    Oh em gee, Mercedes. This is such a relevant video and yes, me too, I do not know if I should be happy or hesitant now because I am about to upload my 3 videos to qualify for onsite commissions. They are great videos with perfect audio but they are in landscape format. Do I still upload them? I need your urgent advice please Thank you!

      @mercedesgomeznow  Месяц назад +2

      Hahaha! Don't worry about it too much. My guess is that the switch will happen slowly over time. Amazon is still using our horizontal videos on product pages. I think you should still submit your 3 videos horizontally. As long as they are good and don't talk about price or anything like that, you should be good. Once you get in, then you can figure out if you need to be creating vertical videos.

      @@mercedesgomeznow Thank you so much. Your video is actually the reason why I am signing up for Onsite Commission. I saw you on RUclips and I have been binge watching your videos so I got lots of tips from you and am incorporating them in all 3: good audio, no logos except for the product itself, steady camera, no people (my dog did a little cameo but I hope that is okay?), no price, etc. Wish me luck, girl!!! Thank you so much for all your tips. Even if Amazon has changes, I am not slowing down. I really don't have a choice, lol. I turn 63 in August so I am switching to high gear!

      @@mercedesgomeznow oh em gee, I think I missed a big one --- should I have mentioned in these videos that I am an amazon affiliate and that I get commissions from the sale of the product?

      @@JackieDiy Jackie, that is so amazing to hear! I'm glad I could help you and it sounds like you definitely learned a lot! I wish you nothing but the best and I know your hard work is going to pay off! Your videos sound like they will be just fine. Try to get them submitted asap and be patient while they review them. Keep me updated on your journey and I'm here for whatever you need!

    • @mercedesgomeznow
      @mercedesgomeznow  Месяц назад

      @@JackieDiy No, you don't need to mention that. The only time you mention something like that in your videos is when you get a product for free. If you get a product sent to you by a company you just need to say something like "I was given this product for my honest review." If you are posting your links or your videos anywhere other then on Amazon, then you would need to type a disclaimer saying that you are an affiliate. I hope that helps.

    There's a lot of misunderstanding around the vertical vs horizontal video "announcement" that happened on the Prime Day Prep Zoom call. In my understanding, they poorly communicated that the vertical "requirement" is just for photos and videos to be picked up by Inspire and Amazon's Creator Ads program (which you have to opt into). Horizontal shoppable videos are not going away.

    • @thegingerdigitalentreprene8609
      @thegingerdigitalentreprene8609 Месяц назад +1

      yes. This was my understanding too. I think the vertical thing has been totally twisted.

    • @ChavezReviews-xm2fn
      @ChavezReviews-xm2fn Месяц назад

      Correct. Amazon wants more vertical videos to compete with TikTok. RUclips is doing the same thing.

    Lots of my products require more than 30sec reviews. So I’m curious how I can provide enough informative content for a buying decision. Looks like my style is gonna change age to more of an entertainment style to fit the vertical 30sec regulations

    Thanks for the info!!! Do you see creators just reedit their content from long horizontal form and shorten and reframe to portrait frame and reupload or do you see creators recreate older content into the new short form content? Thanks!!!!!

    • @mercedesgomeznow
      @mercedesgomeznow  Месяц назад +4

      No problem! I actually haven't seen many creators using their old content and turning it into vertical form. I really haven't been looking too hard though. This is all so new so I can imagine vertical videos are going to start showing up a lot more in the coming months.

    I’ve been trying to get into the program with TikTok, the account is 50 days old and I have about 40 videos posted all showing my face. 1 TikTok video is approaching 50k views with hundreds of comments and likes. I’ve commented at least 70 times on that one post alone, yet I’m still not getting approved into the influencer program. Any ideas?

    1) Thanks for the video. Do you know if an influencer's conversion rate affects how much they show our videos? 2) What is considered short form? 1-2 minutes? or even less?

    I did a lot of vertical for their July 1 promotion and one of my videos got 2520 views then it just stopped. 3 weeks later still views have not changed at all, still at 2520 views. My horizontals still perform much better so I won’t be doing any more vertical.

    Amazon is doing what RUclips is doing...focusing their efforts on competing with TikTok. RUclips also pushes vertical short form content and it makes sense as a company. But that doesn't always make sense to the individual creator because horizontal content still makes more money. To be clear, horizontal content is not being replaced by vertical content. Vertical content will exist side by side with horizontal content.

    Ok, crazy question!! I have been approved for the influencer program! YAY! Except the account that I got approved for is a new Amazon account (long story). My question is this: When applying for Onsite Commissions, do I HAVE to use products I already purchased on my new account? I have not purchased any new items on this account but I have a ridiculous amount on my other account. 🙄 Just don't wanna waste 1 of my 3 chances doing it wrong! How should I handle this? Thanks in advance. (Great videos by the way!)

      You haveto contact them, try as many brands you can, but i suggest you wait to at least 800 and over reviews, as they won't contact you unless you have over afew thousand reviews, and showcasing products in 4k quality and have youtube channel or tiktop with thousand of subscribers, and followers which happend to me, i try emails fo brand for 50 brands, and one brand is willing to collaborate with me by sending sample product, also they have requirements, also price is matter, don't try for big brands for start. hope that was helpful,
