I had a tornado hit my shop a couple months ago, it didn't level it but it definitely seriously damage to structure so we are currentlygetting ready to tear down the existing structure and build a new bigger and better shop. So it might be a little bit more before I get some more videos up but understand that they are coming
Question, are the wheels you show in the video stock size C6 wheels? 18x8.5 front, 19x10 rear? Where did you order the spacer from? I think I would have taped off the fender wells first before grinding on the studs. Very informative video and funny. Really like how you speak your mind on what you are doing.
Great video! I contemplated this swap for some time . My question remains, is it really such a huge improvement in Braking to justify the considerable cost? I compare the braking of my C6 Z51 to previous cars ( like a 930 Porsche and a Mercedes 450 SEL 427) I don’t race anymore and would like to find some concrete braking distance 60 mph to Zero Comparing the Z51 system to the Z06 Set up to see if the investment is justified, other than looks.
Okay, I give up: WHERE did you find 15mm bolt-on spacers? The only ones I've found are priced as though they are made of platinum. I've been running 20mm for months now, and I'd rather not have the tires digging into the fenders at an upcoming HPDE.
like the video, you answered my first question about the c6 z06 calipers fitting on a base model vette, i have a base model and now i know that they bolt right up. i have the stock wheels and i wanted to know how would you go about measuring to figure out the offset to not have to use the 15mil spacer. thanks
If you were going to change wheels there are a lot of variables. The inner face of the wheel to the caliper and the depth of the stock wheel pad (the part that fits to the hub. If you know your wheel offset you can just add or subtract. so if you had a +40 offset wheel going with a +25 would be the same as running a 15 mil spacer. Buuuuut that would vary depending on you wheel width. Here is a visual example.looking at the wheel from the side on (----|) would be say a +50 x9 inch wheel. (---|-) would be a +25 x9 (--|--) would be a 0 offset and (-|---) would be a -25 offset. Does that make sense? If not I can make a quick video, I have several wheels of different offsets around. THANKS FOR WATCHING!
I would’ve like to see a different pair of wheels with different offset so you wouldn’t have to run spacers. Not a massive fan of the wheels but I like the overall car. Any plans for exhaust or suspension next ?
I'm also not a massive fan of the wheels, and some 3-piece wheels are in the works. But I was doing this for right now anyways so it seems like a fun video to get going with. I'm awaiting suspension components and I'm still kind of in the debate stage on the exhaust.
I had to take out a tiny amount of toe after the swap. I have a video on the works on how to a at home alignment using cheap camber plates from longrace.
Outstanding video, I've been thinking about this swap for quite a while on my 2006. Thanks for doing all of the work to make it easy for us!
That’s great ! 👍
Now do the rears and don’t forget to measure how much the callipers stick out.
Cheers from Sydney Australia ✌
A lift, Snap-On tools and a 3d printer. Awesome! Plus great information that is very helpful. Subscribed.

@@gofastandfix I hate to hear you had damage but if you get a bigger shop out of it then I'll wait for ya!
Good job! Breath of fresh air to C6 mods!

I went with 2011 Z51 18/19 wheels on one of my C5s and they fit perfect. Your mileage may vary.
what was the total MM of clearance that you ended up with from the surface of the rotor to the wheel? about 50MM??
What size spacers did you use and where can I buy set

@@gofastandfix yes this makes a lot of sence, ill do a bit more research and i will let you know if i have any other questions
thanks
Great job, very user friendly
Would love to see how they were bled...considering that's in the title.
I'm the one doing the light bleeding in the title. It's in the video.
Question. Are the front wheels 19” or 18”? Will an 18” clear with a spacer or will I have to go 19”?
18s clear just fine with a spacer in my case.
Hi sorry I know this is late but would a 12mm spacer work as well?
It really depends on the wheels. Some have less clearance
What about Alignment?
Did u paint the calipers your self?
Where did you get your spacers from
I either ordered them off of summit or somewhere else easy. 5x120x15 mm with a 72 mm bore if I remember correctly

I used to be cool are they ccw by any chance
@@TraitZZZ nope. I don't have anything against ccw, I just think it would be a bit of a stereotypical Corvette wheel for me
Really great video your videos are the shit! Love them anything on the c6 hud display replacing a broken one video?
Will the front wheel alignment need any adjustments from stock with the spacers installed?
I had to take out a tiny amount of toe after the swap. I have a video on the works on how to a at home alignment using cheap camber plates from longrace.
Did you use the same size spacer on the rears? (I'm in the middle of ordering the last of the parts for this swap on my 2011 base.)
No, 1/4 in slip on spacers In the rear. But as the video goes over, it really depends on the back side of your chosen wheels
@@gofastandfix Cool. Thanks!
Are those rims c6z reps or ome
Reps. The oe z07 wheels will clear the brakes but stick out of the finders by inches
Im asking because im about to tackle this same project but i ave oe zo6 rims so i might be in good shape
You going widebody?
Not as of yet, but I will at some point. For now I just want to see how exciting I can get on the stock fenders.
Stance boii spacers and some caliper covers wouldve been cheaper
Probably equally as effective
