Here, hold my beer.....merica.
yupp, that how you narrow it down!
The nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll were bad, too. They didn't have the means to keep the soldiers safe. It wasn't an experiment on the soldiers, they were just collateral. One of my uncles was there for the testing of the first nuke with solid/dry fuel. They didn't give anyone time to get to safety before detonation. They were just told to turn their backs to the explosion and to cover their eyes with their hands. My uncle told me that even doing that, he could see the bones in his hands when it went off. He died of leukemia from that, about 18 years ago. And the gubment denied any responsibility for decades, and when they finally owned up to it, they did so VERY quietly. There's a fund to compensate still-living vets or their children with a modest sum of money as an apology.
I'm so sorry for your loss even if it was a while ago. That sounds so crazy how he could see the bones. I heard even if you cover your eyes, it's impossible to not see the explosion.
Jeez Louise!!😮
GB H bomb tests were similar.
A fish was able to take its own x-ray because it was giving out so much radioactivity
Operation Plumbbob:
A plumb bob is a weight, usually with a pointed tip on the bottom, suspended from a string and used as a vertical direction as a reference line, or plumb-line. It us made of stone, wood, or lead, but can also be made of other metals.
The instrument has been used since the time of ancient Egypt to ensure that constructions are "plumb", or vertical. It is also used in surveying, to establish the nadir (opposite of zenith) with respect to gravity of a point in space. It is used with a variety of instruments (including levels, theodolites, and steel tapes) to set the instrument exactly over a fixed survey marker or to transcribe positions onto the ground for placing a marker.
Thank God for engineers and surveyors.
Gandalf was actually killed by the Balrog.
Thats why he is sent back as Gandalf the White, who is a loy more powerful than he was as Gandalf the Grey. The Valar decided to create another body for him and send him back since he was the only Wizard who was actually doing their job.
SHIT! Then G the White! TRUE!!
@@Reckyjtime to rewatch the trilogy if you didn’t know that my friend, no hate. Memory is a fickle bitch, happens to the best of us
@@scotthill1600 I forgot about the "white" part. SHAME RECKY! SHAAAAME =)
@@Reckyj shameeeeeeeeee!!! Lmao
That manhole cover could make it to the moon in under 2 hours!
holy crap!!!
It's current distance, if it is still going, is nearly 1/5 the distance to Alpha Centaurs. By latest scientific study.
AMAZES me every time I hear how hot the explosion is. I can't even IMAGINE 11-FEET of concrete instantly turning into gas.
Soldiers called Nevada the "field where the giant mushrooms grew". (cloud)
I bet that's the reason why we have all these UFO/UAP sightings around the world lately. All the aliens are trying to find out where and what we used to gain warp speed technology. LOL!!!
hahahahaha warp speed is key!
I remember seeing a picture a long time ago. It showed a road out in the desert with Yucca trees. Beside the road was a big painted sign with a mushroom cloud, the rest of the sign read, 'MERCURY, NEVADA. WHERE THE TALL MUSHROOMS GROW".
I went to school in a school/fall out shelter!!! I believe it was the 1st in America! It was called Abo Elementary School/Fall out Shelter located in Artesia, NM. You can fund a video about it on RUclips! Hope you check it out! It is no longer used as a school but used for federal training. It is completely under ground, coolest school ever!!
I don't remember which relative remembers seeing the glow and feeling the ground move, probably my uncle because he was in the military and spent in time in that area. I wasn't around or aware. Incredibly ignorant and using our troops as guinea pigs. " Here, hide in this ditch, what could go wrong?"
Subscribed. If you Google Yucca Flat Nevada and look at the aerial map you can get an idea of how often they blew up nuclear weapons.
At least the folks in the films volunteered to be there (George excepted) and were given some pre-film training (not terribly useful, but still). This is from an NPR story in 2010.
None of the service members got any extra pay to get nuked. It is the military way. Alternate Sun, no problem just give me some Grunts. Army for life.
Nevada used to use see a nuke for tourism in the 1950s.
(America dropped the nukes to have fun. I think after like 10 drops they had the data they wanted, and just were playing with the biggest firecracker they could get away with).
The Henson Razor blades.
My family lived in San Gabriel Mountains east of Los Angeles in the early 1950s. I was too young to have any recollection of it but I remember them saying they could see the flashes from the tests.
I have read several Sci-Fi stories with that manhole cover as part of the plot. Good stories too! You are doing great!!
Interesting history. Will have to look up if these 'population of five' got Metal of Honors. God bless them.
Check out The Fat Electrician's video 11th Airborne Raid On The Los Banos Internment Camp
If only we had waited till the moon was nearly over the test site when that oversized manhole cover got launched.....
Then we would know for sure if Merica put the first object in space or not
lol if you get hit with a bucket of shit be sure you close your eyes
Great video and great reaction. Your expression while listening had me laughing out loud. Thanks!
hahahaha
Ummm, yeah guys, just stand right about here, and hold this sign. Thanks!
hahahaha
Let's not talk about the Straight Up Lost Thermo-Nuclear Bombs. There a lost 15 Megaton Thermo-Nuclear (Previously called a 'Hydrogen Bomb', or "Fusion Bomb"), somewhere off the coast of Savannah, Georgia (Tybee Island)
Has never been found!
I wonder if it's still going.
Very funny! Stupid government stuff but he makes it sound so funny.
They dont stupid things, its all for.. ehh science!
Did you get yourself a Henson, Recky?
Henson?
Gotta love pigs in a blanket
I have words but will keep them to myself.
hahahaha sounds good!
Boys with toys
You have an American accent.
Quick note...one thing that Fat Electrician is a little bit off on is that the Germans put the first manmade object in space with the launch of a V-2 rocket to an altitude of 176 kilometers on June 20, 1944. So no matter what happened to the manhole cover, it was definitely never going to be the first manmade object in space. It is also possible that he is just thinking that the manhole cover would have gone into orbit, which it would not have...but it just proves he is still human and can make mistakes. LOL
Thank You for Your Amazing Videos
Look up bikini atoll
