
Idk what it is about Oscar that's made him my favourite character but all I can say is I would die for that kid.
I disagree but hey, what do I know?
More like 6 stories, if you count Cinder's therapy sessions.
I try to imagine the new looks with the old animation style.
random useless theory time.
Well I felt that the Volume 5 Weiss short had that dancing feel to it. Especially when she decapitated that Grimm.
what i hate about this volume is that the villainq aren't doing any move , only tyrian attacking team RNJR and then disapearing , volume 2 and 3 were full of villains schemes .
yasser montasser Cause volume four is the begging of a new arc
The villains didn't do much in volume one
Fans: VOLUME 4 US THE WORST VOLUME!!!!!
Volume 5: Hold my beer.
I feel like what most of my problems I had with this volume stems from two things. The 6 month time skip that makes no sense making everything either "too rushed" or "too dragged on" and how they farted out all these new characters at once in turn leaving all the characters they had before that could've been more developed out in the dust.
I prefered the animation is volume 3 too
Volume 4
Pros: Ren and Nora are finally together-together
Lots of new stuff that seems potentially awesome (though it is really potential, because there isn't a whole lot done with all the new)
Some interesting character development
Cons: No Neo
Some of the changes are a little jarring
A lot of the pacing and ending issues I personally feel go away when you consider the fact that each season is three volumes long.
It's not facing her father head on, but that doesn't mean she's choosing not to face him at all
different is cured over time as long as its better with the same soul
so, judge in after a while so you get used to it
after all, we will never have monty back
rwby volume 4:
pros: backstory on ren (and a bit of nora), learning more about qrow and the creators of the world of remnant, blake and sun's stories, seeing blake's homeland and family, aesthetically pleasing animation, literally everything about tyrian
cons: no neo, yang's story was a bit anti-climatic? fight animation was a bit dry, the entire volume seemed a bit anticlimactic, and somehow it all lined up a bit too perfectly especially with the arrival of airships to save qrow.
William Timms team RNJR didnt plan to walk the whole way, they thought there was going to be ships in that second town they went to
Honestly I miss Poser, but this is what we got now so we gotta deal with it.
Joe Francis I think there is an exception. The Qrow vs Tyrian fight was extremely fun, and I would like to see the fights done in that style again.
Overall, I give vol 4 a meh. Not good, not bad. Just okay.
You can tell Monty poured his heart into it. The team that was left just doesn't feel like they care all too much or are just incompetent.
yeah that is about right.the best comparison is fairy tail 2014 being the only difference is that rwby volume 4 knows how animate
It'll take me a while to get used to the new style, but I think I'll be fine with it.
Hey if I wanna get into 3D animation, which out of these might be easiest to use:
Poser 11 (current version, liked how it looked in the previous volumes)
Unreal Engine 4 (played a few games that used this, like Borderlands 2)
or Blender (heard it was quite good)?
The characters and the world just feels more lively and real
i loved all the volumes, each had their own unique story, felt bad for yang's ptsd, felt like that could have ben written better and have ben more severe, but i enjoyed it
Finally I find some one else who thinks this
isak farreese Can any one tell me the show where the fight scene at 7:38 is from?
An old mentor comes across a young farm boy post a dramatic event when a evil force took over and the mentor is presumed dead and they meet up with a sarcastic badass and other allies to form a rebellion against the evil force
Hmmm sounds familiar...
thank you I love the volume 3 animation but don't really like volume 4. I mean volume 5 is an upgrade but they just seem cut off from volume 1, 2, and 3 and I reaaally don't like the new physics or the new fighting.
