Have to say for a late 90's watch the Casio A-220 Futurist is packed to the gills with features. One of the features of the Casio A-220 that I wasn't sure of in the video was the Progress Indicator function. Working on the Casio A-220's tutorial video, I have now worked out that it refers to an alarm going off a predetermined countdown times as it 'progresses' to zero. These intervals are where the alarm (or vibration if it is activated) indicates progression at the 10, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 minute marks as well as the 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 second marks. I have this watch, a Protrek 270D, and a Garmin Tactix Pro 7. For its price, the SGW 100 is a great watch. I bought it when the battery of my Protrek died and I couldn’t find anyone local who could pressurize it. Unlike the other two its size isn’t overly obtrusive. The one thing I did not like about the SGW 100 was the band which fell apart rather quickly but I replaced it with a nylon web band.

In terms of functions, functionality and modes - this is the best Casio from the "budget" line. It is better than F-91W, F105, W218, A158, A168... It has nice elegant retro-futuristic design (inspired by the first digital watches from the 70') which is slightly different than typical "square" Casio.

Interesting design but I don't like negative displays.

I’ve got one of these watches somewhere that I used to wear in around 2000. I liked the retro/modern design at the time. I’ll have to dig it out.

Is this still the best G-Shock to get? I plan on getting this to align all my other watches' to this since it would literally be the most accurate.

in case of the strap...that's for sure fake, since it's missing some codes that normally casio have, and for sure the quality of it. For the watch it's self your points are valid....anyway the F series are known as budget watches....but I like them...the f94 is next on my list. Good luck with your RUclips channel!

At first glance I thought it was real, but that is mainly because I've never seen a fake F-94W. There's a few clear identifiers that it is a fake though; first the face apart from having print errors, the fonts are all wrong, the day segments is also wrong in the 'M' for Monday and the case back screws - for some reason all the counterfeiters can't get the screws right from all the fakes I've come across (compare the screws to your genuine F-99 and you'll see the difference)

I bought this a few days ago but haven't yet received it, but I really like the look of it and will likely never use the calculator bit but it doesn't bother me at all because I like the film tie-in and it just looks great. I don't worry about water resistance either tbph as I never wear any watch in the shower/bath/swimming in the first place. I started with one Casio square g-shock last year or so because I love that look (not a fan of the round ones, they are too cluttered for me) and now I have 8 or so .. dear me, they are so collectable! I have a few limited ones but I wear them all, as that's what they are designed to do after all, but I don't wear the rarer ones as a daily basher because I want to preserve them in good condition. In any case, Casio bring back good memories of the 80s so I like that sentimental feeling when I wear them. Good stuff.

Can anyone share their experience with the waterproofing on this watch? I couldn’t find any videos or detailed information online. Is it reliable for daily showers, splashes, or riding in the rain?

Yes very useful video this, I bought this exact watch from Argos a few days ago (£99) and am extremely pleased with it ... but the enclosed manuals are written in tiny fonts and a bit baffling to follow so this video has helped considerably. In particular I wanted to know how to set the time to the UK format since US time always confuses me a bit ... now I know. Brill.

Fake ! Can notice it from a mile away

This is absolutely a fake. I have a F94W I bought from Amazon US (seller), so I could compare. What I could tell: The font used for “ALARM CHRONO” and “WATER RESIST” is too thin, and the yellow is too bright. All the other issues you brought up are correct as well, the module should show “CASIo”, there should be no afterglow, the LCD alignment is off, the back screws are all wrong, and the alarm activation behaves differently.

Definitely a fake: there is NO afterglow on these modules; no word CASIo whem pressing and holding the 12/24h button (all these modules have it, even some better fakes - if it doesn't have it, a clear fake) and the painting model on the watch face - pretty unconsistent! No doubt - a fake.

Thanks for the video! Two things - back when this was released, I remember it had a fun little game where you had to scroll up to match numbers marching in from right to left. Any idea if that game is still on it? And second - does this watch SHOW both times at once ever? Or do you have to press the button to see each dual time? Thanks again!

When you turned the watch over, instantly it's a fake. The screws are fakes. The backplate is fake. FAKE!

This is the best watch - automatically sets time each night and is very light. The viewing angle blurs the digital numbers a bit when you move your wrist - unlike the cheaper DW5600, but this is an awesome watch!

I'm nearly Fifty years old and just got my first one today. This video was very helpful.

I'm not convinced these are genuine. Casio UK don't sell any of the databanks and neither do authorised Casio dealers yet Amazon sellers have an endless supply. I suspect they're Chinese fakes.

I have both watches (w59 & f91w), and I love them both. If you go swimming, the w59 is definitely the better choice.

Tony, try the Casio W800H. Similar footprint but Day and Year as well. It is 100m WR so thats a bonus as well. Great watch, just swap out the resin straps for leather and a black stainless steel buckle and your set. Thanks for the video.
