I've been meaning to make this video for a couple weeks now, but unfortunately, due to schedule restraints, I am forced to make it last minute. If you have followed the channel or my Instagram for any length of time, then you know I am part of a fine art photography collective called the All Format Collective. Its a film photography collective consisting of some of my all-time favorite photographic artists. Each year the collective comes together to craft a limited edition zine/book. The quality and intentionality of these zines truly set them apart from the rest. Months of dedication and fine-tuning go into each copy, and as a result, they sell out shortly after their release each year.
I've covered issues 1 and 2 in a previous episode of Community Zines Features, but now issue 3 is out, and again nearly sold out. In this video, I discuss the legacy of the zines from the collective, as well as address the top 3 common questions I get in about All Format Collective. And as a bonus, I asked the collective to offer up some solid photographic advice, that is featured at the end of the video. I hope it serves you well!

Forgive my delay in making this video, I hope the issues aren't sold out by the time you see this, but I also wanted to make this video to cover some frequently asked questions about the Photography Collective I am a part of. Like I mention at the beginning of the vid, the ending is probably the best part. I asked the collective to give tidbits of advice for young and aspiring photographers, and the wide range of comments and suggestions that came in are definitely worth reading through. Just ordered my copy of the zine. Haven't bought one in a while - I need to get better about snatching up zines and photo books regularly, but the ol' wallet is a limiting factor.
This comes at a great time though. I'm about to start a residency in Thomasville, GA and one of the things I hope to create out of it is my first zine. I've been thinking of making one for a long time but just haven't had the focused body of work I would need to make a zine that has enough substance and makes enough sense. Your videos about zine making will definitely be referenced.

@@NickExposed The studio says it's 2-4 months for their residencies, so I suspect I'll be doing the full 4 months (I'd probably stay indefinitely if they'd let me...). They're planning to build a darkroom and I'll be teaching one or two film photography workshops.
It's awesome to have supportive people like you in the film photography community. I'm just glad to be in a position to pass on some of what I've learned from others who have been open and instructive and so giving of themselves.

45govt that’s the one I’ve got as well. A beautiful piece in and of itself. My in-laws got if for me this Christmas. Such an amazing time piece. Nice to have a quartz watch that’s always ready to go. Some days I don’t want to wind or reset my automatic or manual pieces you know.

If you are looking for a dive watch check out the Phoibos, I have a Wave Master and will probably get their automatic Sub homage as my Rolex needs service and I am reluctant to send it off right now, way too much money right now for the service and if I send to the Rolex service they will completely recondition and I want to leave it as is as it has aged beautifully, I bought it new in 1980 for 900.00.
Sorry to go off on a watch thread, but kinda goes with the older cameras.
