Beautiful watch. I've had many Casio watches, but through the years, this became my favourite. Practical, simple, good looking, and especially more comfortable than all the other Casio models I've tried. It truly has a "personnality", but... OMG those Casio resin strapes. For my W-800H I've bought some sort of generic band Made in Turkey for replacement, it looks like it's made from old truck tires or stuff like that, not soft at all especially when it's new, but man, it's better and more reliable than the geniune ones. After wearing it a few months it become softer. So no complain. Really, on this specific area, Shame on Casio.

I've had a couple of these watches for a few years and recently fitted a replacement strap on one of them, I reused the existing screws. Where the strap meets the watch is a collection point for a fair amount of skin dust and little arm hairs. You may like to remove your strap even though it's not broken to clean those parts. The biggest let down with Casio digital watches is that the straps eventually crack and break in contrast to the watches that seem to go on forever.
Just purchased this watch today from Kohl’s, it was on clearance for $3.77, it didn’t come with the instruction booklet on how to set it, but your video was very helpful….many thanks to you 😊👍🏾

Great review of a very honest watch, the W-96H is a great watch, I bought one in 2007 and it is still on its first battery. The face is very clear an I don't have to bring it up to my face to see it, the stopwatch is also very clear and I use it when running. The strap is it's achilles heel, mine snapped and also broke at the resin lug. I bought a new strap and super glued it to the shoulder, it been ok for the last 5 years. The alarm is a bit low and it your a bit hard of hearing ( like me) it probably won't wake you up. I would definitely buy another one, a superb beater watch.
Wore this thing in the service. Its seen the desert, the arctic, the deep south, the mountains, the forest, all of it. From -65 fahrenheit to 125 farenheit, it never skipped a beat. On vacation, I took it swimming in the ocean, fishing, kayaking, digging in the sand, everything. Its been knicked by razor wire, its been soaked in deisel and engine oil, its been covered in snow, sand, rain, mud, and any number of things. For a number of years I didn't have a single picture where this thing wasn't on my arm. I just could not kill it. Never changed the battery once. I eventually replaced it with something else that only lasted around 2 years. It's almost as tough as a g-shock, almost as cheap as an f91-w, almost as many features as the royale, and absolutely the ugliest darn thing I've ever seen. 10/10. Heck, I bet this watch could even fix your broken marriage.
Had mine in daily use a few years and still on the original strap. When the time comes to replace, I would go for one with a black case as the silver finish tends to scratch and wear over time.
I am using this watch for 8 years, had some scratches, other than that, it is very practical.. I can see the day, and date all in one screen without even touching it. Also, no worries about the battery too... water resistance for basic trekking ... I just love this watch !

What I like the most about this watch is the black and silver contrasting colour combination. Edit: Four years on, the band tore. Five years on, the liquid of the LCD screen is leaking and the screen is gradually becoming dark as black. Maybe it's a one-off incident that my screen got damaged, but Casio really needs to pull the socks up on the bands. It's a commonplace problem that most users are reporting. Anyway, now I'm checking out the DW-5600E-1VQ, and hopefully I may buy it next.

Applying a premium protective film (Palm brand) on the face cover and cutting it to match it's dimensions, guarantee's a scratch free display for many years to come. Excellent review and well earned thumb up feedback.
It is an acrylic glass therefore may be prone to a bit of scratching or micro abrasions but if it does suffer from that then PolyWatch is a worth while investment and will help eradicate that if required. Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA
Hi there and thank you for commenting. It is a decent watch and if you can get it when it is half price, which happens from time to time, it's even better!! Cheers, Tony - WTA
a suggestion: paint the silver area with black permanent marker . than scratch few lines. Watch ll get metallic old finish instead of childish silver...
Thank you for your kind comment. I have just taken a look at my Casio W-96H and I can confirm that it doesn't have a Countdown Timer. Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA
I'd prefer the W-800H that has the same movement and display size but a less bulky case. It also has a higher water resistance rating of 100 m/10 bar. But it's my only movement that's noticeably going slow. It loses several seconds per week.
Hi there and thank you for your question. The display on this watch is pretty big for its size but check out the Casio AE-1500WH-1AVCF, it may be a better option for your dad though it does seem like a pretty big watch - amzn.to/3vzsuag (please note that it is an affiliate link but at least you can take a look at it and maybe search on google to see if you can get it cheaper if it is the watch for you.) Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA

Totally agree!! Great watch and I love how big the display is on them without affecting the case size too much. You should check out the Casio W-800H (which I have only reviewed the other day), another great watch like the Casio-96H and it is only £10 more. Cheers, Tony - WTA.
Id LOVE to buy one of these W-96H watches as I love the LARGE display, but again those D**N proprietary straps are a huge deal breaking PITA - always too short to fit my large wrist and impossible to replace with anything else except the factory strap which costs as much as the watch or more depending on where you go - Come on Casio, make your watches without the pos integrated bands and put regular 22mm lugs on so we can choose a band that fits and lasts more than a year or two. I know Casio wants us to just throw away the watch and buy another one, but that doesnt work on me because the dam one off integrated bands wont fit me in the first place so no sale from me Casio even though I like your watches.
I am with you on that as the Casio W-96H is more or less the same price to buy brand new as is to get a replacement Casio strap for, which is mad really and a bit of a shame. Unfortunately it seems to be the society we live in at the moment and hopefully one day it will change for the better. Thank you for commenting. Cheers, Tony - WTA
I have half a dozen Casio's (F91-W, A163, MRW200, WS1300, AE1200, and this one). Overall, based on form, function and price, this is the pick of the bunch. It was on offer for £10 when I bought it as well.
I do think that the Casio W-96H is still a great watch to own, even after all of the Casios I have featured on the channel. You should check out the Casio W-800H if you get the chance as it is like the w-96h but a little more chunkier. Cheers, Tony - WTA
@@wetryanythingchannel Cheers, Tony. It's on my list, though I'm taking a break from buying any more for now as I've gone a bit overboard since I posted that comment. (Up to 12 Casios now, with an A100WEL, an A700WEG, and the MTP1314 you also reviewed to unbox tonight.)

Hi there and thank you for your question. All I would say is that it will depend on what your daily routine is and it will sit on most peoples hands due to it not being a large timepiece though I am wondering if you mean your wrist as opposed to you hands? Cheers, Tony - WTA
Hi, I’ve already owe the Casio 168WA. I’m planning to get one for Christmas but I’m Confused to choose between the F91W VS AE1200WH vs W96 vs DW5600 Pls suggest lol
The Casio DW5600 looks a great watch and that would be my choice but it is all down to personal preference and budget but check out the Casio W-800H (amzn.to/3mJgAG9) as that is a great looking watch and very affordable. Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA.
From what I can see with the watch featured on the channel it does seem to have an hourly chime. Here is a link to the manual PDF that Casio have for this watch which has the module number of 3239 stamped on the back of the watch: support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/009/qw3239.pdf The manual which I have linked to describes how to go through the process of setting it up for this function. Hope it helps. Cheers, Tony - WTA.
I’m looking for digital casio (not g-shock/protrek), stainless steel case, 50m water resistant at least, has timer & stopwatch function... is there any casio like this?
Hi there, from what I can see and understand, without taking the watch strap arrangement apart, I don't think you can but if anyone has then please comment below. Cheers, Tony - WTA
Hi there and I totally agree with you. You can get a product like PolyWatch which will help lessen the scratches that can occur on these watches and I have used it for a fair few Casio's that I have bought from eBay and it is a great product and costs about £4 from the likes of amazon or ebay. I have a video that features PolyWatch and what it is like to use if it is any help to you. ruclips.net/video/fVwkXxTHtAg/видео.html Cheers, Tony - WTA
In my opinion I preferred this watch over the F91w as the display is bigger and the time display I found better due to the extra size. I also preferred how it felt on my wrist over the F91w plus I found it easier to operate with the slightly larger side buttons. So for me it is this watch over the F91w which I hope helps you in your decision with my reasons for my choice above. Cheers, Tony - WTA
Hi there, if you fast forward to 5:57 on the video it does show the Stopwatch function where i think I did quickly show the lap timer but (and I may be wrong here as I don’t have the watch to hand) I think it only has the one. Hope it helps and Merry Christmas! Cheers, Tony - WTA
Having a stopwatch feature is fine and dandy......... However, It would have been quite essential if it also would have had a programmable timer as well 🤔
DOES anyone happen to know if the Splits function is like other Casio? e.g. On the W-734, you press 'Split' and it will retain the split time on the screen for 8 seconds, before reverting to the chronograph time --- latterly, you can recall the Splits individually > which is the ideal, for runners. I'm drawn to this watch, as the large digital format is great - but I do wonder about the split function. Thanks in advance for any input folks! :-)
Hi there, not sure if it is any help to you but if you click on the link listed below it will take you to an instructional PDF that is on the Casio website and I believe that it mentions about the Stopwatch function on page two. Personally I don't think it does offer the feature that the W-734 has but it is definitely worth a look. support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/009/qw3239.pdf Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA
@@wetryanythingchannel Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've had a look at one PDF on the Casio website, but I will gladly check the link you've given - it might show more detail than the one I found. Much appreciated! :-)
Hi there and thank you for your question. It is hard to say as I have only had the watch since just before Christmas therefore it hasn't really been exposed to too much wear and tear at the moment. It also depends on what your definition of durable is as to some they may wish to have a cheap watch that they can wear while working in a heavy manual work environment like a building site or other wearers may just wish to use it when out running or doing anything else that may damage their more expensive watch, so they can wear it with less care. You have to remember that they are a cheap range of watches that can be bought for as little as £10 and therefore are made up of plastic straps with a watch face that may scratch quite easily. So it will depend on where you wish to wear it that will effect its durability. The only thing I would say is that I did read a great comment that said that Casios have a 10 year battery life but a 2 year strap life and I can well agree with that so it is a case if you get what you pay for. I might be worth having a look on RUclips for other reviews of this watch and see if anyone has mentioned or illustrated how durable these watches are. Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA
Unfortunately, I am unable to advise a better watch for the money that would be more durable but if it is any use to you I did receive a comment from a user under the name of 'deltafoxtrot2' who commented after you saying the following... 'Great review of a very honest watch, the W-96H is a great watch, I bought one in 2007 and it is still on its first battery. Quick question. Looking at the very top area of the bezel, the gray area between the silver section and the thin black section, is that like a light gray, a gun metal gray, or a dark charcoal gray? 🤔 I only ask because I do understand that sometimes actual color detail in uploaded video content may vary according to camera quality as well as lighting conditions during footage production. I have taken notice in other photographs of this watch in Amazon and in other videos where this gray area does appear to have quite a dark tone, where in others, it displays a rather light color. Thank you.
@@wetryanythingchannel Yes. Thank you very much. The reason I asked was because they don't sell this particular model anywhere in local stores anymore and I can only purchase it online...........and sometimes, exact color of the product can vary from numerous photos and footages.
I think Amazon might be your friend with this one as their returns policy tends to be ok (worth checking before you buy) if it isn’t the watch for you. Good luck with your search!! Cheers, Tony - WTA
Wow a 10 inch wrist!! It is hard to say but it works well on my inadequate 6.5 inch wrist. So with a very large wrist it may be a little lost, but I could be wrong in saying that. Your best bet would be to try one on for size and see how you go. If it doesn’t look right to you then why not try the Casio AE1500WH. Big watch with a massive display and I would imagine would work well on your wrist. Hope it helps! Cheers, Tony - WTA

I love it. It's look 90's. Nokia 3310 era.
Very good. Is the glass acrylic or mineral glass?
It is an acrylic glass therefore may be prone to a bit of scratching or micro abrasions but if it does suffer from that then PolyWatch is a worth while investment and will help eradicate that if required.
Hope it helps!

These are good. I bought one but my wife nicked it off me for cycling and running off road with two years ago. Still works fine.
Is the split function like other casio options?
Also interested in using for this purpose :-)
@sebastian. I dont think they need split up over it. Just buy another watch.
🙂
It's a decent and reliable watch, I have been wearing it for a long time but the resin strap tear up easily. Other than that it's a superb watch. 👍
Hi there and thank you for commenting. It is a decent watch and if you can get it when it is half price, which happens from time to time, it's even better!!

@@wetryanythingchannel is there a replacement strap I can purchase or would I need to purchase another one of same watch?? 🤔
a suggestion: paint the silver area with black permanent marker . than scratch few lines. Watch ll get metallic old finish instead of childish silver...
Gr8 review, One question, Does it also have a Timer function as well ?? Thnx in advance for your response,
Thank you for your kind comment. I have just taken a look at my Casio W-96H and I can confirm that it doesn't have a Countdown Timer.
Hope it helps!

This is the watch Debra Morgan wore on Dexter
I'd prefer the W-800H that has the same movement and display size but a less bulky case.
It also has a higher water resistance rating of 100 m/10 bar.
But it's my only movement that's noticeably going slow. It loses several seconds per week.
Whats probably the biggest digital display model they have? My dad has pretty bad eyesight and i would like to find the easiest one to read for him
Hi there and thank you for your question. The display on this watch is pretty big for its size but check out the Casio AE-1500WH-1AVCF, it may be a better option for your dad though it does seem like a pretty big watch - amzn.to/3vzsuag (please note that it is an affiliate link but at least you can take a look at it and maybe search on google to see if you can get it cheaper if it is the watch for you.)
Hope it helps!

This is a good watch for your dad or the A1500 which might be bigger and it is round.
watch with date time and alarm is all i need. for the rest I have a smartphone.
The Casio W800h is the better watch for less Money
With a replaceble strap and the same Features.
Thank you for commenting and it's a great suggestion! I will have to check it out and post a review video on the channel in the near future, so if you haven't already done so then don't forget to subscribe!

And twice more water resistance
Good light, tough little watch takes a beating replacement straps cost peanuts and battery just keeps on going.
All for a tenner
Totally agree!! Great watch and I love how big the display is on them without affecting the case size too much. You should check out the Casio W-800H (which I have only reviewed the other day), another great watch like the Casio-96H and it is only £10 more.
Cheers,
Tony - WTA.

I have this watch. Best watch.
Perfect watch
But strap will brake easy
I have half a dozen Casio's (F91-W, A163, MRW200, WS1300, AE1200, and this one). Overall, based on form, function and price, this is the pick of the bunch. It was on offer for £10 when I bought it as well.
I do think that the Casio W-96H is still a great watch to own, even after all of the Casios I have featured on the channel.
You should check out the Casio W-800H if you get the chance as it is like the w-96h but a little more chunkier.

Your videos are fantastic thank you for sharing this watch it is super nice I like it it's basic it's big you can read the display clearly very nice I just wish it was like the other models 200 m 🇺🇸👍😎💖
As a student can I use it in my daily routine.
Does it fit nice in my average hands
Hi there and thank you for your question. All I would say is that it will depend on what your daily routine is and it will sit on most peoples hands due to it not being a large timepiece though I am wondering if you mean your wrist as opposed to you hands?

Hi, I’ve already owe the Casio 168WA. I’m planning to get one for Christmas but I’m
Confused to choose between the F91W VS AE1200WH vs W96 vs DW5600
Pls suggest lol
The Casio DW5600 looks a great watch and that would be my choice but it is all down to personal preference and budget but check out the Casio W-800H (amzn.to/3mJgAG9) as that is a great looking watch and very affordable.
Hope it helps!

Does the watch pipe every hour? (Does it make sound when the clock hits, for example 12:00, 13:00, 14:00)
From what I can see with the watch featured on the channel it does seem to have an hourly chime. Here is a link to the manual PDF that Casio have for this watch which has the module number of 3239 stamped on the back of the watch: support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/009/qw3239.pdf
The manual which I have linked to describes how to go through the process of setting it up for this function. Hope it helps.

I’m looking for digital casio (not g-shock/protrek), stainless steel case, 50m water resistant at least, has timer & stopwatch function... is there any casio like this?
Look up Casio AE 1500.
@@ashinterceptor thanks for your reply… but it’s not stainless steel case
@@sindbadsailor7868 Oh ok, then look up Casio-AE-1200WHD-1AVDF aka Casio Royale
This is an excellent beater watch.
Can you replace the straps without something else?
Hi there, from what I can see and understand, without taking the watch strap arrangement apart, I don't think you can but if anyone has then please comment below.

it would be great if they add scratch resistant glass for a few extra quid, that is the weak point of this watch, otherwise it's really great.

Im confuse between this wach and f91w which is best and solid plss reply
In my opinion I preferred this watch over the F91w as the display is bigger and the time display I found better due to the extra size. I also preferred how it felt on my wrist over the F91w plus I found it easier to operate with the slightly larger side buttons.
So for me it is this watch over the F91w which I hope helps you in your decision with my reasons for my choice above.

Does it have lap stopwatch? I want to hold multiple times at the same time
Hi there, if you fast forward to 5:57 on the video it does show the Stopwatch function where i think I did quickly show the lap timer but (and I may be wrong here as I don’t have the watch to hand) I think it only has the one. Hope it helps and Merry Christmas!

Having a stopwatch feature is fine and dandy......... However, It would have been quite essential if it also would have had a programmable timer as well 🤔
DOES anyone happen to know if the Splits function is like other Casio?
e.g. On the W-734, you press 'Split' and it will retain the split time on the screen for 8 seconds,
before reverting to the chronograph time --- latterly, you can recall the Splits individually >
which is the ideal, for runners.

9.99 at argos get them while u can

What Do U Do IF the strap does break either within Or After the guarantee period?... :)
Cheap enough to get another one. I just got one on eBay for $10.
that "10 year battery " hope they ditch it or bring down the alarm chrono
Can you install a stainless steel band on this watch?

The great japanese watch.
is it durable?
Cheers,
Tony - WTA
@@wetryanythingchannel sir plzzz suggest a less care and long lasting watch around 2000 INR😅😅😅
Hope it helps.

This need steel series absolutely
And at least a mineral crystal glass 🤔
How do i change it to 24/12 hours? I can't do it
Just press button with mark 12/24 H (lower right side button)
I have this watch.
Quick question. Looking at the very top area of the bezel, the gray area between the silver section and the thin black section, is that like a light gray, a gun metal gray, or a dark charcoal gray? 🤔
I only ask because I do understand that sometimes actual color detail in uploaded video content may vary according to camera quality as well as lighting conditions during footage production.
I have taken notice in other photographs of this watch in Amazon and in other videos where this gray area does appear to have quite a dark tone, where in others, it displays a rather light color. Thank you.
Hi there, hopefully I have understood the area you are referring to and to me it seems to be a dark grey. Hope it helps!

Tony - WTA.
Good luck with your search!!

no want, only one led on the corner; bad casio, need 2 leds at least!!!
A watch should be worn behind the wrist bone not on it. You look like a kid wearing his dad's watch.
It looks fine. So shut up.
I just measured my wrist and it's 10 inches. Would this look small on it?
Wow a 10 inch wrist!! It is hard to say but it works well on my inadequate 6.5 inch wrist. So with a very large wrist it may be a little lost, but I could be wrong in saying that.
Your best bet would be to try one on for size and see how you go. If it doesn’t look right to you then why not try the Casio AE1500WH. Big watch with a massive display and I would imagine would work well on your wrist.
Hope it helps!
