So awesome man, loved the colour film with that neon glow atmosphere, video has gone up a level with the slo mo and editing techniques.. seriously nice!!
I cannot get over the colors that the 500t produces! I haven't been able to get my hands on any but it's certainly at the top of the list of films I want to try. As always, amazing pictures, Robin and the editing was superb!!!!
In first place congratulations on other awesome and pleasant episode. Now I’ve to say that I definitely got myself impressed in how fast do you’re able to focus a rangefinder camera at night. I also have an M6 and I gave up on using it at night because of focus issues. Any tip is very welcome and again congratulations these two films are very beautiful.
Thank you Junio! Practice as often as possible and if you're shooting into a light source try to block out the light with your hand to get rid of the lens flare in the rangefinder. 👍
Like many other commenters I also think that BNW grain was a blast! Great stuff. Cant really tell which film looks "better", but the pic of the guy sitting waiting for his loundry (I think) was aweesomee. 5star pic.
Hi Robin, I must say, your video is such a relaxing thing to enjoy. If I'm not mistaken, the vision 3 500t requires ECN-2 processing, and the cinestill 800 is the emulsionless (if you know what I mean haha) version of it right?? Just want to ask how do you actually process the 500t? and what are your thoughts on how its different from the cinestill 800? thank you!!
Thank you Corey! Yes, the CineStill is lacking the remjet layer which makes it easier to have it processed in a lab. I have a video on how I process vision 3 film stocks. It's very simple and that's why I prefer vision 3 films. They are a lot cheaper and the results are nicer because you won't get these sometimes nasty halos that CineStill might give you. 👍
That grain on itself was kinda art. Loved it, not for many rolls of film cause then it looses its magic. Not bad at all. The rest of the video was great, as usual, magic from the orient . Thanks for sharing (also love the frame change in the video where the screen turns around)
Hey Robin, I must have just missed you in Taipei. I came from a cold autumn in NZ and wow the heat was crazy in Taipei and Taichung. Awesome video and photos as always :)
Great video, the transitions are so damn great!! Also thx for sharing that you messed up the developing of the TMAX Film. Sh*** happens :-) I have one question about the Kodak Vision 3- is Cinestill 800t some kind of the same film stock? Or did I mix something up?
Another interesting video - thanks for posting. Which film do I prefer? As an old B/W shooter, I've always loved the grain given by TMAX so I guess I'm bias in saying that gets my vote.
The video seems perfect! So does the color of vision3 ! While there is only a little light at night, is the focusing zone skill like setting the aperture at f4 or 5.6 still useful? Or you have to push the roll several stops?
Nice video as always. I liked the color film a lot. The grainy film was still pleasing for the eyes. What is your typical aperture during those shots? Beste Grüße aus Miami
I liked both but I think the grain worked OK on some shots (the skateboard, the girl staring at her boyfriend with helmet) but much less on others (the guy sleeping on his load, the girl and dog on scooter). Excellent video, as always! Thank you Sir!
Out of curiosity did you use a lens filter on the 500t to color balance or just adjusted it in post while scanning? I think I preferred the 500t. But certainly it varies shot by shot. Sometimes B&W just works better.
very interesting video to watch. I am strictly digital photographer never shot on film so that is why is very interesting for me to watch. Also never tried street photography which I really want to try so I looked at few videos like yours to get the feel of it. I've tried all kids of photography in 13 years I am doing this but I really don't know why I never came across to it... I guess you just need to sort of grow into that... thanks for sharing.. awesome video.
Great video, and great photos. Well composed and interesting. I don't mind the grain on the P3200 too much, but did you shoot at box speed? Likewise with the 500T, was it shot at box speed? It had so little grain and looks beautiful!
Thank you Rasmus! My intention was to not push the tmax because it was my first roll with it and I wanted to see how it looks. The vision 3 was pushed by 2 stops. The key is to give it as much light as possible to avoid underexposure. When shot in 120 it's even better! 😁👌
the_real_sir_robin Thank you for the anwser Robin. A quick follow up question for the 500T: Do you overexpose by to stops and develop normally, or do you overexpose and then compensate and push it in development too? :)
Excellent! Thanks for taking the time to reply :) I thought it looked like an Ultron. I've got a Color Skopar 35mm f2.5 in M mount but have been thinking of trading it in for an Ultron. The Skopar is so compact, but the Ultron is just a little faster...
I can definitely recommend the Color Skopar 35mm f2.5. It's a sharp, contrasty lens. I mostly shoot B&W and I think it renders wonderfully on B&W stocks. It's compact too: using it on my M6 or M4, I can easily fit my camera in a jacket pocket. Build quality is good as well. Some reviews complain about the aperture ring being too easy to adjust accidentally when focusing, but focusing with the tab, I've never had that problem. Here's a link to a portrait I shot with it, using Ilford HP5 pushed to ISO 800, on a recent documentary project: paul-a-j-lewis.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/ALBION.jpg (The image is compressed for viewing on my website, but it'll give you an idea as to the characteristics of the lens.) I sometimes crave something a little bit 'faster' for shooting in low light, but as a 'street' or landscape/travel lens, the Color Skopar 35mm f2.5 is pretty essential (imo) :)
Love your videos, Robin. Always have. They're a big reason to do with why I now love to shoot street. BUT, I have to say, I'm not a fan of the shot of the guy sleeping on the street. If it was a doco on rough sleepers and it treated such people with dignity, telling their story, then OK. It felt like a bit of a cheap shot here. On a brighter note, that colour film is gorgeous and gets my vote.
Thank you Steven! Usually that wouldn't be a subject I am after. However, when shooting for RUclips there are a certain time constraints and I can't be too selective to finish the roll. In this case it was about the reflection and less about the guy.
I like the grain in the BW shots and prefer them to the color shots by far. The color was distracting and added nothing to the images. I used HC110 also, it's nice because it doesn't go bad in the container, last years but switched to Acufine .
Dude man! These edits keep getting better! Too bad about the BW, let's just pretend that was an artistic choice to make it more vintage! The 500t looks dope!
P3200, like the Ilford Delta 3200, they are all the same type that been officially push to 3200, original asa@800, better performance at asa400 tho... but waste of an ultimately high speed film

Ob du die übers Internet bestellst und wenn ja könntest du mir eine Seite empfehlen? Wäre nett, da ich bei Amazon nicht fündig werde:)
Why would I need a permission? It's a stupid mindset that a lot of people have these days that need a permission for almost everything. Life is complicated enough, why would you want to make it even more difficult? 😉
Nice clip, shame about the Tmax. Did you end up pushing the Vision 3 two stops, if so what did you add on in developing time? Here are some photos I did over May to music, hope you enjoy. ruclips.net/video/oximZoqe5Zw/видео.html
Thank you Martin! I let the film 5 minutes in the developer instead of 3:15 but the developer was already a little depleted. Will check out your link later! 👌
The best street photography channel on RUclips. Always incredible. The launderette photos is perfection. Keep up the amazing work!
You are one of the best in developing vision3 film stock that I have ever seen.
The 3200 wasn't that bad, at least what was shown. But man, the colors of that 500t... amazing. At what iso did you shoot it in the end, 1600?
Thanks Bernardo! I pushed it two stops. 👌
Great work for all. Your 's Still photo & video edit are Awesome. .... Love it !!! 💕💕💕
Thank you very much! ✌️
I love the black-and-white photos those were amazing
The Vision 3 500t colors are great!
👍
I really like your intros, the music choice and synchronization
Finally!! The both of films are beautiful ~😍😍
Thank you! 😁👍
Both films. Nice video Robin.
Tmax3200 you said shot at box speed, did you shoot at at 800 or push it to 3200? & what did you end up pushing up to on Kodak Vision?
So sweet end👏
😊✌️
You're like a invisible behind the camera! Ha! Its awesome! 😬
Haha! 🤗
To be honest... The grainy bw pictures look really interesting! But the vision3 pictures are just amazing.
Thank you very much Michael! ✌️
So awesome man, loved the colour film with that neon glow atmosphere, video has gone up a level with the slo mo and editing techniques.. seriously nice!!
Thank you very much! ☺️
Some great work. Love that grain!
I cannot get over the colors that the 500t produces! I haven't been able to get my hands on any but it's certainly at the top of the list of films I want to try. As always, amazing pictures, Robin and the editing was superb!!!!
Thank you Juan! Hope you'll be able to try it out asap! ☺️👌
I'll try to make it work with my broke college student budget hahaha :')
nice video. probably not but did you use a filter for the 500t?
No, almost never use a filter. 👍

I really like the results you got with the Vision 3 500t. It is a great look!
Like many other commenters I also think that BNW grain was a blast! Great stuff. Cant really tell which film looks "better", but the pic of the guy sitting waiting for his loundry (I think) was aweesomee. 5star pic.

I’m a Taiwanese, it was not until this moment I know that how beautiful my hometown is!
🤗
Hello, could you kindly tell us how you travel/fly with film? Especially with the high sensitive iso3200 rolls?
A video in that topic is already planned! ✌️
Everything can not be perfect, but the last roll it was cool... I like it :) I hope you make more soon :)
😁 Thank you! No worries, more is about to come! 👌✌️
Great video. I’m in Taiwan right now and this was super inspiring being a Leica shooter myself
Thank you! I really liked shooting in Taiwan, have to go back there one day! 😁👌
That grain on itself was kinda art. Loved it, not for many rolls of film cause then it looses its magic. Not bad at all.
The rest of the video was great, as usual, magic from the orient .
Thanks for sharing (also love the frame change in the video where the screen turns around)
Thank you very much! I'll shoot the tmax again but then with less grain for sure! 😁
Man ! this made me so nostalgic about Taiwan and Taipei, this is my favorite country and a blast to photograph there :)
I had a blast there, definitely worth going back to Taiwan at some point. ☺️👍
Love all the photos! What was the ISO setting for Vision3 photos?
Hey Robin, I must have just missed you in Taipei. I came from a cold autumn in NZ and wow the heat was crazy in Taipei and Taichung. Awesome video and photos as always :)
Thank you Darryl! When I was there the weather was almost perfect and not as crazy hot and sticky as it seems to be right now. 😁
This was my 43rd time to Taiwan and May was a crazy hot month. Hope you enjoyed your time in Taiwan :)
😲 you're basically living there! Had a wonderful time and will probably go back again at one point.
You have a keen eye. Very entertaining! Gut gemacht!
Thank you very much! 😊
*I actually love the grain, great shots and fantastic b-roll!*
Thank you very much! 👌
Great video, the transitions are so damn great!! Also thx for sharing that you messed up the developing of the TMAX Film. Sh*** happens :-) I have one question about the Kodak Vision 3- is Cinestill 800t some kind of the same film stock? Or did I mix something up?
Thank you Kevin! CineStill is based on Kodak Vision3 500T with the Remjet removed. Wait for the next episode. 😉
Nice video. Did you rely on the built-in meter in the M6 for these shots?
No meter was used. I'll publish a video talking specifically about that topic very soon!
Amazing colors withe the Kodak Vision. Did you develop it at home as well?
Thank you Javier! Yes, developed at home. 👍
I really like the context that the video gives to the stills. Very cool. What camera do you use for the video? Thanks!
Thank you very much Brad! I am using a GH5. The gear is listed in the video description if you are interested. 👍
Another interesting video - thanks for posting. Which film do I prefer? As an old B/W shooter, I've always loved the grain given by TMAX so I guess I'm bias in saying that gets my vote.
Thank you Paul! 😊👌
Great video, makes me miss Taiwan! The photo at 9:10 is especially moving!
Thank you Josh! 👌
The video seems perfect! So does the color of vision3 ! While there is only a little light at night, is the focusing zone skill like setting the aperture at f4 or 5.6 still useful? Or you have to push the roll several stops?
Thank you! I pushed it by two stops. There was no way to stop down the lens, all shots were taken wide open. ✌️
the_real_sir_robin Really accurate focus in wide open! The photos are sharp and nice.
Nice video as always. I liked the color film a lot. The grainy film was still pleasing for the eyes. What is your typical aperture during those shots? Beste Grüße aus Miami
Dankeschön! ☺️ I shot all photos wide open at f/1. 7
I’ve done that (with HC 110). It makes choosing between the two films difficult. I’ll only say that I like the pictures anyway, as always.
Black & white was my favorite 👍📸👍
Thanks Alex! 👍
Oh and I liked both film emulsions; I'm going to try the 500t myself
Colour..... I love the look of that film..🤪
Great video! But please, tell me where do you get 500T in europe!
Thank you. Bought mine on ebay.
I liked both but I think the grain worked OK on some shots (the skateboard, the girl staring at her boyfriend with helmet) but much less on others (the guy sleeping on his load, the girl and dog on scooter). Excellent video, as always! Thank you Sir!
Thank you Luc! ☺️
Hi, robin. Did you take a picture without looking at the finder?
No, I usually don't do that.
Out of curiosity did you use a lens filter on the 500t to color balance or just adjusted it in post while scanning?
I think I preferred the 500t. But certainly it varies shot by shot. Sometimes B&W just works better.
No filter was used since the 500t is for this kind of lighting environment. A filter would also cut down too much light which would have an issue. 👌
I almost always prefer color, so for me the 500t is easily the winner. Loved the colors in that laundromat shot
Thank you Mateo! ✌️☺️
I don't know how many will agree, but I kinda like the grain in some of the photos.
I guess they don't always need to be super sharp to be nice.
very interesting video to watch. I am strictly digital photographer never shot on film so that is why is very interesting for me to watch. Actually I shot all the photos at around 1/60 or sometimes even at 1/15 and pushed the film two stops in development.
Streets are so full of light there
Great video. Tschuss!
Very nice edit. What was the lens focal lenght you used?
Thank you! For the photos? I was shooting a 35mm lens on the M6. It's my go to lens! 👌
I actually thought the grain of the p3200 was fine. The color film was very nice, this would be my night-time film combo. Cheers!
Thank you Shawn! The 500t is so nice for night time shooting, highly recommended! 👌
Fantastic shots!!
Thank you Jared! 😊
Excellent video! Nicely edited! Can I ask, what lens were you using on the M6, please?
Thank you Paul! 😊 I was using the Voigtländer 35mm Ultron.
Excellent! Thanks for taking the time to reply :) I thought it looked like an Ultron. I've got a Color Skopar 35mm f2.5 in M mount but have been thinking of trading it in for an Ultron. The Skopar is so compact, but the Ultron is just a little faster...
I was thinking about adding the 35/2.5 to my kit. 😁 The size is perfect for traveling.
Will probably get one or maybe a 28mm, not sure yet. 🤓
What lens did you use on your leica m6?
I hope you got to go down south to Kaohsiung! I was amazed by Kaohsiung. The people are the best.
Thanks for the recommendation Alex. Unfortunately, I am not in Taiwan anymore but maybe next time! ☺️
8:53 love the color panel !
Congratulation for your video and shots. Very nice!!!
Thank you Ninni! 😊
Definitely preferred Vision 3. Btw, you can get Tri-X 400 and push to 3200 with less grain they say
No idea, haven't pushed TRI-X.
Nice shots.
Hi, welcome to Taiwan. I love your photo. Hope you can shoot more in Taiwan. 👍🏻
Thank you! Unfortunately, I am not in Taiwan anymore but I had a great time. More videos from Taiwan are coming! ✌️
hey sir robin, hope someday you will come to China Chendu and have some wonderful shoot, maybe i can be a video guy in your China trip!
Like the color film better, the grain was indeed a little high. Nice work!
Thank you very much! 😊
I like the grain in the BW shots and prefer them to the color shots by far. The color was distracting and added nothing to the images. I used HC110 also, it's nice because it doesn't go bad in the container, last years but switched to Acufine .
Color or not is very subjectiv and everyone will have a different opinion. Will use HC110 for a while now to get a better feel for the results. 👍
How did you push and process the 500t?
Simply by letting it longer in the developer. Instead of 3:15 I let the film sit in there for 5 minutes.
Dude man! These edits keep getting better! Too bad about the BW, let's just pretend that was an artistic choice to make it more vintage! The 500t looks dope!
The grain wasn't bad at all, but that 500t was magical. Nicely done.
Thank you! Wait for the next episode! 😉
How did you meter for the 500t? Just the M6 in camera meter? Meter for shadows? Thx.
Niiiice!
Nice music too.
P3200, like the Ilford Delta 3200, they are all the same type that been officially push to 3200, original asa@800, better performance at asa400 tho... but waste of an ultimately high speed film
Hey:)
Hallo Louis! Kann dir z.B. Macodirect oder Fotoimpex empfehlen! Viel Spaß beim Probieren von neuen Filmen! 😊
Sehr, sehr cooles Video! Kanal direkt abonniert.
Dankeschön Francis! 👌😊
The Leica M6 is the best.
Einfach Grossartig ! Ps: Vision 3.
Danke Toby! 👌
Colour colour colour
Again a great video i loved watching. Great shots with the m6 :( and those transitions! Stellar!
Thank you very much! 👌😊
10:28 would have been a good shot :)
Wasn't shooting anymore, but hey it's on video. 🤗
it's always hard to focus my Leica in night street
It's easier during daytime but when you practice a lot you can get good at it eventually! 😊
the_real_sir_robin yea it's always a pleasure!
i wonder how do you take that pictures without permission. Sorry for my english
Why would I need a permission? It's a stupid mindset that a lot of people have these days that need a permission for almost everything. Life is complicated enough, why would you want to make it even more difficult? 😉
welcome to Taiwan
Thank you Edmund!
No more wobbly loop based jazz on film photography channels...it’s infuriating!
Very nice pictures but some of the music was not so good.
Nice clip, shame about the Tmax. Did you end up pushing the Vision 3 two stops, if so what did you add on in developing time?
Here are some photos I did over May to music, hope you enjoy.

Thank you Martin! I let the film 5 minutes in the developer instead of 3:15 but the developer was already a little depleted. Will check out your link later! 👌
Nimm den TMax bei 800-1600 mit dem Pyro510 ;)
bG Udo
Bin mit HC110 mehr als zufrieden! 👌
