They aren't always the easiest to find but i highly recommend the 7012140 snips. They have been my all time favorite for plc / control / comms type work for about 15 years now. Not vde handles that we know you love though.

Not vde handles nooooooooooooo all jokes aside you can get the 140s in vde. Didn't think of trying them

@@danstoolroom7700 the 7012140's handle isnt the usual dipped, its thicker and softer, and they have spring opening which is pretty nice when you're using for any decent amount of time. I completely understand though, when you find a handle type that just works for you 👌

@@rgoring81 are you sure you are not thinking of the 74 12 160? That seam to be the closest to what you are describing. I can't seem to find a pair of 140 spring loaded. if you have a link or a picture I would love to see it. 140 spring sounds sweet

Thanks for the quality videos, i personally use ck sidecutters, but these look quality, might have to get a set, medium size probably, have you tried any ck cutters ? would like to see a few reviews on their cutters/tools

Hi mate sorry didn't see this vid, I havent used ck side cutters but used their pliers and two types of their croppers. They are perfectly good tools, I just personally prefer knipex myself

The High Leverage cutters are nice but the chrome started to chip off the blades on my pair, after a few months of light work. I think it's time to test out their warranty

Would a 160 mm cobolt 7101160 replace them all? Function wise.

9:18 What do you use to grease them up, specifically?

I've know a geeza at work who has a pair of knipex sidecutters that look identical to them but rusted like crazy. Have yours seen any rust?

No rust on mine but they normally work indoors to be fair
